Member Popular Post Steve Farris Posted August 28 Member Popular Post Report Share Posted August 28 I'm editing a show in version 7. I am using virtual displays for editing content for LED screens, which then map to my real displays. The real displays are located on the Y axis above where I edit, I have the virtual displays based at the origin of the stage. When I drag a new piece of content from the media window to a timeline, it defaults to the lower left corner of the left most display (which means it is out of my edit view). So I need to either type a zero coordinate on the y axis in the cue properties so I can find it, or I need copy an existing cue and place the new content on it. Is there a way to change where the default media placement goes? Steve
Moderator Josef Swanberg Posted August 30 Moderator Report Share Posted August 30 Hi Steve, There is a feature in WO7, at least in version 7.3.1 (don't know about older versions), that if you select a display, and then drop an asset on a timeline, that cue will be created in the lower left corner of the selected display. Hope this helps

In older versions media would land at the origin but that seems to have changed.

It will pick the display that is furthest down to the left. Same if you have multiple displays selected, it will pick the one in that group that is furthest down to the left. You know you can also place a cue by dragging an asset directly to the stage? Then it will be placed on the active layer of the last active timeline, that is the timeline whose window was last the active window.
