  1. Hi, Was there a soliution found for this error? I've just installed the version 5.2.2 and numerous shows now cannot open with the same error message as the opening post.
  2. Hi, I have two rackmounted PC's running the following: i7-47705 @ 3.1GHZ 8GB Win 7 Home Premium (64bit) 2 x SSD Radeon HD 7900 (using 5 outputs) Running Watchout 5.5.2 Production and Display machines hardwired with Gigabit ethernet cards and a gigabit network switch (which has been changed in an attempt to resolve this) We hardly use the servers anymore, but the last few times have been super slow to respond to the production machine. Scanning the timeline bar across media will often drop connection. Running any composition from the task window is impossible (they just don't play). And playing a video on loop with free running will make the video play as if free running but it won't loop. I have tried simply using one output in the stage, one media file on free-run/loop with a pause cue half way and I still have the problems listed above. I am running mainly WMV video formats (that last year all worked fine - and on our old set of v4 servers) - some of these files so short they are less than 50mb. The PC's are not connected to the internet and have no virus scanner installed. I've updated drivers to no avail. Any suggestions are very welcome.
  3. The preview window...exactly my thoughts, I've tried that since in wireframe but still the same results. It really is confusing as the task timelines simply hold a video on the timeline for 10 seconds with a pause in the centre, an opacity fade in and out, a layer blend, and free-running loop. Hardly complex processing - and small wmv files too. I think the next option is reinstall watchmaker and keep my fingers crossed... I'll update if I find a reason... Happy New Year....nearly...
  4. Hi JFK, So by logoff I simply mean CTRL-L - Offline/Online. I've restarted both watchmaker/point and servers/production PC. Since installing v5 we've not had to use WO very much (and not in this way), but in v4 we used this method of control for non-linear layered playback very successfully. It allows us to set-up many animations and provides us with almost limitless combinations to play on the fly so it's an invaluable tool. The strange thing now is why it has stopped working? Thanks again, Joel
  5. Hi, I'm having a bit of an issue with our WO5 setup. I have a show with numerous Task comps so I can cue live various scenes. However, when I have one play for about ten minutes or so then the whole task window stops responding. I cannot stop the previous task playing nor can I start up another until I log off and back on again. My first thought was perhaps my firewall is doing something strange - but this was off. I'm hard-wired into a Gigabit network - so no WiFi issues here. Any suggestions for more troubleshooting? Many thanks, Joel
  6. Hi, EDID, yes... So here's the problem: There are 4 x DP, 1 x DVI-I and 1 x DVI-D on each of our HD7970 cards (we have two of these servers). We also have 12 VGA projectors expecting UXGA (1600x1200). Using Startech DP-VGA converters work perfectly for the first 4 outputs, but both of the DVI's have difficulty. All the DVI-VGA adapters including passive and active seem to limit the VGA signal to 1080p except the Lindy active DVI-D to VGA unit. This works fine on the DVI-I output, but as soon as it plugs into the DVI-D it kills all six outputs and Windows sees 6 x 640x480 default displays. We have tried using a DVI-Parrot on the various combinations of adapters but don't get further than outputting 1080p. This is why I decided to try out this MST hub. The advertising suggests it can output three streams of VGA with standard VGA adapters (no mention of EDID managers) - as all my other DP ports function as intended I had hoped I wouldn't need to invest in 6 parrots. Anyway from your suggestion I have tried Parrots on the DP ports and still the Windows display sees 3 x 640x480 displays. I bought two hubs, both with the same issue. Have I any other options? Thanks, Joel
  7. Thanks for your feedback. I ended up buying one for an immediate short term fix. I cannot seem to have my HD7970 register my devices connected to the hub. Windows display properties (and the Catalyst software) show three 640x480 devices but am unable to change resolution. Club3D don't seem to have any drivers for this device. Did you happen to notice this and find a solution?
  8. Hi, Has anyone tried using a Multi Stream Transport (MST) Display Port Hub with v5.5? Thanks, Joel
  9. Hi, I've been asked to review the hardware of a WO installation (v4.5) involving 12 servers. I had the pleasure of running these for a number of years so I know the kit quite well, but having been away for 10 months the most troubling issue is that the audio playback from the servers seems to have stopped. Each of the servers plays back the OS sounds without fault, but as soon as WO is launched there is no audio whatsoever. If I playback mov, wmv, wav files they stay muted, but should I play them from within the desktop environment the servers play them back perfectly. I've investigated the software mixer for the onboard audio cards (Realteck HD) and all possible levels are up and there are no complex mixers to re-route audio in the software. So currently I'm of the opinion that WO might have some hidden preference somewhere that allows the configuration of the audio output of the display machines. Can anyone provide a clue to this? Thanks for any input...
