I agree it looks like a sync issue. Do you have a S400 card in the system? I'd try syncing the outputs to the source.

I'd start by verifying that the serial port you're using on the Display computer(not production) is COM1 in device manager.
If that's correct, route that serial port back into a laptop or other machine in a terminal software(like putty) and make sure you're getting something back.
If not, feel free to post/send me a link to your project and I'll take a look. PM me for contact info.

Hey Everybody -
Am I missing something?
Is there a way for media to snap from one corner of one clip to another corner of a different clip? IE - I'm aligning split content side-by-side in a long virtual display and want to line them up from the top right corner of one to the top left corner of the other.
I could've sworn I did this in v5, but I'm not sure.
I'm in v6.1.4
Thanks guys!

You want the Firepro Control Center. No need for the transcode software.
The Firepro Control Center is the only way to access all the Firepro features, including what I think is the most important: EDID emulation.

As we would like to control WATCHOUT more remotely, we've looked into the Manager codes and the API documentation of the WATCHNET - seems it's the API documentation of com.dataton.watchout.* - of which is a flex application package i suppose? Is there a manual of all Telnet commands / operation available to control WATCHOUT at the moment that we can reference on? It seems that the Telnet Command list in the WATCHOUT 6 manual is not comprehensive - just like the "getAuxTimelines" telnet commands are not discussed in the Manual.
Agreed -
Is this documented anywhere?

'Trashcan' is the name that has been adopted by most for the current Mac Pro series, which looks like a very expensive trash can.

As long as you're appending a carriage return, I've never had an issue with sending commands 'simultaneously', and this is how I'm using watchout 95% of the time.
I would recommend a delay not for command processing, but for the servers to give them an opportunity to load. Sometimes I do this with the control system, most of the time I let watchout handle it. I typically put a .5 second pre-roll on my cues, the gotoControlCue at that load point(.5 seconds before the cue) and run.

The Firepros only have two active clocks, so if you are using passive adapters this may happen.
Try using active adapters, and/or emulate one EDID across all outputs.

What video codec are you using?

Sounds like a job for Dynamic Image Server.

Try sending a carriage return, waiting .1s and then the command?

What happens if you set up an AUX timeline with two commands - first the password(default 1234) followed by a carriage return, then 1 second later the command?

External control is always the best option. You don't want additional services running on your display server.

Just a reminder that Watchout can only run on one graphics card.

From my experience this is great if you're able to stay 30p on SDI. If you need to drop to 2997 and/or interlaced, the blackmagics come up a little short. I like IPro-IIs but they get expensive. My colleagues like the decimator cross-converters, but I haven't used them myself. I also know a watchout programmer that found an extron HDMI>SDI that he liked.
Looks good - love the 6:1.

Not familiar with with the WatchMax hardware, but WOL can be enabled either in BIOS or the advanced settings of your NIC drivers in Windows.

Looking at the specs on the K4200, it's only capable of streaming 2 outputs on each DP1.2 port(total of 4). So it would appear you're out off luck in this instance.
For the record, I've had fantastic results with 6 1080/30p outputs on the Firepro W9100.

Just pointing out: It appears you are not accounting for a projection blend in the size of your content(assuming you have projectors with a 1920-wide raster). Before you create the content, just want to make sure you've considered it.

One way to make sure you don't get this message is to place the 3d object, and the displays (3d projectors) looking at it, on a separate stage tier.
Does this mean the object needs to be in a layer that only appears on that tear, or can the layer keep its default settings? Just curious...
Thanks!

Is it possible to place the pause cue 0.5 seconds(half a second) before the start of the cue? Give the display servers an opportunity to pre-roll into the clip(s).

Looking at this image specifically, it looks like projector placement/throw is to blame here. Increase the physical layer resolution covering that surface area and you should see improvements.

I typically solve this with a control system such as AMX. This can be solved very easily as well as provide a custom touch panel or web interface. It can also then communicate with other aspects of your show.

Haven't used these specific cards within Watchout, however had had great success with Datapath cards in general both within Watchout and other uses.
Here's the difference:
The SC Series(VisionSC-HD4+) has 2x 4K(3840x2160)/30p inputs and 2x 1080/60p inputs
The AV series(VisionHD4) has 4x 1920x1200(max, can be configured for 1080p30 or lower) inputs
Hope this helps.

I've always solved this with pre-split MPEG2s. I've heard of people having success with ffmpeg but I've never tried. I also in a pinch have used VLC to transcode but it never gave me warm and fuzzies.

I currently have one server playing back 8 4k clips simultaneously with no issue using h264. I typically like MPEG2, but I've been limited lately by size and haven't yet taught myself ffmpeg.
PM Me and I'll send you the Adobe Media Encoder preset I use.
