  1. Yes, indeed. That is the way they are currently working - doing a init at the beginning - but I'll definitely continue to use every off air day to see what the problem could be from. Tnx for the idea of using a standby layer - it's defintiely a good one.
  2. Hi! Source check - first thing we've checked. It seems OK, signal is coming from an SDI matrix controlled by a GrassValley tv mixer. Directly connected SDI monitor to the end of the cable - signal is OK Cable checked - also did with the signal check. We changed the cable twice It is definitely not the cable between the PC and the monitors - this problem on the video happens ONLY when there is lice SDI input and only during the init, after that it's stable Although everything seems fine yesterday we were talking to connect direct SDI cameras... I don't know, just to double check Software check -signal is dropping also on the direct Blackmagic preview
  3. Well, according to the motherboard manual it can accomodate 2 PCIx16x cards and according to the Blackmagic it can work in x8 When we were with the 5820 processor we've tried on Slot 1, Slot 2 and Slot 3 (all of the PCI-E3.0). Now with the 5930 processor we tried on Slot 1, Slot 3 and Slot 4 All test are together with the engineer from the provider This is the link with the problem
  4. It is definitely not the processor (and btw the 28lane 5820 is also on the recommended specs) We have installed a 40lane i7 (59xx) and the problem is still staying. I will shortly post a video Any ideas? It is now urgent, they are having live shows every day Could it be the Win8.1? I don't really want to do a downgrade if I'm not sure
  5. You are all correct. I didn't say it's an universal problem but there is a problem Most probably it's caused because our supplier chose to put a C612 MB (Supermicro X10SRA +i7-5820K). Of course we read the motherboard manual prior to posting here, it says it can work in 16/16/NA/8 or 16/8/8/8.. and we checked for settings in the bios and even changed the slot (which resultet in better but still not satisfactory performance) ... but reading now the processor datasheet it seems it can work only with 28 lanes We'll see...
  6. Hi all! Fresh info from a new integration project we just did in a tv broadcaster. Display cluster build according to the last specs, including W9100 display card, RAIDs, etc... Win 8.1 Pro x64... latest bios/ drivers/ etc... 24hour live test of the computer prior to the WO installation We chose Blackmagic Decklink Duo (Dual SDI input) as a capture card since it dual input was the request and it was relatively best card comparing price/ quality. Although it's written that Decklink Duo works even on a x4 slot in fact it doesn't perform good - there is a black flicker when live feed is provided to the screen (even when only one of the inputs is used). After moving to a faster slot problems are solved (for now and, hopefully, for ever)
  7. Technically there is one more way of "mapping" keys. There is a little piece of freeware software that is mapping keys to Midi commands. With a MIDI/OSC bridge on the production PC you can map more keys... Or you can use TouchOSC on a remote iPhone/iPad/tablet to send commands... or a simple midi controller M
  8. Wiesemann, although there is no direct way I suppose you know that there is a way by installing OSC bridge on the production PC
  9. Good luck with the new job Jonas and great thanks for all the help you`ve provided
  10. Hi! Tnx for the suggestions. First what I've checked before posting was the network (physical connection, IP address, ping). I've forgotten to mention in the post that everything seemed fine - ping was going correctly, remote connection via WO was OK, etc... we've even changed the LAN cable and the switch just to be sure because it really seemed as a network problem... Since it was after 20 hours of setting up we couldn't really think of anything else and I did the post. While waiting for the post to be approved we've decided to do one final thing - we had noticed that the problem was not all the time, sometimes the videos started and after a while (different points in time) computer disappered - so our final decision was to recode all the videos. As usual for our geographical location all videos were received let's say 30mins prior to the rehearsal and we hoped everything was done according to our requirements. So the result - after starting the recoding we saw that they were in some strange version of AVC codec... Adobe Media Encoder even had problems recoding... Finally over the night we managed to recode them to h.264, uploaded them, checked everything and we were ready for the final rehearal before the live event. There were no problems, it happened to be a very good tv concert. Tnx for all the suggestions and the help once more.
  11. Hi all! I've received a set of strange messages from a display machine that was working until yesterday with another show. The messages are: Runtime error: Command load: Display Address or Output not found Runtime error: Command activate; Display Address or Output not found Runtime error: Command: gotoTime; Not applicable in current state When connecting via remote to the problem machine everything seems perfect with the display configuration... machine is tweaked according to the list and it was working with no problems... no loses in ping... Strange for me and my team... Any ideas ?
  12. Acronis or Norton Ghost... we are using both and I don't really rely on the Windows backup. Our IT guys usually use a multiboot USB flash drive that has all OS installs we need as well as data & password recovery soft + the image
  13. I have experience with Kinect for PC (the old one, not ver2) but I think there are adapters on the market that allow using Xbox Kinect with a PC
  14. If you insist on MIDI or OSC (better option for me) I would suggest that you use Lemur (https://liine.net/en/products/lemur/specifications), it supports sending the same message to several recipients simultaneously. But maybe there is a way to configure Watchnet for controlling 2 clusters, the Dataton guys will surely respond and comment
  15. Correct, but you've introduced Watchnet this year
  16. Yes, I've tried it successfully on a few events, especially for Apple maniacs who wanted to control the show via their iDevice
  17. I have tested Dante Virtual Sound card (downloaded from audinate website and using a license I have) successfully for 2 channel audio. Unfortunately couldn't do the multichannel audio
  18. Jonas, what about TouchOSC bridge installed on the production machine ?
  19. Hi and tnx for the reply! You are quite right, besides being really closed on info M1 is also not a very functional console. I will get the ArtNet input info and post it here later Regarding the other question - what do I expect - well, nothing really, it's the curiosity that drives me, I just want to check if I'm able to do the connection between the M1 and WO, not only via ArtNet but also via MIDI and OSC
  20. Hi all! Has anyone achieved controlling WO via Martin M1 console (according to the specs it supports Artnet)? I'll need some help regarding commands and connecting maybe, I haven't done it yet
  21. I would suggest using Watchnet or TouchOSC... I've used TouchOSC with good results, tomorrow is our first live event with Watchnet .
  22. By saying Watchout 5.xxx doesn't support it - do we get a clue that maybe Watchout 6.xxx will do ?
  23. I think it depends on the number of outputs you want. I have several 7990 and I'm quite happy with them
  24. Just as a guess.. what file system you use for the Drobo? If it's not recognized by the Windows OS by default maybe you'll have to install an additional software
  25. Tnx for the reply. You are correct , this is the way and it's working for the very beginning but the only problem I'm still facing is that the uploading to the webserver is replacing the file. So maybe I have to think of a script that is periodically renaming a file to the name that is uploaded to WO.
