  1. I'd start by verifying that the serial port you're using on the Display computer(not production) is COM1 in device manager.

If that's correct, route that serial port back into a laptop or other machine in a terminal software(like putty) and make sure you're getting something back.

If not, feel free to post/send me a link to your project and I'll take a look. PM me for contact info.

  2. Hey Everybody -

    Am I missing something?

Is there a way for media to snap from one corner of one clip to another corner of a different clip? IE - I'm aligning split content side-by-side in a long virtual display and want to line them up from the top right corner of one to the top left corner of the other.

    I could've sworn I did this in v5, but I'm not sure.

    I'm in v6.1.4

    Thanks guys!

  3. As we would like to control WATCHOUT more remotely, we've looked into the Manager codes and the API documentation of the WATCHNET - seems it's the API documentation of com.dataton.watchout.* - of which is a flex application package i suppose? Is there a manual of all Telnet commands / operation available to control WATCHOUT at the moment that we can reference on? It seems that the Telnet Command list in the WATCHOUT 6 manual is not comprehensive - just like the "getAuxTimelines" telnet commands are not discussed in the Manual.

    Agreed -

    Is this documented anywhere?

  4. As long as you're appending a carriage return, I've never had an issue with sending commands 'simultaneously', and this is how I'm using watchout 95% of the time.

I would recommend a delay not for command processing, but for the servers to give them an opportunity to load. Sometimes I do this with the control system, most of the time I let watchout handle it. I typically put a .5 second pre-roll on my cues, the gotoControlCue at that load point(.5 seconds before the cue) and run.

  5. From my experience this is great if you're able to stay 30p on SDI. If you need to drop to 2997 and/or interlaced, the blackmagics come up a little short. I like IPro-IIs but they get expensive. My colleagues like the decimator cross-converters, but I haven't used them myself. I also know a watchout programmer that found an extron HDMI>SDI that he liked.

Looks good - love the 6:1.

  6. Haven't used these specific cards within Watchout, however had had great success with Datapath cards in general both within Watchout and other uses.

    Here's the difference:

    The SC Series(VisionSC-HD4+) has 2x 4K(3840x2160)/30p inputs and 2x 1080/60p inputs

The AV series(VisionHD4) has 4x 1920x1200(max, can be configured for 1080p30 or lower) inputs

    Hope this helps.
