Watchout with HDSDI output

Hi

I'm facing some issues using HDMI output's from Watchout. I'll leave the long technical explanation out, since it's irrelevant here.

The system I work with, uses a Decklink Quad HDSI board for live video input. Since the video card also have 4 output channels, my question is, if anyone have tried to use Watchout with that configuration?

The system is configured with an AMD Firepro W9000 as the output card, but that only delivers HDMI, and I don't want to convert HDMI to HDSDI.

I hope someone can help me

Best regards Christian

They will not work, those BMD Decklink cards / outputs do not support Microsft DirectX 3D acceleration

on the output side, which is an absolute requirement for WATCHOUT.

No one does, but that is the only option to get to HD-SDI today.

There are no DirectX 3D accelerated GPUs with native HD-SDI output available today.

Rumour has it AMD is working on a DirectX 3D capable GPU with HDbaseT outputs,

and a variety of signal types, including SDI, would be made available for the receiver side.

But I would not hold your breath waiting for that.

Nvidea offers a solution with a powerful workstation graphic card (Quadro 4000 and higher) and a daughterboard graphic card.

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product_quadro_sdi_output_uk.html

It's very expensive and can only play one output per computer.

The alternative could be to use a Grassvalley all-in-all converter for appr. 1000 EUR and make this convert DVI into a proper HD-SDI signal. This could (should) work with more than one output from a computer.

Haven't tried it personally but considered it in some earlier researches.

Best regards

Rainer

But, as Jim stated above:

They, too, will not work, as those BMD Decklink cards / outputs do not support Microsft DirectX 3D acceleration

 Hi

If you need a good but cheaer HDMI to HD/3G-SDI you can find on ebay

I take 3 of these converter and function very well.

You must search with " HDMI to SDI " with Worldwide parameter

I have the model of 129$, but you can find some models of 75.90$
