  3. I have some problems with a time schedule in WATCHOUT. It is meant to start playing content at 7 AM and stop at 6 PM, and it worked for a while but now it just plays around the clock and the triggers doesn't work. When I looked at the WATCHOUT LOG it says that the error is: Auxiliary timeline not found. (look at attached picture). Im new to WATCHOUT and this forum so the answer might be very clear for some. Thank you.
  4. I am trying to build a WATCHNET panel that controls the volume of a WATCHOUT show. I am using a previous installation I did early as my template for this project and have copied the input and parameter info. (See photos) I have set up a generic input called volume and a parameter on the audio file that should respond to that input. I checked my old file and it works as expected I try it on the new file and it does not respond. What I'm I missing? WATCHOUT 6.2.2 WATCHNET 1.4 I am trying to use
  5. Hi Everyone, WATCHOUT version 6.4.1 is now available for download! https://www.dataton.com/downloads/watchout Dataton WATCHOUT User's Guide (updated with keyboard shortcuts) Release notes: Dataton WATCHOUT® version 6.4.1 This version mainly contains fixes. Triggering a task in the display software, by setting an input variable, now works correctly. The remote upgrade now works on Dataton media servers that have a fixed IP address set in the startup script. Sending a "setInput" command to the display software, while it has no show running, will no longer cause a crash. Fixed multiple bugs related to multi-editing of displays. Fixed multiple bugs in the text editing dialog. Some changes could be done in the Task Window, without the user being prompted to save the show afterwards. This has been resolved. Fixed multiple bugs concerning playback of presplit images, which could result in a crash in the display software. Resolved an issue where the timecode format wasn’t changed to the selected value. The production software could crash if the selected timecode device was disconnected and timecode control was disabled. This has now been fixed. Fixed a crash bug that could occur when editing display masks. "Check Diagonal" in audio output channel assignment now works. Resolved a crash bug that could occur when a 3D model cue was copied and pasted. Fixed a potential crash bug that could occur when going online on a slow or busy network. The maximum number of decoding threads for H.264/AVC video has been limited to 8 to avoid running out of memory on servers with a high CPU core count. Happy Tuesday! 6. Hi Everyone, We're pleased to announce that WATCHOUT version 6.4 is now available for download! A big thank-you to all beta testers for their invaluable feedback. https://www.dataton.com/downloads/watchout Dataton WATCHOUT User's Guide 6.4 (pdf) Release notes: Dataton WATCHOUT® version 6.4 This version contains some new features, such as MPCDI file import and task folders, and fixes some issues. Multiple Projection Common Data Interchange (MPCDI) file import You can now import display and projector calibration data from MPCDI files. Please consult the user’s guide for more information. Task folders Auxiliary timelines can now be grouped and organized into folders in the task window. The order of timelines, folders, and timelines in folders, all affect the stacking order when rendered. Dragging and dropping tasks to change their order, and place them in folders, has been reworked to be more intuitive. Custom cue colors You can now set custom colors on cues, either on different types of cues through the Preferences dialog, or on individual cues in their corresponding dialog. More new features Manual pre-roll can now be applied on all kinds of media cues, not just video and audio. You can open a capture card control panel on Dataton media servers, where applicable. The task window can now be locked, to prevent any unwanted changes in stacking order, trigger conditions etc. Improvements Cues are always rendered and pre-rolled, regardless of opacity, resulting in smoother playback in cues that are faded in. HAP video can utilize more than 16 logical CPU cores if encoded with more than 16 chunks. This can increase HAP video performance on high-end media servers. Improved overall performance on Windows 10 media servers to resolve some instances of choppy playback. The process of entering or exiting fullscreen mode has been improved. Enhanced NDI performance and stability (update to NDI 3.8) Fixes An issue with preloading from version 6.3 has been fixed. This could cause glitches and/or poor performance of any media playback, when jumping on the timeline or using play/pause cues. The production software will no longer hang if you delete a virtual display device while its corresponding media is being used in a media cue. Replacing any media cue by a DMX media no longer causes the production software to crash. The display software could turn black when connecting/disconnecting a display, if there was no show running. This has been fixed. In Windows 10, the show’s refresh rate was not set correctly on certain displays/projectors. This has been resolved. When calibrating a 3D projector while there were multiple 3D objects on different stage tiers, WATCHOUT placed the calibration points on all those objects, not just those on the same tier as the projector. This has been fixed. Timecode now works with non 44.1 kHz devices.

  11. Hello anyone who can help, I have an iphone 6 with the Newtek NDI app installed connected via Wifi to a Linksys AC1900 router. This is the same router connecting the production and display computer. I can see the live feed in watchout on my production computer just fine, but for some reason I have not been able to see signal through the display. I downloaded and installed the latest Newtek software on both computers. The display computer also had difficulty seeing the signal in the NDI monitor app although I did see signal once briefly. Am I missing a setting on the display computer? I tried setting one of the inputs on the display computer to Newtek, but I don't see a reason that is helpful on the settings I made on the NDI input of the production computer. Thanks in advance

That one graphics card may have up to six (6) outputs, provided the graphics card vendor includes driver support for multiple outputs under DirectX/Direct3D in 3D mode. Irrespectively the number of connectors, DisplayPort or MiniDisplayPort, all outputs over two (2) “legacy” connectors, VGA/DVI/HDMI, MUST use ACTIVE DP/MiniDP—>DVI/HDMI adapters, passive will NOT work. There are 2 different types of ACTIVE DP/MDP-adapters, Single-Link DVI and Dual-Link DVI: Single-Link DVI - cheaper, resolution up to 1920x1200, powered from the DP/MDP-connector Dual-Link DVI - more expensive, resolution up to 2560x1600, powered from separate USB or external PSU. http://forum.dataton.com/topic/93-wo5-multi-output/ Windows 7 SP1/Windows 8.1 Update 1, 64-bit or 32-bit WATCHOUT is a 32-bit application, and supports a 64-bit OS. We recommend to run WATCHOUT under a 64-bit OS, due to the fact that many drivers for capture cards etc, can make use of the extra RAM. 16 GB of RAM is usually a good reference. 16. Hey together, having 3 XI-Media Server with Marian Seraph AD2 Sound-Card and Nvidia Quadro M5000. Watchout Version 6.2.0. When i play a Quick Time MOV with HAP Codec, i have some strange Click noise in Audio. not often and not loud, but so loud that i can not use it. With same File in MP4, I dont have the Problem. But i need to use the HAP files. Restart Computer does no effect. The Sound-Card Settings i checked. Also all other Windows Sounds are all right. Anyway, these Click-Noise comes out of both Server. So the Problem is anywhere in Watchout. Now i did a downgrade to version 6.1.4. and i dont have the Problem anymore. Any Solution for this ? becouse basicly Version 6.2. is nice and i would like to use ;-) best, felix
  17. Hi, we're line testing and shaking out our new Watchout rig, and the Display machines are taking commands and displaying most of the monitors. However, we are unable to 'manage' them using the VNC service built in. We can remotely shut them down, etc but the VNC throws an error of unable to connect to service. Is this easily fixable? I am a few hours away from just installing TightVNC and throwing my hands up. I need to get this working. Any info would be appreciated! 18. At the moment WATCHOUT doesn't work in Windows 10. We are working on a solution and will release an update as soon as possible. This issue has our highest priority and we expect to have a solution in March-April. Until then we recommend Windows 7 Professional. We apologize for any inconvenience! Best regards, Miroslav Andel Chief Software Developer
  19. Hello, Does anyone have demanding WATCHOUT files to stress test computers running WATCHOUT 5 or 6? Looking for Videos and Graphics of various formats to run tests on multiple screens. Any leads will be highly appreciated. Thank you
  20. Hello, I just finished installing version 5.5 and everything looks awesome. I'm especially interested in the new URL Image Proxy feature. I'd love to have a URL-based image in my show, but am having trouble figuring out how exactly to network a live internet connection within my local connection to my display computers. Is there a specific way that you would recommend? Thanks, Jeremy
  21. Hi everybody! I`m new to Watchout, but have experience with a lot of other mediaservers. In our next show we are final using Watchout with two display computers with 3 outputs each, running 1920x1200 on each output. I`m really looking forward to start using Watchout. Our computers have been used for other mediasoftware and are quite up to date. The only thing we need to upgrade is our graphics card. I`ve read a lot of forum posts, and Datatons recommendation for graphics card 2015, but I`m still a bit confused. With this post, I`m hoping you all could help me to get a better overview of how Watchout uses the different GPU`s, what specifications of a graphic card is important, and pros and cons for professional vs consumer cards. I know this has been heavily debated, but I`m hoping we could summarize everything in this post. Here are my questions: - It seems AMD FirePro line is widely recommended. But what are the benefits except that is professional? Better components? Better drivers? More stable drivers? Other things? - As I understand it, Watchout is using DirectX. Would a gaming card that scores high in gaming DirectX performance be good for Watchout or is other functions of DirectX that is more important? (most of the reviews on graphics card is tested on games) - Does the FirePro line have any performance benefits over high spec consumer card? For example the AMD FirePro W7100 versus NVIDIA GTX 980Ti? (about same price range) Or is it basically stability your paying for? - I `ve been building mediaservers for quite some time and have always used NVIDIA cards. And a least, for a couple of years back, it was widely accepted that NVIDIA had better and more stable drivers than AMD/ATI. Word on the Internet has that AMD drivers has improved over the last years. Any thoughts on this? - If we don`t go down the pro line, but are opting for a high end gaming card, any thoughts on GTX 980Ti versus AMD Fury? Or is better to go a step down to GTX970/AMD 390X? Looking forward to hearing your explanations and experience! Best Regards, Einar
  22. Hello, I'm building an application in which there are 2 major components: a python server, which will send telnet commands to WATCHOUT WATCHOUT Production (Version 6.1.7b2) Although most of the telnet commands were successfully sent to WATCHOUT, sometimes I could continuously see a mystery error which makes me feel a bit worried: [0]Error 7 0 "Application in modal state (eg, a modal dialog)" I've checked the documentation and the "7" here means: "General Runtime Error. Other errors, not covered by any of the above cases. Always described further by a string as the second parameter, as well as further information in the third parameter (optional)." So I guess my questions are: What does the "Application in modal state" mean? Is there anything that I should / should not do to avoid this error? Thanks in advance!
  23. Hello, I am trying to update watchpax2 from version 6.1.5 to 6.1.6. The watchout gives the message about different versions and if I want to update. I click ok. The watchpax displays this message: "The WATCHOUT license key can`t be found. Re-trying automatically in a few seconds." If I click "Retry" (with the keyboard connected to watchpax) nothing happens. I tried to swith watchpax on and off, restart watchout etc, but with no result. Thank you for any help, Jakub
  24. Hello everyone, Our company's been running a few tests with a few different machines and versions of Watchout 5 / 6, and we've noticed that the WO Remote (https://www.dataton.com/files/watchout/remote) doesn't work on v6. Can somebody confirm this feature is deprecated? Thanks!
  25. HI, I've connected a MIDI controller (Novation Zero SL MKII) to my production, I've assigned CC to some tween (scale, position ecc ...) and I can change values of this tween with the controller, but I can't make any automation. If i use the controller to make an automation, the watchout doesn't record the values of the keyframe. Thank you all
