  1. But then again... this is what it says: So the PC resolution would be 50/60Hz.... right?
  2. hmmm how did i miss that... Well i guess that one's out the window then... Thanx guys!
  3. Hi Adela! Thank you for your quick reply! At the moment we use BlackMagic Intensity Pro cards, but i'm not too happy with them, as they are mainly Video capture cards and most of the capturing we do is Computer screens. The cards limit me to 1080i resolutions at 24, 25 or 30Hz, where i want to capture 1920x1080p @60Hz or more... And they also just capture one input at a time... Thats why we are exploring some possibilities to swap it for something else
  4. Anyone have any experience with these? StarTech PCI Express HD Video Capture Card 1080p30 – HDMI / DVI / VGA / Component Would there Be any reason for me to assume it would not work with watchout? Thanx in advance!
  5. I have my equipment back and am ready to had you guys the show we were having problems with in Barcelona. Would you prefer a WeTransfer link or Dropbox? or i could put in on my own server for you to download, but that will take you a longggg time, because my upload speed here is next to nothing at the momoent... Also, i should say i was misinformed earlier about the amount of time it took for the show to get out of sync... wasnt a really short time, but about 6 hours... but still, a difference of at least one second in 6 hours is a lot i think. But let me know how you would prefer me to supply you with the show.
  6. hmmm well there's that explanation out the window then... :-) the search continues...
  7. Yep... was afraid that's what i should have done... thank you for confirming, at least now i know
  8. Hi guys! Another quick question! The situation: 4 55 inch screens side by side, powered by 1 or 2 display pc's, depending on the setup. 4x 1920x1080 output 1x 7680x1080 videoproxy to be played on the 4 screens now i wonder... when i put the screens side by side, i always run into those nasty bezels... thank god for seamless plasma i would say... but i cant always use those screens... normally i would just shift the different displays apart a little to compensate for the bezels being in the way and make sure all the dimensions are correct when something is displayed across multiple screens. but this doesn't seem to work when working with a videoproxy. Is this because the (in this case 4) pre-split videos are linked to the screens and therefor will always be shown on the screens in full, no matter the side and position of the display? I hope there is a way to compensate for the bezels... because videoproxys themselves work perfect...
  9. Hi Jonas! Definately will, truck should be back from Barcelona tomorrow, so i will get the files to you as soon as i can! thanx!
  10. well that's not very nice of Watchout... LOL But that does indeed sound like a very plausible explanation... definitely going to look into that one when i have the setup here. THANX!
  11. Haven't been able to do this yet... Show was running at Mobile World Congress... But as soon as i get my stuff back i'm going to try! Thanx for the quick reply!
  12. Hi guys! I have been experiencing a strange but SERIOUS synchronisation problem this week... The situation: 2 display pc's, both driving 2 screens, so 4 total, all next to eachother. Each screen runs at 1920x1080, so total of 7680x1080 pixels. Each PC uses an HDMI and a DVI output, both sent to the screens via HDMI to CAT6 converters I had to run 2 videos alternating, first one 15 seconds, videoproxy and the second one 2 minutes, also a videoproxy. Both videos were MP4 videos, 30fps. to make things easy, i put both videos in a composition and put the composition on the main timeline, set to loop and free run. Starting up, everything looks ok, but after about 15 minutes, the 2 display pc's are almost a whole second out of sync! Is there some rule against videoproxys in compositions? Because after putting the videos on the main timeline and placing a play control cue to loop it back to 0:00 everything seemed to be in order... the 2 machines are shuttle computers, Intel Core i7 3 Gig processor with SX58 motherboard specs: http://dropbox.rend.tv/SPECS/Shuttle%20Specs.htm heres a video of what we saw after about 15 minutes. the first of the 4 screens isnt in the video, but you can clearly see the sync difference between the 2 pc's... http://dropbox.rend.tv/SPECS/VID-20140225-WA0000.mp4 Oh and we're running the latest version of Watchout I really hope someone can tell me anything about this problem, because it took me way too long how to get it to run as intended, since i did not know i was doing anything i shouldnt.... Thanx in advance guys! Frank Doeve R&D Communications BV The Netherlands
  13. ok, so i'm checking out the PDF's of the different configurations, but i'm not really at home in the world of PC hardware... why would i pich which configuration...? My guess is we will be going for the ASUS RADEON HD7970 card to have the 6 outputs... And after a quick google i learnt that Ivy Bridge is newer, faster and more efficient than Sandy Bridge... so that might be the way to go... But that's about it for me... Is there anyone who could explain a little why i would pick what motherboard for example? Thanx a bunch! Frank
  14. Good morning! I just noticed something weird on 2 shows i'm working on. After finishing the shows, i thought i would be wise and consolidate both of them to new clean folders, so all the unwanted clutter would be gone. Funny thing was that after opening the consolidated shows i found that my texts, that i made in watchout, were either missing completely from both the presentation and the media window, or in the media window, but not showing in the presentation... should i have made a setting before consolidating? could be i forgot... If anyone knows, would love to know! Thanx in advance Frank Doeve R&D Communications The Netherlands
  15. Hey all! I have been poking around a bit in the examples given in the watchout cookbook and having a lot of fun with them, but... Rightnow i am trying to get the twitter thingy to do what i want and i'm definately not succeeding at it.. what i would really like to create is a ticker at the bottom of the screen which scrolls right-to-left showing tweets from one search. The example from the cookbook works like a charm, but i cant seem to get the messages to appear side-by-side instead of below one another.. Does anyone (with a lot more AS3-knowledge than myself obviously...) have any idea on how i could get this going? Thanx in advance! Frank Doeve R&D Communications BV The Netherlands
  16. Jumping right in... Has anyone ever used Flash to build a remote app for android? I often use Flash to create touchscreen remotes for WO shows and want to try using an android tablet. Flash has the option to export for android, but would this work...? If anyone has ever done this i would love to hear! Frank Doeve R&D Communications The Netherlands
  17. Thank you both! i will get to work on this immediately! Start from scratch and paying attention to frequencies
  18. Thanx for your replies! The problem i am seeing doesnt just happen around the seams of the multiple monitors, it will happen smack in the middle of one too. And i have seen the problem not just with the seamless plasmas, have also seen it happen with projection and edge blending.. The pictures i'm moving around aren't Bitmaps. I mostly use PNG format or PSD (for ease of adaption and the transparency), could there be a problem in the format? The specs of the machines: http://dropbox.rend.tv/SPECS/Shuttle%20Specs.htm Must say i have seen the problem before, using a 100% different setup, so different PC's, different WO version, different Screens, etc.. EDIT: Oh and i forgot to mention i am currently running my show on 2 display computers, each running at 1706 x 960 (weird res, i know, needed for the plasmawall)
  19. Hi all! I have been struggling with a rather annoying thing for quite a while now and i hope someone regicnizes the problem and can help me solve this... here it is: When i take a picture, created in Photoshop, and i make it move across multiple screens from right to left (using position tween) to create something of a marquee effect, i often get a 'stutter' in the movement at random moments. I have tried making the pictures as small as possible (in kB) to make it as easy as possible for WO to create the movement, but this doesnt seem to have any effect. Since i use watchout it combination with videowall a lot (Seamless plasma) the stutter is VERY visible. I have had this issue as long as i can remenber and have seen it using Watchout 3, 4 and 5. Also switching Display computers from Asus Cube PC's (XP) to custom built i7 Shuttle PC's (W7) didn't really do anything in solving the problem.. Am i doing something wrong in using the position tween and should i make the pictures/text move in some other way? or could there be some other setting i am forgetting? Hopefully someone can help me out here.. Thanx! Frank Doeve R&D Communications BV The Netherlands frank@rend.tv
