  1. Hi, I am currently working on a proposal which involves in static visuals of a multi-projector 3D mapped application in an architectural space. I have modeled the venue with 3DS Max and exported the .OBJ data containing UV map. However, when I import the data into Watchout 6.4 I get broken/tiled texture on smooth continuous surfaces. My goal was to fit the visual on to whole surface. You can see what I mean on attached visuals. Any suggestions on proper methodology, plugins, settings etc.? Thank you.
  2. Hi All We have a fixed installation at a museum. We are using Watchout 6.2 for geometric mapping onto a 3d-model in Watchout. The setup uses 3 projectors with overlap, projecting on a physical structure. Usually this works fine, but more than 5 times now over 1 year, we have experienced that Watchout looses its mapping, and from that point on the mapping is not correct, and wan't be correct before we adjust again with the production software. When the mapping is offset, we tried adjusting the projectors to see if the problem could be them moving, but the mapping is offset in a way that projector adjustments would not be able to solve, and therefor not a physical problem, but more likely a software-problem. The installation shuts off each evening and turns on each morning. The Watchout show is startet and shut down from a control-system (Medialon). Does anyone have similar experiences with a fixed installation using the 3d-mapping features? Best regards Kasper
  3. Hello I have a large mapping project coming up. We have been doing extensive tests on a 1/10th scale model of the scenic piece. I have mapped on cars in the past using the 3d OBj technique. So I am familiar with the approach. However I am finding it very difficult to align my projections to the set. I can align some of the projection but not completely snapped perfectly. I spend hours tuning the projections and find It less than perfect all the time I find I don't always understand what calibration points interact with what. I am not able to isolate small areas and lock them in place without skewing the projection some where else. I am wondering if other users have tips and tricks for doing this. How can i use the numbers in the position window to my advantage better. We are hitting the set piece with 2 4K 35000 lumen projectors. I am unable to attach a rendered png of the object but it is a series of "boxes" with a 11 by 20 flat screen inserted. Any tips are welcome Ben Chaisson Lead Watchout engineer FMAV central Branch Toronto
  4. Hello, is it possible to export 3D mapping projector view? I woul like to make visualization of a show and send preview to a clinet, but I can`t find a way how to export the 3D view... Thank you for answer, Jakub
  5. hello now we are trying to make 3D mapping on the creative LED display. and i came out a quetion about resolution while checking the training video [3D TEXTURE USING VIRTUAL DISPLAY]. maybe it`s quite easy thing but i`m not familler with 3D apprication such as Cinema4D or somethig. that`s whyi think i had a quetion like that. in the video there was a file which is 3D model named Car.3ds 359:291pix.and after that he put the file which is named CarMesh.tif 1024:1024 on it. my quetion is how come it`d fix automatic. it`s doesn`t matter resolution? becuase i thought Car.3ds file is smaller than CarMesh. i made 3D model by SKETCH UP to place it on WATCH OUT 6.and after that i put a movie file on it. 3D model`s resolution is about 1000:280.and the movie file was 640:480.of course it put on it automatic but it looked like bad quality. is there any point which is relatied to resolurtion or something on 3D model? or we need to care about something when we export from 3D application? thanks
