  1. Hi, we're line testing and shaking out our new Watchout rig, and the Display machines are taking commands and displaying most of the monitors. However, we are unable to 'manage' them using the VNC service built in. We can remotely shut them down, etc but the VNC throws an error of unable to connect to service. Is this easily fixable? I am a few hours away from just installing TightVNC and throwing my hands up. I need to get this working. Any info would be appreciated! 2. Hi all, has anyone had an issue with Watchpax 4 where a large section of a particular display "jumps" up a few pixels (say 10 or so) randomly? At first I thought it was the (active) DisplayPort converters or cable, but after a reboot, the outputs swapped around so Display #2 now comes out of a different physical output (Weird? Related?) on the Watchpax (and projector and cables etc). So I'm fairly confident it's Watchpax/Watchout. Like I say, I'm really thrown by the fact the issue is now happening on a different projector/cable after some rebooting, with the display number being the only constant. I'm running v6.1.6 - it had recently upgraded from v6.1.5 as it is brand new. I'm reluctant to use v6.2 because other parts of the installation need to be v6.1.6 due to bugs in 6.2 with our multi-channel audio interfaces. Only content in the show is 2x .pngs for lineup grids. Four outputs (three rotated 90-degrees, one currently disabled because I'm not using that projector yet!). UPDATE - This is happening on two different Watchpax 4's with different content/setup etc. They came from the same batch. The issue is still on Display no. 2, but physical outputs are different.
  3. I am working with a system of five display computers. One of the computers is transferring files that it does not need for the show. This in turn, is filling the hard drive. Every time I go online the computer wants to transfer files that it has no room to store. This computer is not displaying any of the files it wants to transfer. I have tried updating the cache with no change. Any ideas or thoughts welcome. Thanks
  4. Hello Am I correct in saying that artnet can only be output from the production computer? Is there a way of forcing the display computer to output the artnet rather than production? I am wanting to take the production PC out of the system and run the watchout show via the display cluster protocol, which is working fine at the moment minus the artnet connectivity. Any input (or indeed artnet output is welcome!) Regards.
  5. Sorry this is a simple question and I imagine there is a simple answer, but I have been unable to find it in either the manual or any forum threads. I have a display machine running V5x in a permanent public place under serial control from another system. It has been fine for 3.5 years but recently there has been a problem upstream in the serial network and the WO machine has fallen back to the pre-online Dataton logo. I need to replace the logo with a black screen?
  6. Hello, i work in an audiovisual company in Argentina (mapping and video installations). www.sasami.com.ar We actually own 4 watchout licenses. We are upgrading our 3 display computers. I got budgets based on the 2012's .PDF of this forum. Some components are newer versions of those of the pdf. We only work with XGA projectors (only a few times we use HD projectors). So, our principal need is to achieve 4/6 VGA analog outputs in each display computer (we may have to use miniDP-VGA, DP-VGA or DVI-VGA adaptors) Option 1: -MOTHER GIGABYTE (1150) GA-Z97M-D3H) -1 INTEL CORE I7 4790 -2 RAM KINGSTON DDR3 HYPER-X 8GB 1600MHZ -2 SSD-KINGSTON 240GB SATA3 -1 VIDEO CARD ASUS R9 280X 3GB DDR5 (2miniDP + 1HDMI + 1DVI-D + 1DVI, i think that we may use 4 VGA outputs with this card) -POWER SENTEY MBP-850W -1/2 BLACKMAGIC INTENSITY PRO OPTION 2 (The only difference is the video card): -2 VIDEO CARD SAPPHIRE R9 270X 2GB DDR5 I also found this graphic card with 6 miniDP outputs, do you thing is better than de ones above for 4/6 VGA outputs? -AMD FirePro W600 2GB GDDR5 6 Mini DisplayPort Eyefinity 6 Edition PCI-Express Graphics Cardor -AMD FirePro W7000 4GB GDDR5 4DisplayPort PCI-Express Workstation Graphics Card I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance
  7. So I have recently been having a strange problem within my Watchout system. Randomly (or so it seems) the windows start bar will be visible at the very bottom of the full raster of one of my displays. It will just show up randomly every once in a while and the only thing I can do to get it to go away is to remote into the display computer and relaunch watchout on it. I have tried some different things to try and keep it from happening but none have worked so far. Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem?
  8. Hi All, I will be using Watchout for the first time, these are the hardware specs that my vendor gave me. Please have a look and advise on the same. 4U Industrial Cabinet I7 4770K Asus or Giga z87/97 16 GB RAM RAID 0 of SSD 250GB GPU W5100- 4GB DDR5 I will be also using a DATAPATH VisionRGB e2s2 card and Blackmagic Decklink Studio 4K . Please let me know if its OK? or shall I change something. Thanks....
  9. Hello everyone! Just upgraded to v5 and working on configuring my setup. One problem I'm having is with the new startup script option for Watchout Display. I'm able to remotely power up/down the computers but I cannot get Display to launch at startup. When I go to edit the startup script, the file is empty. I looked through the documentation and did not see an answer. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  10. I have a fairly simple stage set up Q. Stage is a projected image flanked by two vertical monitors. The verticals are basic Sharp HD monitors rotated 90 degrees, but the projector is projecting a 16X9 1920X1080 HD image onto a square 8 foot by 8 foot screen. We plan on blacking out the edges of the projection to prevent projection bleed, but as far as Watchout stage set-up how do I set up the center screen? Do I use the final 8X8 foot size or 1920X1080 pixel size? (Imagery will be flowing across the screens.)
  11. Hello WO community, first sry for my bad english, i try my best and sry if the topic was discussed before but i did not find a satisfying solution. I'm new to WO and by now i tested most of its features. No my question is: Is there a way to do mapping inside of a single Display Area like common mapping software can do or do i need such a software additionally? My goal is to use only one projector for 3 thin but very high canvases. The canvases are parallel but moved in x and z position. It's clear that i could do this perfectly with three Displays, doing the perspective correction individually but in the current situation i only have one projector. thx for help and best regards Johannes
  12. Does anyone know if the Display PC and Production PC be one in the same? If so will they need one or two licenses? Or do they need to be on separate systems that are networked together?
  13. I would like to ask if there is a purely software driven EDID solution, that can dictate to the video card and fix a single resolution to all the ports available across all display pcs. The available solutions are expensive and adds another connector to the chain of connectors, most specially if one has splitters and distribution amplifiers in the mix. Most especially if one has mdp-vga then vga to splitter, splitter to kvm, etc. Especially if one is driving 9 ports at once..having a hardware solution can cost an arm and a leg. Thanks D.
  14. My watchout program and display pc stopped seeing each other... I can go 'online'...but then a minute later, I get the red X on the stage indicating that the connection is lost. The display comupter never stops showing the Watchout logo...which it normally does as soon as I go online. I can ping from each box and see the other box... So outside of watchout, I can connect to the other pc, but not inside watchout for some reason. Setup... Running watchout 5.1 on two Windows 7 boxes (one display, 1 program). Program box is getting its IP dynamically, display box has a static IP of There are no other computers on the network, it is a closed network...and there is no internet connection on the network. The hub is a cisco/linksys e4200. Anyone else have a similar problem...and a solution? UPDATE: It looks like my "Session" has become corrupt somehow... If I start a new stage "session", I am able to go online no problem, and display content, and update no problem. So it isn't a networking issue even though that was the error message I was getting. Anyone run into this situation and have a solution for what seems to be a corupt file of some sort?
