  1. Re: Q1: "One was about "delete places" in indexing option." A: Sorry, can't understand you on this. Please explain again. There is no 'delete places' in Windows. There is actually a place in "Control Panel/Indexing Options/Click the Modify button/Indexed Locations" Here one can un-check selected locations to index, also. Re: Q2: "...another thing I wasn't sure about was page file size. It requires to double the RAM..." I totally agree with Thomas here, the Tweaklist are a bit dated in this regard... ;-) /jonas
  2. For Windows 8.1 and 10, you'll need WATCHOUT 5.5.2 or newer. /jonas
  3. Pawan, Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Monitor is an output device, so that will not work so well. You'll need Mini Recorder to capture video, and it should work. /jonas
  4. AMD & Eyefinity is also limited to maximum 6 outputs, with or without MST-hubs. /jonas
  5. Benjamin, Please see my comments below: Im putting together my new systems, and currently use the w7100 with EVGA DP hubs to get 6 sync'd outs. Have been seeing a lot of threads about the Asus HD 7970 and it is drastically cheaper. I was hoping someone could share some insight on the 7970, does it support sync'd outputs? No, it does not support a S400 framelock/genlock card. any red flags to know about? Apart from not being available anymore? - a heavy card, makes it a bit risky in a touring PC. - occupying three PCIe-slots, making for less add-on cards my systems are road systems that travel for Large Scale A/V staging and reliability is a must. If so, then AMD FirePro W7100 or for 6 outputs, the AMD FirePro W9100, is the obvious choice. /jonas
  6. Do the videowall really need native input per Display as you describe? (ie 1920x1080, I presume?) This will be seriously heavy on the content creation side, and also playback hardware will have to be very fast. As Thomas describes, and mentioned many times here, WATCHOUT will only output through one graphics card per Display computer/License. WATCHOUT Multi-output: WATCHOUT Multi-output ONLY works with one graphics card. That one graphics card may have up to six (6) outputs, provided the graphics card vendor includes driver support for multiple outputs under DirectX/Direct3D in 3D mode. All outputs MUST be the same resolution AND refresh rate. http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1572-watchout-technical-notes-2015/ Normally one uses the monitors internal split-function to divide a 1920x1080 signal over a 2x2 or 3x3 screen setup. Is this a possibility here? /jonas
  7. Could be found here, I think: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/7-christie-lx505-control/?hl=lx505 Or by searching with "lx505" as term /jonas
  8. For the Barco/Projectiondesign F32 Series there's two Warp&Blend-boxes, if needed, WB1080/WB2560. http://www.barco.com/en/Products-Solutions/Options-accessories/Boardscards/Warp-blend-box.aspx http://www.barco.com/en/Products-Solutions/Options-accessories/Boardscards/Warp-blend-box_1.aspx As mentioned, not too cheap...they can do some nifty stuff though. Primarily used for simulaton & VR. Jacques solution above was what I would've done, too. The Barco (Folsom) ScreenSHAPER, that's a really old one, those were the days, I'm old too : http://www.barco.com/en/Products-Solutions/Visual-display-systems/Display-management/ScreenSHAPER-Video-Mapping-System-corrects-distortion-created-when-an-image-is-projected-off-axis-or.aspx /jonas
  9. Thanks Bill for your valuable insight into this subject! Good for me to know, too... /jonas
  10. Torbjørn, I do know that the RLM-W projectors can only handle one concurrent connection ie not able to handle both a Projector Toolset connection AND an external connection as WATCHOUT, simultaneously. So it's probably either or in this case, I'm afraid. /jonas
  11. It could both be EDID- or fiber-issues but you do not give any info on the content used, like bitrate, codec etc? /jonas
  12. I would suggest that you use EDID-managers on your outputs. It's always is/has been recommended for multi-output. This has less to do with your hardware or WATCHOUT, than with your connection to the display/s in question. With EDID-managers on all outputs, you'll know for sure that the graphics card sees a signal, on all outputs. /jonas
  13. "with 1080i25 it really works though the source signal is 1080i50" This is just different naming conventions for the same signal, albeit a bit confusing... (and not explained well in the manual, either...) /jonas
  14. MisterK, re: Q: can you decribe how virtual displays works ? I would suggest you look here, some good info to be found there: http://www.dataton.com/training /jonas
  15. "Does anyone know if it's possible for Watchout to utilize Nvidia's audio driver (which supports true 7.1), which in turn would allow us to de-embed the audio from the HDMI signal?" I don't think this is supported. Most motherboard 7.1 audio and some separate soundcards are. WATCHOUT 6 expands audio capabilities: http://academy.dataton.com/recipe/multi-channel-audio-playback /jonas
  16. Normally in WATCHOUT you pre-split your content when reaching these limits. In your case into 3 1920x1200 slices, including the overlap/edgeblend region, one per Barco HDX-W20 Flex. Reference WATCHOUT 5 User's Guide, Chapter 8 - Commands - Pre-split - page 140. /jonas
  17. I would recommend you to stay at the recommended bitrates. /jonas
  18. Here are two suggestions: 1) Projectionist, for iOS/Android, can create nice testpatterns as part of it's arsenal: http://www.neodarque.com/Projectionist/About 2) WATCHOUT Display Builder, for MacOSX/Windows, a REALLY nice application from Matthew Keane: http://matkeane.com/project/watchout-display-builder-app http://forum.dataton.com/topic/794-feature-requests-post-here/page-8?do=findComment&comment=6572 /jonas
  19. This discussion might help: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1532-suggestions-for-small-form-factor-wo-computer/ /jonas
  20. NNinja, Re: Datapath Again, VisionRGB-E/AV/HD4 and VisionRGB PRO/PRO-2 does NOT share the same driver. http://www.datapath.co.uk/company/partnerships/item/86-Vision-stand-alone-application,-drivers-and-SDK VisionRGB PRO/PRO-2 needs a PCI-slot, VisionRGB-E/AV/HD4 are PCIe-based. For VisionRGB PRO/PRO-2 one need a separate driver: http://www.datapath.co.uk/downloads/rgbprodownload.htm This might account for some of your issues. Dataton has run both 3 x VisionRGB-E2s + Vision SDI2 (8 inputs) simultaneously and 4 x VisionHD4 (16 inputs) simultaneously, at Full HD. This should work on a properly configured system, on proper hardware. Re: Blackmagic It's unfortunately a well known fact that Blackmagic cards are picky on which hardware it runs properly on. That has been discussed here many times, here for example: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/563-decklink-studio/?do=findComment&comment=2354 /jonas
  21. The confusion stems from the fact that the newer series Vision E/AV and Vision RGBPRO does NOT share the same driver. Vision RGBPRO is EOL:ed and an old analog only card. To my knowledge, there's no issues fitting multiple cards (2+) in one PC, as long as the motherboard can handle it. /jonas
  22. Ken, I'll suggest you look into this recent thread: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1610-need-a-solution-for-hd-sdi-output/ WATCHOUT is inherently a progressive system by design ie I don't think you can output an interlaced signal from your graphics card and expect WATCHOUT output to work. /jonas
  23. 1) Have you tried to put your mask image on an Auxiliary Timeline instead? Easy to turn on/off and are always on top of the Main Timeline, especially if Stacking Order -> "Always on Top" is selected. P209/153 in the manual 2) Ctrl + E does exactly that. P128 in the manual. /jonas
  24. You need to output as QuickTime Animation/Millions+, I belive. That is the only codec choice that support Alpha-channel, as far as I know. /jonas
  25. Having components on a recommended spec, does not free the user or his/her supplier from checking that the motherboard of choice, can accommodate the chosen setup and its components properly... That said, this is what I've found on Supermicro's website: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon/c600/x10sra.cfm Expansion Slots PCI-Express 4x PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots (runs at 16/16/NA/8 or 16/8/8/8) 2x PCI-E 2.0 x1 (in x4) slots PCI-E slot #1 supports (x4) and slot #4 (x16) is disabled when an Intel Core i7-5820K is installed Which slot are you using? /jonas
