  1. Howdy! im Sergio from Argentina. I am planning a new display computer build and i had a few questions: -anybody has some experience running watchout V5 on windows 10? new hardware (motherboards mainly i guess) have limited compatibility with win7, and sadly upgrading all keys to V6 is not an option right now. -searching the forum i got a bit confused about the "pci lanes" topic. With just one capture card im fine. -It seems the norm is Intel cpus, has anybody built a system with those flashy new Ryzens? im between a i9 or a Ryzen5800x. -regarding the Gpu i will go for something like a Gtx2060/2070/2080. Im aiming at 2 4k 60hz outputs. A Gtx 2060 would be fine? thanks for reading fellow watchouters, any help is apprecciated.
  2. Man, that must have been a hell of a show! ? Reading all that stuff reafirms my decision to stick to win7 to the end of times. One thing that catched my attention was the mention of the read-only OS, did you or anybody in the forum tried that setup?
  3. Watchout 5+windows 10 is a big NO At best you could use it for a production computer but not for a display. That asus motherboard is ok,we have been running a system with a similiar one with no problems
  4. I been using quite a few blackmagic duo, and duo2, and when feeding them interlaced signals, i have to set half the frame rate in the live input media. If the signal is 1080i 50hz, in WO the live input is set to 25 hz, otherwise it doesnt work. I have no clue about the logic behind that

  6. 8 hd outputs, thats one big led wall. Im just guessing, but i had a similar problem a few days ago, and finally the problem was with the splitted video files. They had different bit rate and sometimes they would go out of sync
  7. Hi! from my experience using Blackmagick capture cards i have seen a subtle improve in the delay deactivating the "Frame Blending" checkbox in the Live Video media. That, and also ensuring that the video chain before the capture is as simple as you can...... just dont expect any miracles .... cheers from Argentina
  8. If somebody has a workaround i´ll be glad to hear it too. I run a show with a similar setup last week and i think the only solution is having a scaler receiving that signal (what we did). Or maybe getting a second display PC can be cheaper
  9. Good info! i've been using a blackmagic with sdi inputs for a few years and the delay added when someone is speaking is a recurring problem. my motherboard has Pcie 2.0, are you saying that maybe the.higher bandwidth of 3.0 can reduce the latency?
  10. Thanks Mike, then maybe i was uploading the .wob file with a different file name? And by the way, when i upload the new version to watchnet, is necessary to re-consolidate the project or can i just replace the watchout file in the .wob package? Its my first time using watchnet, and is working really good so far, the show has been running for two days now. Is there any improvement in stability compared to the classic Production/Displays scheme? thanks again! greetings from Argentina
  11. In watchout the Cpu gets most of the job done during playback. Especially nowadays with lot of h264 and high resolutions. So getting an I7 would be a smart choice. Pair it up with a decent Gpu with 3 or 4 outputs and thats it.
  12. Hi folks, i have a simple question regarding watchnet. is there a way to update the show with small changes, like looping a video whitout the cluster re-caching all the video files?? Currently my workflow is: consolidating a show in production, creating a zip file, and uploading it to watchnet server. when i load the new show the cluster takes a long time re loading all the files. any advice would be helpful, thank you
  13. I usually work in that kind of events you describe. My best choice so far is using a tiny Korg-Controller, the one that has faders. Then i create an auxilary timeline on top with a live camera, and a fader assigned to the opacity. This cue is running all the time, so whenever i need to switch to camera i just push the fader to the top (plus i have control over the fade time). This Korg controller is really basic, but a big pro is you can fit it anywhere, even in front of your keyboard. Sergio.
  14. Actually no, not sure. But i wanted to make sure it wasnt a bug or something like that before complaining to the client about the file they sent me thanks for the quick reply jonas!
  15. Hi there!! im having a little problem and sure could use some help. I need to open a show file that was saved on 5.0 version (at least that´s what watchout tells me when i open it) and i know that i should be able to run it on a newer version but the project is empty when i do it. All blank, no displays, no media, only the name of the file on the top of the screen. I tried it with 5.5 version and 5.1, but its the same thing. Then i tried to download 5.0 version from this topic http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1126-dataton-software-earlier-versions-archive/ but it isnt there! If someone had the same problem or knows a workaround for this i will truly appreciate it cheers from Argentina.
