  1. Hi All, Has anybody had problems where by Watchnet (4.2) does not locate to the correct Cue from a script? Works fine from a button direct to Watch out (6.2.2).But not from a script? Checked for duplicate cues, clears the cache, remade the script, remade the Cue.... Shane
  2. Hey guys! i thought i would try and use watchnet to control my production software, but as soon as i enable the UDP control in Watchout Production i get an error message over and over saying [Error 7 0 "Unrecognized Command: Discover"] and there is no info or control in Watchnet.. i know that, because i am using watchout 5.5.2 with watchnet 1.4, production computers won't show up in the network inside Watchnet, but controlling them should still be possible, right? Anyone have any idea as to what i'm doing wrong? there's no firewall in the production Computer, so nothing's blocked there... Thanks! Frank
  3. Hello Forum! Having a little project where I need to create a custom GUI for some well known single-board computers to do things. I would like to use WATCHNET for this, but I need to send SSH commands from it to get those boards to do what I want them to do. I couldn't figure out how to do this yet, as there are no user credential options in the protocols and commands sections... Any suggestions? Or is it simply not possible from within WATCHNET? Thanks
  4. I'm doing a museum install and I have a very simple timeline with 6 videos and one audio track, The museum would like to control certain functions with a cell phone through WATCHNET software and one piece of media in particular they would like to control is the volume of the only audio file being played. I know I need a give the audio tween a formula, but I'm not sure what is a formula for controlling the volume. I also need to create a slider on the WATCHNET computer to connect the volume. I have been reading the documentation and I cant find anything solid to help me with wording on a parameter for volume. Can you help me please?

    WATCHNET 1.4

WATCHNET 1.4 has been released and you can download it here. There has been massive improvements increasing reliability and stability. The major highlights are: It is now possible to configure and connect to Production Computers and control them just like WATCHOUT clusters from panels and scripts. The text panel item has been enhanced and now includes a dynamic text option which enables WATCHOUT input values and current time of Main/Aux Timelines to be displayed on the text item. A selection of well-known protocols for controlling external devices are now shipped with the WATCHNET installation and can be found under "Devices". Full release notes can by found here: https://www.dataton.com/watchnet-release-notes
  6. Hello, this is a question/feature request. Do you consider a possibility to run watchnet as windows service? Do you have any experience with turning watchnet in to the windows service by some third party software? Do you think it would work? Because it would make sense, as watchnet is kind of server application and if you connect remotely to the computer with watchnet you have to restart when you leave. And the computer have to be configured to log in user and start watchnet automatically. Or do you have any better approach / procedure? Thank you for any advice
  7. Hello, I restarted machine with watchnet 1.3 and the watchnet showed me tab with "Please specify system administrators password (login name is admin)" message, after I did that the watchnet settings were completly empty (scripts, panels etc.). So I looked to WATCHNET_Data folder a there were these files: Spec_bad_5436064718646872249 Cache_bad_2118567053780715942 Spec Cache Do you have any experience with such behaviour? Or what do you think could be the problem? Thank you for answer, Jakub
  8. Hi Just discovered something weird, and I haven't been able to find anything in the documentation. I'm setting up a new show, and I'm including a browser panel created in Watchnet. I don't plan to use it with an Ipad, or any other mobile device, but as an extra control panel for one of the TV Directors on a PC. I discovered that when the Production machine is online, I can't control the cluster from my Watchnet panel. I have to put it offline, in order to get it working again. In my opinion that's a bug. So my question is, what limitations are there to external control of a cluster, regarding Watchout Production, Watchnet, Kinect etc.? And is there a way to work around these issues? Cheers Christian
  9. Hi Everyone, We are very proud that WATCHOUT, WATCHPAX 4, WATCHNET and WATCHMAX production computer were chosen to drive Emaar's new record-breaking 1.7 billion-pixel video wall in The Dubai Mall. The video wall was unveiled in August and features 820 OLED screens from LG in a wavelike configuration. This new attraction measures 50 m by 14 m and is located above the main tank of the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo in the mall. If you are in Dubai, don't miss it! Read more about the record video wall here: https://www.dataton.com/stories/watchout-runs-worlds-highest-resolution-video-wall-at-the-dubai-mall Thanks to everyone involved in the project, with a special humble thanks to systems integrator; DigiComm!

  13. Is there a way to trigger standby mode in watchnet? I couldn't find anything in the script section. I've also tried setting my main display server as an external device to send the network commands but had no luck.
  14. WATCHNET 1.2.1 is released and available for download. This version contains the following fixes: A bug has been fixed in the WOB file distribution to a WATCHOUT cluster where Image Sequences were not distributed. Sliders are now rendered correctly and title text-orientation adjusted in vertical mode. Titles of Panel Items are now correctly clipped if they are too large for the item. Panel Sliders can now correctly deal with any value ranges. Media uploading for Panel Items has been greatly enchanced. Resolved a licence key bug which prevented the server to run using a V5 key. Cluster input names with white spaces are now correctly handled. Let me know if you have any questions.

    WATCHOUT, WATCHNET and Autostart.txt

Hi, I'm not sure how to use Autostart.txt when running WATCHOUT on two (or more computers) in the same cluster and I also run WATCHNET on a separate computer. I'm currently running WO 6.0.2 and WN 1.1. Should I have the same autostart.txt in the all WATCHOUT computers in the same cluster? authenticate 1 setLogoString "The show will begin shortly..." delay 5000 load "MyShow" wait run I'm only using "setLogoString" to show that the autostart.txt is loaded and used. The reason I'm asking, is that I sometime have problem to get WATCHNET to work, I guess it's depending on in which order I start the computers. And I haven't found any information in the forum, when it comes to running on several computers. Any help is appreciated!

Good Morning all! When can we expect Watchnet? Also, will Watchnet be a stand alone programme or will it be packaged as an update to Watchout? Regards Luke

    WatchNet ERRORs and more

Hi All, I've been working with Watchnet Server and an iPad with very good results. However, I'm seeing at the server's log a few errors. First one is when powering up the system in the morning: (DATE/TIME) ERROR Worker task/Cluster/HoP/GetTimelines/2 IllegalState Cluster not ready Error in STARTUP Normally the log is showing this message albeit the 4 WatchPax in use are awake for long time ago. Also, as I'm using the same PC for both Watchmaker and WatchNet (one license) and running one of the applications at a time, server's log sometimes shows the following: (DATE/TIME) ERROR Worker WATCHPOINT/DMP_01.HoP Exception Connection error, An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. I know is not ideal to handle both applications under the same license/computer but have no other choice at the moment. The 4 Watchpax are working with fixed IP address, and only one of them has the autostart script that way: authenticate 1 setLogoString "loading" delay 5000 load "HoP" wait This normally works fine but when changing from WO to WN it struggles a bit (even relaunching Watchpoint), is that normal?? By other hand, I'd like to know if WatchNet can receive any external command to i.e. send iPad panel to page "1" or "kill" all the timelines in case of a fire alarm has been activated. Is there any extended manual, tips, tricks or treats for the WatchNet application? Thank you Kind Regards Sergi Jover
  20. Hi I'm configuring a Watchnet setup, which is controlling a show, which runs with no problems. The issue is, that when I try to control an aux timeline with a string cue, which normally works fine, Watchnet fails, and send a cluster error message: "Failed delivering data: setInput <string> <value> <"value">$0D; String Output "WATCHNET"" of OutPut list (4 7) I have no idea what that means. And as mentioned, the show runs fine in the normal setup. Any ideas? Cheers Christian
  21. Hello, I am preparing new instalation where should be possibility of live input from notebook - hdmi. So I have few questions about this topic: Which capture card do you recommend for the lowest delay? Can be also audio "routed" through Media / live video cue? I mean: Notebook hdmi out - Watchout machine capture card hdmi in (watchmaker live video cue) - watchout machine audio out. Or do I have to have separate audio cable from notebook? Is it possible to use live video cue (input from capture card) without watchmaker - with system controled by watchnet? Thank you for answers. Jakub
  22. Hello, I am consulting this problem with support already, but as we can not find the problem solution/source, I want to ask here if somebody has encountered same problem or will have some idea how to solve it. We have system with one production computer (watchmaker version 6) and two watchpaxes 2. Production computer also controles light over ArtNetDMX. It works just fine. Problem is whan we switch from watchmaker to watchnet. Videos are playing just fine, also pj link commands work, but the artnetDMX doesnt work at all. -------------------------------------------------------- We have tested the network. There is around 200 artnet packets/sec when useing wachmaker and not a single one is comeing out of cluster master watchpax when useing watchnet. -------------------------------------------------------- Here is the procedure we do when switching from watchmaker to watchnet: A) I prepare the show in watchmaker - Just with one image (on layer2, main timeline) and one DMXoutput (on layer1, main timeline). I upload this to watchpax by going online and test it - it works with watchmaker like a charm. Than I go offline and switch watchmaker off. C) I switch on watchnet (on the same computer where the watchmaker was) and I choose Subsystems, add the cluster and than power the watchpax off and on. And than I check if the show is there (by the i button on the subsystem page). D) Than I go to script page and make script out of: ClusterLoadShow (with the force reload) wait (1 sec) TimelineControl Than I ran the script with "Run the script" from the main menu. E) I can see that the picture is projected from watchpax as expecetd, but the ArtnetDMX doesnt work. Thanks for any ideas how to solve this.
  23. hi Guys , i want to upload a wob file in watch net but at the end it comes out this sentence : invalid cen header bad signature what it could be ?? thanks a lot
