And it has been heard. I wish things were moving faster. Suffice is to say, NDI output is included in the next major release ( and has passed alpha testing). One of numerous additions. I hope i live long enough to see it reach the market :). In all fairness, we do not want a product that is not ready.

    Thats good to know… 🖖🏽🍀

    Hi dear

Is there a way to save this to a file after setting the geometry?
I would like to know if it is possible to reload later.

    Please advise.

    Hi,

you can copy and paste these shapes using the keyboard (ctrl c and ctrl v). The mouse-right-click doesnt do anything.

To save for any later use, copy and paste that data into and from a textfile (Notepad) or between different shows. You can even copy complete displays this way. And edit their names and IP addresses this way.

    have fun with that.

I am experiencing PNG images flashing when reaching a pause cue or while the timeline is running. Typically I see this when the content has been programmed in line with a pause cue, however, each pause cue is 0.1 second prior to the start of the image file.

    A few thoughts:

    - I am wondering if I need to delete the files I am having problems with from the display computers and re-sync the files?

    - I am also considering replacing the PNG files with JPEG files as a test to see if this is an alpha issue. (I have already changed the alpha setting for each file)

Just wondering if other have experienced this problem and what their solutions were.

    Thanks

Hi… Did you try the Jpegs?  Have you tested all tgis with the main timeline as well? My Experience of „flashing“ at a pause/loop-cue is that it only occurs on Aux-timelines.

When I used he Main-timeline, the issues were not happening.

For further testing on whats happening I place a colorbar image on the main timeline and just would let it sit there, displaying it.

Starting an Aux-timeline with any content above would show this colorbar image for a fraction of time at the pause/loop cue.

I filmed this in slow on the phone and have posted here some years ago. As proof of whatever this is.

    ——-

As a result of never having this issue really resolved I am avoiding looping with cues OR place that same content on the main timeline below it. Going to different Maintimeline cues while playing the Aux-TL can be „programmed“ with cues.

    cheers

  4. well, why not use MIDI for fading? As you originally planned…

Much easier than dealing with DMX (I really wish one could work with DMX „offline“).

Use a cheap device (search for MIDI fader) like a Korg Nanokontrol 2.

Or,go the software route if you have an extra computer, maybe even wich touch monitor. In that case you could use one of my favorite programs, OSC Pilot.

Watchout is able to „learn“ which Midicontrol-change(s) you are using.

Thank you Mike for your reply. Yes, that's my original idea to it but don't know if is possible.

With PIXILAB Blocks do I still need WatchNet?

I have spend sometime reading up on the WatchNet user guide. Is it possible to pre load all the video into the production computer and using the WatchNet script with panel on a devices like iPad to control which video will be loaded into the display computer? or using PIXILAB Block will be a simpler solution to achieve what I want to do?

Sorry if my question sound fun as I'm totally new to this.

    Thank you,

    Eddy Ong

Maybe tell us, what your general plan is. Unless it is a secrec business idea, of course.

Like… what device(s) do you want the videos to be shown on? What made you think of Watchout, which has its special powers in distributing video across multiple screens.. on cue. (very much simplified).

You could have all your videos loaded into watchout and have some touch-panel for selecting the clips to play. They would all have their indiviual timelines or. (I know there are different ways to do this)

No need for a webpage in that case. .

I used Bitfocus Companion. it can control Yamaha and Watchout togather.

Download a beta builds. it can schedules time to turn off the mic at Yamaha, play the video on watchout.

Streamdeck/Companion is really good. I was thinking of the OSC/Pilot more because of the faders.

Probably a combination would be the best, since Companion can trigger „start/pause/stop“ out of the box and OSCpilot can have a whole bunch of faders…

Hi all, I’m having an issue with a few moments in the show I am programming, where the designer has created a file that brings in a piece of content (i.e. Snow particles) and that video ends on a frame which is identical to the first frame of the following video, which is a loop. Let’s call them “snow-in” and “snow-loop.”

At time 00:15.00, let’s say, “snow-in” runs for 25 seconds on layer 4, then “snow-loop” starts on layer 3 at 00:40.0 (and when I drag “snow-loop” to confirm it’s starting exactly at the end of “snow-in”, I do get the “snapping” line). In my mind, Watchout should finish playing “snow-in” on its final frame, and immediately begin playing “snow-loop” on the layer below. However, this isn’t actually the case. There’s a flash where it looks like it’s going to black frame, but if I move the “snow-loop” to have slight overlap (0.05) there is no change, but if I start it 0.1 seconds early, it’s obvious it isn’t the same frame. Am I wrong about how this should work with content starting playback? Is Watchout just not capable of being frame accurate like this?  (I tried to do a 0.2 second cross-fade but it looks bad too.)

    ———————

I have to chime in here, of course. With my advice to not try looping in WO. That flashing Black you see is actually transparency, place a bright color on a layer beneath the looping points. You will see this flashing instead of black.

I tried this with images, videos… doesnt matter, It wont loop seamlessly.

So here is the actual advice, make the sequences you want to loop really long, so they dont have to loop as a sequence but playback the looping clips.

  8. After trying to seamlessly looping either videos or dissolving slideshows using freerun or two play/pause cues I have come to the conclusion to never try it again, but instead just repeat clips/images in really long timelines, so a loop is not necessary.

It just doesnt really do it.

Hmm maybe it is. Do you use a short file and create crossfade between them in the long timeline? If not how are you doing them?

In that case the easiest would be to ask the sound designer to create a longer then needed file.

In our case, the video files are looping fine but not the audio.

Well, when the audio is not looping you will have to stack them on two tracks with a fading overlap. Make on track, then copy it, place it and then copy the two… You might want to add a temporary play cues for easier „snapping“ of the fade-points. Remove those when done.

  10. Hi,

it looks like the visuals had been tiled in 3DMax already, around 300 or 500 square pixels they are really tiny.

The textures should be „baked“ to fit to the object before exporting from 3DMax.

You can check by exporting and reimporting/opening the object and the texture into a new file in 3DMax.
