  1. That Moderator is SO strict!

  2. Whoop Whoop! "Built-in text editor Take advantage of the new built-in text editor in version 5.2 to make those really last minute changes, or additions, in your WATCHOUT presentation text – even when you don't have graphics software, like Photoshop, on hand. " Great news! But when will we be able to get our hands on it? Have a successful ISE 2012, regards, David
  3. As this Demo show is an epic 1.4 gigabyte I just though it worth checking before I downloaded it... is this a new V5 show? or is it the spinning fruit show from the version 3.4 / V4 DVD? I'm very interested in Demo V5 shows if anyone has any uploaded anywhere. Regards David
  4. Thanks for the excellent post. I'm awaiting my Watchout 5 keys upgrade and itching to try out some more sophisticated Projection Mapping. Justin Myers posted a "Video Projection Mapping - Proof Of Concept" video on Vimeo did you see it? http://vimeo.com/31920325
  5. I need to have Wifi connection to a v4.3 Display PC approximately 80 metres from the router outside in the bracing Scottish Winter. Any suggestion on what WIFI card to use? Or should i use USB ? Thanks, David
  6. Thanks for the excellent reply. Very in depth. Regards, David.
  7. Sorry to also join in the agreement here. I have had bad experience of 4.3 & Win 7 & 10 channels of audio playing back across 5 machines (as stereo files). I also agree that a seperate XP machine for the audio would be a better workaround. Sadly though another WO licence, a new PC and multichannel sound card are an additional cost not in the budget. I look forward to some real life advice on successful hardware configurations that work with 4.3/4.5 & Win 7. Regards, David
  8. Any clues on how to stop these edge blended pre split movies going out of sync after only 2 or 3 plays. please? 1/ I have tried standard looping - very poor sync which appears very quickly. 2/ Straight line show with multiple copies of the movie in the timeline playing one after the other - again poor syncing. 3/ As above but adding a " jump to" command, after the movie has ended, then pausing for 6 seconds (in an effort to get all the Displays back in sync) - I perceive this is better and we can now get almsot an hour of loops. Additionally the Quicktime movies are also playing back a small 200 meg audio file as well as the Quicktime movie ( one is encoded at 25mb sec and the other movie according to Quicktime Player is 74mb sec). As This is the media I have to make a 12 hour timeline but with more accurate sync than the curent setup. Our work around is for the Creston Controller to play the movie every hour. Does anyone have any tips on smooth PhotoJPEG Quicktime Movie playback in WO? Thanks David
  9. I have 28 Panasonic PDT6000 projectors in two 360 theatre using KVM extenders across Cat 7 (Cat 7 length is 20 metres and 80 metres). I am seeing Colour difference when using the KVM extenders and Cat 7. Running the Displays PCs direct to PC via VGA i have stunningly smooth blend BUTt when using KVM extenders and short Cat5 cables we see vast colour difference between each Projector and we have almost a rainbow effect in the blends. Has anyone else had this problem? Please can you offer some advice? What KVM Products give the best colour & image consistency? Many thanks, David
  10. What's the direct connection Displays method Neil? Thanks D
  11. It's no joke! Win 7 despite all the press does seem to be at odds with Watchout 4 & I presume 5 when it comes to uploads. If their is no need to use Win 7 then I have personally avoided it. I had to laugh at the story of using of a Linksys Router.... after MANY hours of VERY slow uploads on an immense, install bigger than the 2 Cisco Executive Briefing Centers I've worked on (London & Milan). I had suggested we nip along to a PC World type shop in Brussels and buy a separate router/switch and temporarily disconnect the 30 WO Display PCs and use a Linksys type router for uploads. Just so we could get the content into the system quickly & I would take the "cheap" piece of kit home with me :-) Sadly the suggestion was not welcomed with open arms... after all we had top of the range (in my world overly complicated) Network hardware! Maybe Jonas will update the Windows 7 Tweak sheet to include some of these suggestions (if clarified they make an improvement). http://www.dataton.com/downloads/watchout/support/tweak/Windows_7_Tweaking_list_2.0.pdf Regards David
  12. Hi Neil, I have sent SCREAMING emails to Watchout Support (for which I am mightily embarassed now ... not really.... ) regarding slow upload speeds blaming WO 4. Sadly they did not point me in the direction that yours and Jims post has. I am now more enlightened to the "new & improved" network speeds with Win 7. Having experienced the slow uploads on Version 4 I assumed it was an upgrade issue. Now I remembere all the PCs were Win 7. My old dinasaurs are XP so the tests at home have been fine. I must pop in and you can show me yout 5 rig. I'm envious but my NEW 2 v4 keys make me smile. Now go & get back to wathching those Salmon run(?). Regards David The Wandering WO Freelancer
  13. Thnaks Kim, From memory the racks all have Cisco Switches. I will also check the GX cards. We are only using 1024 x 768 (x14) for two 360s and have not had to change the resolution only watch painfully slow uploads. I'm sending the link over to the Techs so they can read your great post. Many thanks David
  14. Holy Mackerel... All these years of Watching slow uploads (especially using Win 7) and we CAN remove the logo? Thanks again.
  15. Jings Batman! After several weeks of watching ever so slow uploads I now have some info to give to the network guys. Watchout was getting the blame and I am now no longer sure Watchout was 100% responsible for the 4hour uploads of 3 gig movies to 14 displays. Thanks for asking the question Neil. Regards David O PS Displays PCs were Core2Duos running Win 7. PPS. IS there a way to quantify what the uplaod speed is during an update? As we are having very slow updates it would be useful to know what speed the network was working at so that we could apportion the blame. i.e is it Watchout? or the network transfer speed?
