  1. OK, if you follow the following procedure I can assure you it will work (unless the card or the PC or its PCI slot is broken) 1) Uninstall WATCHOUT 2) Remove both the Datapath card and the Blackmagic card from the machine. 3) Uninstall all drivers for Datapath and BlackMagic 4) Restart your PC 5) Perform any pending Windows OS updates on your PC (which Windows version are you using btw?) 6) Install the Datapath card and its latest driver (VisionInstall v7.11.0) in "USER MODE" (IMPORTANT - DO NOT USE "KERNEL MODE") 7) Install WATCHOUT 6.02 8) Open a new show and test the Datapath Capture Do not skip any of the steps in the list above and do not install the BlackMagic card before you have the Datapath card functioning again.
  2. Excellent Thomas! Just one small amendment to the last screen capture (above). "CTRL-D" for update (Not "CTRL-R")
  3. Hi Pertti! This issue you reported is currently in research. We will get back to you shortly.
  4. Hi Samuel! Thanks for your post. I had a look at the C900 at ISE. It is a very interesting card. Although it will probably work from the technical point of view, there is currently a limitation in WATCHOUT, which is set to 6 outputs. So currently there will be no joy with card in WATCHOUT Over to the guys at Dataton for a comment.
  5. Hi Nalle! The W4100 will work just fine as long as you're only playing back 4 FullHD video streams. But more important, for the video performance, is to choose a decent processor and a good hard drive, preferable a SSD. And perhaps most important of all is to choose the appropriate encoding for the videos. Please do not hesitate to contact me off forum for further assistance. Good Luck!
  6. Hi Tom! We do apologize for the FreeRun/Looping bug in WATCHOUT version 6.0. It has been fixed and a maintenance update will be released shortly. You also mention that you have had other issues with WO 6. We would like to know what these are. You are most welcome to contact me off forum so we can sort this out.
  7. Hey guys! If you want answers, please sed the files to support@dataton.com (nothing has been received so far) Happy weekends
  8. Just to avoid potential misunderstandings: You can record multiple DMX (Artnet) universes and play them back in WATCHOUT (in version 5 and 6). You just add one "DMX recording" media for each universe. You bring them in as cues on different layers on the timeline. You align the cues to start at the correct time and record as many as you want... but, as Mikes says above, 110 universes might be a bit extensive. FYI, at a reacent staging project they successfully recorded 4 full universes (2,048 channels) for moving light fixtures and played everything back in perfect sync together with projection and LED screens.
  9. Hi Arjen! In oder to trouble shoot your system we need need to ask you for more info 1) How is everything connected and what device is generating the timecode? 2) WATCHOUT hardware? 3) WATCHOUT version? 4) When you say "I disable the timecode", how is this preformed, Is it a command from an external control system? 5) You say it is 100% reproducible. Does it crash also if you just pull the timecode cable?
  10. WATCHPAX uses the WATCHOUT "network sync" and should keep within +/- 1-2 frames WATCHMAX can be purchased with the optional s400 sync card and accomplish "frame locked sync" on all outputs on a single WATCHMAX as well as across multiple units.
  11. Understood. Please see what you can do. If you can send us a file which will display the issue we can give you an answer right-away. No, then you're fine (we have seen issues on some laptops migrating from 5 to 6, where the codecs did not install properly and you got a lot of errors trying to play h.264)
  12. Hi Adam! Please send the file to support@dataton.com and we will have a look. Meanwhile, what you can do (if it wasn't already a fresh WO6 machine) is to uninstall any previous WATCHOUT versions (including v6 betas) and install WO v6.0 from scratch.
  13. On the same rig, you can try a different video formats. If you're on v5, I suggest MPEG2 or Animation. If you're on v6 you have more options, such as HAP, ProRes etc. Even in a single machine, you still need the s400 Sync card for frame critical installations. Do you have one installed? Not true!! A perfectly tweaked WATCHOUT Display computer with an AMD FirePro + s400 card provides frame locked playback. It works on a single machine as well as across multiple chassis (Display computers). The WATCHOUT "Network Sync" (without external hardware sync) should keep within +/- 1-2 frames
  14. It works, with the cursor anywhere in the timeline window. May I ask what Windows version you're using? It might also be worthwhile check out if you have any special mouse/mouse-wheel utility installed Same answer as above: It works! It works if you select the media and press Enter (but not with a double-click as you say)
  15. Hi Shane! Thanks for the kind words. Great seeing you at at the session. Keep up the good work.
  16. Hi Sergi! This will be fixed in the next revision of the "WATCHPAX OS" Meanwhile, I will send you a fix via email.
  17. Speed control of video playback is a new feature in version 6. Frame-blending has been available since version 5.
  18. Yes, please send all relevant info and test files to support@dataton.com Thank you.
  19. See you at InfoComm China 2015, Beijing, stand EA4-01 where we'll be showing off new WATCHOUT version 6 for the first time in China, together with Dataton Premium Partner, Shanghai Lefedv Showtech. And don't miss the InfoComm University Seminar presented by yours truly at 11.30 am and 4.00 pm, April 9! http://www.dataton.com/events
  20. Do you want to import Photoshop layers to separate Watchout media elements? One of our long-time users, Keith Tromer of Corporate Imaging has written an application which does just that! It trims, positions and sets centered anchor points. It even optionally creates elements in compositions and deals with blend modes! I’m thoroughly impressed with what Keith has accomplished, and I can definitely see the utility of such program. --- At this time, it is not available for release, they are testing the waters to find out if there would be enough interest to warrant a public release. Have a look at the demo video on their website and Be sure to fill out the form below the video to let them know you’re interested. http://www.corpimaging.com/photoshop-import-for-watchout/ --- They are looking forward to hearing from you!
  21. Not sure anyone dares to join you for a beer if you wear that mask HAPPY NEW YEAR, Christian
  22. Very well spoken, David. While I totally agree with your post about video codecs, I want to inform all you WATCHOUT users that we (Dataton) also understand the issue described by Curtis above and we are not ignoring the demand for "uncompressed" and other formats. Stay tuned.
  23. Hi Scott! We have used W600 in several video intensive WATCHOUT projects - with all six outputs active. As Jonas/Jim points out above, if you are just running video in WATCHOUT, this card will do just as well as any other graphic card. Another great feature is that the Catalyst Control Center allow EDID emulation alos for the W600 nowadays. Just open the AMD FirePro tab and select EDID emulation.
  24. Christian, please contact me off forum and I'll provide you with a solution based on a single-unit network (site) license. Using the same technology that Jim refers to above.
