  1. This is a follow up to a previous post I made here. I RMA'd the Intensity Pro 4K and it was replaced with a new unit. Yet I'm still experiencing the same issue I did with the previous unit; unable to use live video sources above 720x480i resolution. I've tried changing the video standard with lower refresh rates and "other" to no effect. The card was tested with Desktop Video 10.9.7 (latest version at the time of writing). However, the card works with Resolume Arena 5 at 1080i 59.94Hz so I don't think this unit is defective. At this point I just wouldn't use any more Blackmagic products with my set-up.
  2. So I have had my Blackmagic Intensity Pro HDMI capture cards (3) for over a year now, and noticing that when I plug a DVI input into the machine while in Watchout, the machine freezes up and restarts! I have 3 Display machines, same spec, all Windows 7 64bit. When I run a backup system, and split the signal from 1 source (Screenpro 2/Macbook Pro) through a Kramer VM-4HDCP or simple HDMI splitter, the machines both have the same issue and restart. Very annoying and embarrassing when watching the machines boot up across a wide screen. Has anyone else had this issue? What am I doing wrong? If I start machines with solid inout signal plugged in they seem very happy!

    Moving from HDMI to SDI

I wanted to share with the group that I am sending HDMI video signals from my WO Servers as SDI signals to a switcher or router as on onsite operator. I know many of you may have done this already and I'm hoping you will share what kind of issues you've run into or maybe better ways to accomplish this, but it's been such a game changer for me I felt like it was worth sharing and discussing. I'm now converting the HDMI video signals from the WO server to SDI and sending the SDI signal to the switcher or router. I have been using BMD micro HDMI to SDI converters (www.blackmagicdesign.com) and sending one side of the SDI to the switcher and the other side to a Decimator Multi-viewer, DMON-16SL (www.decimator.com). I'm in Amsterdam now running 8 channels (see diagram and photos below) of video, 4 main and 4 backup using only one monitor for viewing the signals. I also have a Program and OpMon feed on the The key for me is using AMD W7100 or higher video cards. I have been testing this scenario over the last 3 months with very great success. Here are the benefits as I see it. Shorter set up time. No EDID issues when using the W7100 video card Fewer monitors (I'm to one monitor in Amsterdam) Fewer cables Fewer power strips BMD micro converters use USB power, so only one or two multi USB chargers take the place of multiple wall wart. (see photo below) I bring my own well maintained cables for my system. Can easily put most setups in my suitcase (minus servers) for travel. Relying more on equipment I bring and maintain. Most equipment (multi-viewer, cables and converters) are inexpensive, so it is now part of my onsite kit and not rented. Fewer connections means less issues and less time troubleshooting. I know this doesn't fit every scenario and I will continue testing and learning, but I believe that this is how I will setup in the future, because it's a game changer for on onsite corporate work and lets me concentrate on content not technical challenges. Please share your experiences or comments.
  4. Hi, I am having issues with cameras, putting out 1080p25. I cannot get them to sho in WO Display (v6.2.1). I am using the newest Decklink driver 10.7.1. In Blackmagic Media Express the camera is there. The new auto-detect in the software tells me the input is 1080p25. But no chance to get it working with WO. I tried with two different cameras. I tried with the Decklink Quad (v1), Decklink Duo (v1+2). When I downgraded the Blackmagic driver to Decklink version 10.1.1 it is working in WO. Another thing is, that I have to use "Decklink Video Capture" instead of "Blackmagic WDM Capture" with version 10.7.1 (or newer than 10.3.7). Otherwise, I only get Input 1 working in WO. All other Inputs are dead, although they are shown in Media Express. Any clues?
  5. Hi all, Just a heads up on the new, cheap Blackmagic Decklink Mini Recorder capture card. http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/decklink/techspecs#35424 While on the surface it looks like a perfect replacement for a Blackmagic Intensity Pro, with one HDMI input and one 1.5G HDSDI input (not to be used simultaneously), it bring some caveats. The HDMI input ONLY accepts an YUV-signal, NOT a RGB-signal, as Intensity Pro can, meaning most computer sources are not possible to use with this card. If Blackmagic intend to fix this or not, is not known as of now, but until they do, proceed with caution. Hope this helps, /jonas
  6. Has anyone had any luck getting Watchout to play through an ATEM switcher? Atem switcher wants to see interlaced video. Video card we have is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 750. Setting is 1080i 30 hertz out. The Watchout splash screen shows up, but as soon as I put computer online... screen goes black. Our other displays have eyefinity cards and the ATEM switcher wouldnt even recognize the computer. If someone has gotten this to work... please let me know how and what graphic card you have! Thanks!

    Datapath and Blackmagic Capture Cards

I have got Watchout 5.5 and recently purchased a Datapath VisionRGB-E2S, to add to the existing blackmagicdesign decklink studio card. However since installing the datapath card windows no longer sees the blackmagic. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
  8. Hi all! Fresh info from a new integration project we just did in a tv broadcaster. Display cluster build according to the last specs, including W9100 display card, RAIDs, etc... Win 8.1 Pro x64... latest bios/ drivers/ etc... 24hour live test of the computer prior to the WO installation We chose Blackmagic Decklink Duo (Dual SDI input) as a capture card since it dual input was the request and it was relatively best card comparing price/ quality. Although it's written that Decklink Duo works even on a x4 slot in fact it doesn't perform good - there is a black flicker when live feed is provided to the screen (even when only one of the inputs is used). After moving to a faster slot problems are solved (for now and, hopefully, for ever)
  9. Hello. Does anybody experienced some issues with the Blackmagic Quad capture card? Every inputs works perfectly, but when I use all of them at the same time on the timeline, its just flashing between the input signals for some seconds, and then nothing. When I go back in timeline where I only use one of the input, it works.... Best Klaus K.
