Error in watchpoint

Hi, all!

I have a problem: when I start watchpoint I've got an error

Error 7 0 "Command: load; Address not found. Is network disconnected?"

Error 7 0 "Command: run; Not applicable in current state"

for information.

I have a configured show, which launches with command Watchpoint.exe start.txt

This show worked perfect for more than a year, but this January I've got this error.

No updates, no additional software.

thanks

Dmitriy

The errors shown are responses to the commands in your start.txt file.

It would appear, for some reason, the watchpoint computer IPv4 address

is no longer set to the display IP address stored in the original show.

The first error is the load command feeding back it could not find the IP address stored in the show.

The second error indicates no show is loaded, which is the result of the previous load command failing.

Are there any other network interfaces that might have been inadvertently activated?

You also did not indicate the WATCHOUT version you are using?

Did you update WATCHOUT recently?

There have been changes related single computer cluster operation when no network is connected,

so the version you are using might make a difference in determining the cause.

Worse case, there is a workaround for older versions when no network is connected

using a virtual network interface (standard Windows option, all versions).

But if truly nothing has changed and this problem just started popping up,

you may have more serious hardware issues.

Hi Jim

Could you expand on what those changes are please?

Watchout 5.5

Windows 7 display computer (only one).

This is an installation that needs to run from startup without a production computer.

At present I cannot even add the name of my Cmd.txt file to to Target box of the Watchpoint shortcut properties. Windows error "The name specified in the Target box is not valid. Please make sure that the path and file name are correct". I'm following page 258 of the latest Watchout_5_Users_Guide.

From the WATCHOUT 5.5 Release Notes, available here:

http://www.dataton.com/downloads/watchout/support/Release-Notes-55.html

This essentially replaces cmd.txt with autostart.txt

  • A script named autostart.txt, located in the same folder as the WATCHOUT application, will run automatically when the display software is launched. This can contain display computer protocol commands, which will then be applied automatically every time the software is started.
  • A new "Edit Startup Script" command has been added to the WATCHOUT display software, accessible locally and from the production software (through the Remote Access command). This provides a shortcut to editing the startup command script file, which can be used to define initial settings for a display computer or cluster. This can be used to load shows automatically, and similar functions available in the WATCHOUT display computer protocol.

In the Watchpoint shortcut properties, could there be a space in your path name?

If so, you will need enclosing straight quotes

around the original string if they are not already there,

followed by a space as a separator and then the cmd.txt  entry.

i.e. Target:

"C:\Program Files\Dataton\watchpoint.exe" cmd.txt
