  1. The application must be sending the command as a list of strings. Try wrapping the whole command in double quotes -- "setInput “testin” 0.5" You may need to escape the inner double quotes with a backslashes like this - "setInput \“testin\” 0.5" Watchout sends that error if some part of a message is omitted. Sending only "setInput" would give you that exact error.
  2. I just noticed WATCHOUT_Installer_6.0.1.msi is actually a link for a 5.1 installer. Would it be possible to swap that download link? Thanks!
  3. A keyboard shortcut to close a task timeline would be very helpful. Is this already possible?
  4. Shift Left/Right - Select next/previous cue on any layer.
  5. Ohh ok very interesting, thanks for the info! Is there any documentation on this anywhere? Thanks again, -Tim
  6. Hi all, I'm curious about the "interaction name" in the advanced media cue settings. What does this do? I cannot find any info on this. Thanks! -Tim
  7. The ability to delete media files out of watchout that are in a timeline would be great. Currently my workaround is to copy all the my aux timelines into notepad and search the file name to find what timeline it's in and delete it manually. It can be quite a tedious process. Is there already a better way to do this? -Tim
  8. Hi Walter, I use Live Update while programming as well and it's great, but we're still using 6.0 so many of those first issues still exist. It sounds like 6.0.1 fixed many of the issues I was having so next football season I'll be upgrading. -Tim
  9. Thanks so much for the response! Yes, the idea would be to have the capability to update only specified display machines within a cluster. One of the issues we have with using Watchout for Live Broadcast is having to update all the displays when we are just making changes to one. It's just a thought, but if we could update an individual display machine we could just wait for those particular monitors to be off camera. Often, the director will just want us to scale a logo down or reposition it slightly and it would be great to not impact the displays on other machines. The manual approach you mentioned sounds like it would achieve the desired effect, but like you said it would be a little tedious. I'll test this out soon. Thanks for the info! -Tim
  10. Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to use a string output to update a single display machine at a time? Thanks! -Tim
  11. I'm not sure if this will work for your exact goal here, but you can get cue name and in time from pasting a timeline into a text document. You can organize this data using excel. To find file name and time do the following - Paste the data delimited by commas and tabs into excel. If there are comps, control cues, and media cues you must use 3 filters -- (took a picture) -https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8aHFFwB6M8TRmF6X0hRSVZxUVE/view?usp=sharing Copy and Paste resulting names into a new sheet. Then to get the in times just filter L by mStart and grab the data from J and copy and paste those next to the names on the new sheet. The duration should be right next to it as well if you need that too. I guess, if you were to do many timelines at once maybe you could also find a way to filter by timeline name and somehow organize it that way. Will this help? Where I work I can't really install any third party software, but I do have excel so this is the only option I've had to do this. -Tim (edit- in the picture I forgot to change one of the conditions, the condition should be "contains" for all three. )
  12. Hi all, Whenever I do a search inside of the media panel for a composition name all my displays flash to black as if it is updating. Why would it be doing this? It does not flash when I search for media files, just compositions which have only one video and a still PNG. This only happens with live update on. I've even seen it flash to black just when I open a composition. I am using Watchout 6 but have not updated to the newest version of Watchout yet. Let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this. Thanks, Tim
  13. Hi Mike, Thanks for the response, that worked great! -Tim
  14. Hi all, Is it possible to tile a texture over a 3d object in Watchout 6? Thanks for any help! -Tim
  15. Thanks for the reply! Those tips definitely helped out. My only issue with replacing previous backgrounds by dragging/dropping is that each one has a different loop point. Another thing I tried out, which worked well, was putting the various backgrounds on a timeline and pasting them into the comp as needed- automatically setting duration. I would then lock it and drag the logo out to match. It's a few extra steps but having to type in all the durations seems a little more tedious. Thanks again, -Tim
  16. Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to set a compositions length to line up with the outpoint of a media cue without having to type in the duration. It appears you can extend the length of the comp by dragging the media duration out but I cannot find a way to bring it back once I shorten the clip. One thought was to just have the duration set to be shorter than any of my media files and then just drag and drop it in so it will set it automatically, but I can't find a way to consistantly drag the file into the very start of the comps timeline which ends up adding a couple frames of black at the end. I am creating a large set of compositions with some logo and some loopable background inside of it. I need to be able to swap out the background files within the comp quickly and still be able to loop it in the main timeline. Some of the background files are shorter than others so I'm having issues with the loop. Is there anything I can do to make this easier other than typing in the duration in the timeline settings? Thanks! -Tim
