WATCHOUT Multi-output

WATCHOUT Multi-output ONLY works with one graphics card.

That one graphics card may have up to six (6) outputs, provided the graphics card vendor
includes driver support for multiple outputs under DirectX/Direct3D in 3D mode.

Irrespectively the number of connectors, DisplayPort or MiniDisplayPort, all outputs over two (2) “legacy” connectors,
VGA/DVI/HDMI, MUST use ACTIVE DP/MiniDP—>DVI/HDMI adapters, passive will NOT work.

There are 2 different types of ACTIVE DP/MDP-adapters, Single-Link DVI and Dual-Link DVI:

Single-Link DVI - cheaper, resolution up to 1920x1200, powered from the DP/MDP-connector

Dual-Link DVI - more expensive, resolution up to 2560x1600, powered from separate USB or external PSU.

Windows 7 SP1/Windows 8.1 Update 1, 64-bit or 32-bit

WATCHOUT is a 32-bit application, and supports a 64-bit OS.

We recommend to run WATCHOUT under a 64-bit OS, due to the fact that

many drivers for capture cards etc, can make use of the extra RAM.

16 GB of RAM is usually a good reference.

Hello

How many [email protected] 30469kb/s h.264 videos can be played on JAN15 - Z97 display server simultaneously?

Who knows? There are so many variables undefined in that description

he only way to find out is to test the specific videos you will be using.

So the only way to understand which configuration will be enough for my needs is to test a real computer?

Maybe you could give me some advice which specification I can use for such task:

2 stereoscopic layers [email protected] h.264 HP (4 files at all) plus effects for these layers, dmx, timecode etc, 4 outputs (Left 1, Right 1, Left 2, Right 2).

Is i7-4790k ok for it or better use i7-5820k or i7-5930k?

Is the an updated version of "Codecs for stable WATCHOUT playback" for Ver6 and UHD/4K playback?

Thanks

Matt

None that I am aware of. Available knowledge on the topics of 'Ver6 and UHD/4K playback'

are pretty much found in this forum.

A technical question. Can we apply the same system image to different PC with slightly different hardware? For example the Motherboard and GPU the same, but the CPU is different.

In the tweek list it's requirering to install quicktime. But it's kot available anymore for downlod since it's install. Do we still need to install since watchout didn't require to have it since v5? And if yes for any reason where can i get it?

No, version 5.5.x and all version 6 variants

do not require the installation of Quicktime.

Keep in mind the tuning guide is written for Windows 7.

If you want Quicktime for Windows 7,

it can be obtained here: Download QuickTime 7.7.9 for Windows 7 (active as of 20_Aug_2017)

Windows 7 remains the OS of choice,

There is no benefit to Windows 8, only extra things to tune out.

I'm trying to download the tweaks list from:

WATCHOUT Display & Production computer Tweaking list

Windows 7 Tweaking list:

attachicon.gifWindows_7_Tweaking_list_2.1.pdf

And it's giving me this error:

Sorry, there is a problem

The page you are trying to access is not available for your account.

Error code: 2C171/1

In fact, I can't download any PDF from this thread.  Is this perhaps due to the forum update?  We are having problems with our display machine and I need this tweaks list ASAP..

John,

it was due to the web redesign we did of dataton.com. I have now made a redirect, so the link is working again!

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I seem to have the same problem with all of the links!

We are about to build a media server and would like to know the recommended technical specifications for it. Is it possible to download  these files from somewhere else?

Thank you!
