Hi Helge, Thanks for helping us by sending the file. This is not an bug but just an "cosmetic" error that the system can not extract the information from the multi channel wave file and "plot" a waveform from it in the cue on the timeline. Hm.. sounds like a problem with the trigger mechanism. We have seen this in some cases with version 5.1. We have a beta version that I can send to you which contains a "fix" the might solve this problem. The reason we have not released this version is the soon to be released version 5.2 which have this "fix" included. There are several ways to go, using auxiliary timelines which is my favourite, external control of the opacity track which is overkill in this case and the probably easiest way using a composition in free-running to black-out the image on the screen. What you basically do is create a composition including a black image at the same size as the image you want to fade-out. Make an opacity track and fade-in the black image inside the composition at the same rate you want to fade out your image on the main timeline. Make the black image cue in the composition 1h long to be safe. Put the composition on the main timeline on a layer above the image you want to fade-out and make it free running. If you trigger the composition it will start the fade and continue even if you pause the main timeline. I included a simple example to demonstrate this. Regards /jme 2011-11-16 FadeOut3screen.zip

Hi Jim Just out of curiosity, how do you plan to trigger the fades manually? Space bar, MIDI, DMX? When you talk about fades do you mean video/image fades or DMX light fades? /jme

Hi Michael, I use a KissBox I/O device in the Dataton WATCHOUT 5 seminar show to turn on the main speaker light (LED) in the beginning of the show after the countdown is done. It also switches off the main speaker light at the end of the seminar when the presentation is over. The KissBox also control the white speaker light (LED) over the green screen, which is switch on only in the part of the show where the live input is demonstrated. The KissBox I/O is a nice little box with a straightforward protocol. You send a four byte string with TCP to the device ip-number on port 9812. To turn relay 1 on card 1 ON send: "$A5$00$00$01" To turn relay 1 on card 1 OFF send: "$A5$00$00$00" To turn relay 2 on card 1 ON send: "$A5$00$01$01" etc. I have used others I/O units like Advantech ADAM-6050/6060/6066 etc. and Adlink NuDam-6050/6060/6063 etc. but only when I had an external control system at hand. The ADAM units use Modbus TCP as a protocol which is complicated to generate from WATCHOUT but not impossible. The NuDAM units use a simpler protocol and they should be easy to control using WATCHOUT and a TCP-Serial (RS485) converter like Moxa 5130/5100A/P5150A. Best regards, Dataton /jme
