  1. Has anyone done a latency test between NDI capture and SDI capture using a Datapath Pro card? I've been doing a lot of research on NDI and it might be a better capture option than SDI. I'm always looking to reduce latency and improve stability, and I have a couple large live video shows coming up this year where maybe NDI would be the better solution. Thoughts?
  2. These are the major components of my Display PC: * Windows 10 20H2 * Watchout 6.6.2 * Nvidia Quadro M4000 * Datapath VisionRGB-E2S When I use Live Input in Watchout, the result is different from the image captured and displayed by Datapath Vision (Utility provided by Datapath). There are color edges in Watchout Display and look like somthing YUV 4:2:0 while the result of Datapath Vision looks perfect. I saw this on different Win 10 (maybe from 1709), different versions of Watchout (6.x) and different Graphcard (AMD W7100). Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks a lot.
  3. Apologies for what is not strictly a Watchout question, but I wondered if anybody has managed to successfully capture a composite PAL source with a Datapath VisionSC-SDI4 card. The Datapath card is installed in a Watchout player (purchased from a Dataton distributor and otherwise working perfectly) currently running v6.2.2. However, I can't get the Datapath to recognise a PAL source on any of the 4 inputs in the Datapath Vision software - so I'm not even getting as far as configuring the video inputs in Watchout. I did wonder whether the Datapath still supports SD formats, but the data sheet for the VisionSC-SDI4 seems to show support for both PAL & NTSC signals (576i25, 480i29.97) https://www.datapath.co.uk/datapath-products/video-capture-cards/visionsc-range/visionsc-sdi4 The camera is a HikVision DS-2CC12D9T which outputs either PAL or NTSC on the composite output. https://www.hikvision.com/uploadfile/image/9900_E资料模拟相机NewtemplateDatasheetD5T(18)DS2CC12D9T(A).pdf The reason I don't use a HD signal is that the camera is actually used with a legacy motion capture system which is configured for a 4:3 PAL source. Since the camera hangs alongside the main video projector for the show and needs to frame the stage, it would be handy to be able to see what I'm doing while adjusting the camera. Currently I have to use a laptop to VNC into the machine in FOH that's connected to the camera, but I was hoping I could make life a little easier by using the Datapath card to display the live input through the video projector. When the camera is connected - with the same video cable - to the machine running the motion capture software, which uses a Blackmagic capture card, the signal is recognised as a PAL source. Usually I find Datapath cards are very good at auto-detecting the input format, while Blackmagic cards are more picky. Unfortunately I don't have access to the machine right now, and it will be a while before I can try this again, but I was just wondering if I'm missing something obvious... Thanks, and I hope everybody is staying well out there.
  4. I am Building a New Machine and I am vvery confused in Selecting The Capture Card for 4K Output. I Want To Give 4K Output but the thing is it Beneficial to But DATAPATH VisionSC Range HD4+ or Should I buy Vision SC SDI4 as Sdi capture cards are much cheaper. but For the Current & Future Market,Does people Require 4K DVI/HDMI ports or Should I stick to 4K SDI ports.
  5. Hi, In my display server I have 4 dp out . I wanted to use 6 out so can I use Datapath FX4 to achieve that . is it going to run fine with Watchout 6.2
  6. i am facing issue with datapath vision hd4+ /d, only two channel is working ( 1&3), always gets no signal in channel 2 & 4, i have even changed the slot and updated the driver to latest one, still facing the same issue, recently i am facing delay in capturing device about 2 to 3 seconds, please help me to fix this out. Thanks in advance. Display Computer : WatchMax W600 Production Computer : Alienware 17 R4 (Windows 10 Home 64bit)
  7. Hi all, Using the new Datapath VisionSC-SDI4 with the signals that a TV broadcasters are giving us, we have some problems. I sent a ticket to Datapath with this information and I'm waiting for a reply. Specification of the PC - including processor speed PC Player for Dataton Watchout – i7-5930K; Motherboard X99; 16 GB RAM; SSD Samsung 128GB for SO; SSD Samsung 256GB in Raid0 ; FireproW7100 4Gb Graphics Card Operating System Windows 7 Pro 64 bits Application Software Dataton Watchout v6.1.5 but we check the same problem using the Vision Window from Datapath software (at full screen window mode) Datapath Hardware / Software: 2 units of VisionSC-SDI4 with last VisionInstall_v7141 installation driver (after the installation, the firmware of the cards were updated by the program) The exact nature of the problem: We’ve installed in each WATCHOUT players 2 units of VisionSC-SDI4. We are receiving 8 SDI signals in each player – One Capture board unit has 4x 1080i @25fps; the other capture board has 4x 576i @25fps In the Vision Window of Datapath (Datapath software - in full screen at 1920x1080p) we notice a problem in the top of the image of animated loops and conventional images with some speed. We tried all the 8 inputs ( 4 HD and 4 SD) with different source images, HD and SD and all the inputs have the same problem. If the datapath window of the software is smaller that the full screen, we don't see the problem occur. Using Dataton software we see the effect in a lower place in the image; the bottom part field it's first to appear, that the top field part. If I trim the top of the signal (1, 5 or 10 pixels), the place of the division of the image will be near the top, always at the same position (indepndently if it's trimmed 1, 5 or 10 pixels). Apply frame blending of the live video input doens't change this. Please see the photos and videos of the link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ls1j7rjfz9dp1kw/AAC2MugN-g5ywg_vYSD3kYLBa?dl=0 We have the new 55VH7 LG Videowall displays connected to the output of the FireproW7000. At the beginning we had the output to the Videowall monitors at 1920x1080p @ 60Hz. After changing all the type of set up We changed the output of the PC graphic card to 1920x1080p @ 50Hz (to tried to see if with 50Hz that is the double of the 25Hz the system had a different result, we check and uncheck the "Aplly frame blending" in both refresh rate with the same result). But the problem continues. All the HD_SDI signals came from a broadcast system on the Broadcast Rack. We’ve connected a HD-SDI monitor to the same cables and we don’t have this problem. We've connected the same sigmal to a Blackmagic SDI>HDMI connected directly to the videowall monitor and it's OK. At the Source desk they don’t have any configuration to change, because we receive the same signal from a HD-SDI distributors and the other connected equipment receive the signal perfectly. It looks like a sync problem. They asked if we can put a REF signal in, but we can’t do that in the VisionSC-SDI4 Did you had this kind of problem in a capture card using Watchout? What was the way to solve? Thanks
  8. Hi All! Does anyone has experience with that capture card? Is it possible to mix the types of input signals, i.e. 3x SD-SDI and 1x HD-SDI and use all of the simultaneously as inputs in WO ?
  9. Hello there, I'm facing a strange problem with the new acquisition card VisionSC-SDI4 from Datapath. When something is pluggeg into the first input, everything works fine. I can add/remove SDI cables in/from the other tree inputs, displaying live videos on the stage or the No Signal message if nothing is plugged. But when I remove the cable from the first input, the other three freeze, stuck on the last acquired frame. The live videos resume to their normal behaviour once I plug back the cable in the first input. Note that this issue doesn't exist in the Vision's preview windows tool, only in Watchout. It has been tested with Watchout 6.1.4 and Watchout 6.1.5, on four servers built in the same configuration (mb: Asus X99-A/USB 3.1; proc: Intel Core i7-5930K; 16Go RAM). Has anybody encountered a similar issue? Any idea about what could cause such a behaviour, or how to fix it? Thank you.
  10. We are looking into purchasing a Watchmax to drive a mosaic consisting of 12 different size monitors each with a native resolution of 1920x1080 and DisplayPort inputs. This means different pixel densities. The displays are also arranged in an abstract manner. So I know from a pixel-space perspective it is possible to push 12x displays at the 1920x1080 resolution because driving four 4K displays is the same 33.2MP and, from what I understand, with DisplayPort 1.2a it is possible to send multiple streams via a single DP connection. I do not yet know if the monitors have DisplayPort loops, but if they do, or by using a DP splitter like this one, is it possible to connect and drive all 12 displays independently from a single Watchmax?
  11. Hi So we are about to upgrade our capture cards. We use cameras with HD-SDI outputs, 1080p 25/50/60 (what ever works) Number of inputs is not important to us, but more is always nice to have. Latency however is key, as we are trying to get close to lip-sync. After reading on the forum and talking to other users, we are going for Datapath cards. Now I have to choose between: VisionSC-SDI4 http://datapath.co.uk/video-capture-cards/visionsc-range/visionsc-sdi4 VisionSDI2 http://datapath.co.uk/video-capture-cards/vision-range/visionsdi2 So the SDI4 seems like a newer model and has more inputs, also it costs less. It needs more bandwith, no surprise with the extra inputs. However there are no mentions of it on this forum :/ Then there is the SDI2. The one thing this got going for it is that there are many users on this forum successfully using it. And datapath mentions Watchout on their webpage.. So which should I order? Any recommendations ?
  12. Hi, We just recently had a show using WO 6.0.2 with no problems. We had video capture (Decklink) and 1 laptop feed through our VisionRGB-E2S everything worked fine. Last Saturday, we had another show and, using the same 2 PCs (main & backup) we could not capture anything on our E2S, only the camera feed through the decklink worked. We got another PC with an old analog Datapath (VisionPro) and it worked. We now checked ALL drivers, settings... exchanged parts from our various PCs and the only success we had was that we could see the capture after a reboot of the display PC. But only when touching the media item for the first time. Once, we left the media item, the feed never comes back until another reboot. In short, we tried really everything and the only thing that worked, was downgrading our systems back to WO 5.5.2. Now all is working. This seems to be a major glitch in v.6. Is there a fix for it? (I checked an old post with a very similar problem, but we tried all these remedies to no avail - http://forum.dataton.com/topic/424-52-does-not-see-visionrbg-capture-while-51-consistently-does/?hl=datapath&do=findComment&comment=1477) I hope somebody has the answer....
  13. Hi. The capture with Datapath visiorgb it is not possible with de version 6 of watchout if downgrade to version 5 works god. What can i do? Thanks
  14. Know that it is normal to have a little delay in datapaths, how do I minimize it? I have used in 1080p 60.
  15. Hola compadres! ive got some issues getting my inputs to behave like i want in Watchout 6. display computers, 2x: motherboard: MK Asus X79-DELUXE CPU: Core i7-4930K s2011 3.4 GHz 10MB Memory: Corsair 16GB (4-KIT) DDR3 VENGEANCE 1,5V LOW Graphics: AMD FirePro W7000 4GB/GDDR5 + s400 sync card Input: 2x datapath rgb-e2s, 1x decklink sdi Screens being used is 8x NEC 55" unv, with 1080p@50 via displayport from GPU to screens. Signal to inputs are coming from a barco pds 902 3g, outputting 720p@50 via SDI. The issue is that when the input is showing over the two display computers, the input cant fade up nicely. Ive tried having an auxillary open with the input Active with opacity 0, and having 1-10 seconds of 0% opacity and then fading up, but usually one of the displays goes black and then pops up instead of fading. It doesnt happen everytime, but way too often to be comfortable with it with important clients. When using the decklink sdi card, that is synced up with the same genlock as the displays. The datapath cant be locked, but gets a sort of sync from the dvi if I remember correctly. I thought the pds could be the issue, so tried it out with a genlocked Folsom image pro instead, but the same behaviour. ive tried splitting the sdi signal and feed the decklinks with a separate signal, and also tried looping it through the first card. im running out of ideas, but maybe there is something simple ive simply forgotten. Thankful for any input (pun intended), Robert
  16. I have got Watchout 5.5 and recently purchased a Datapath VisionRGB-E2S, to add to the existing blackmagicdesign decklink studio card. However since installing the datapath card windows no longer sees the blackmagic. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
  17. Hello All, I have four computers with a compliment of Datapath cards: 2 with a Vision SDI2, and 2 with both a Vision SDI 2 and a Vision RGB-E1S DVI Capture card. Is there a way to turn off the no signal frame counter whilst passing inputs in Watchout (I've also reached out to Datapath)? I have an option for turning off the text (I presume it's this text) in the Vision software, but it doesn't seem to translate to Watchout (provided it should). I'd like to make it such that the cards will go black upon loss of signal to avoid having to reroute to another source downstream to cover for the reroute upstream (it's not always a luxury I have). I could also enter standby mode standby in the Watchout or go to black in the timeline, but depending on the show, that's not always desirable either. Thanks! Tim Monnig MooTV
  18. Hi When I switch to Datapath inputs, the captured feed freezes in a few seconds. I have to Offline/Online back and forth to go on. Tried with 3 different computers. Decklink input is just fine though. Drivers and Watchout are all latest version. Regards Efe Ersoy
  19. Hey All, I'm working on a permanent install that involves 12 channels of Watchout covering 84 seamless LCDs inside a semi trailer. The system has been working fine for a few years, but they recently wanted to do some upgrades. We kept the same core2 blade servers by Cubix, but upgraded to SSDs and upgraded the input cards from Blackmagic Intensity to Datapath VisionRGB-e1s cards, in each machine. I have one computer that keeps getting blue screen hardware errors that crash the whole computer... sometimes the computer doesn't even want to boot back up. I THINK I traced the hardware issue to the datapath card because when I tell watchout to not see the input on that display, everything seems to be running fine. I've tried drivers, because Datapath comes out with new drivers like every 2 days, but none seem to make a difference. Any Ideas? THANKS!
