EN Exhibit
Watchout intermittently sends a RED image to screen via projector. Able to restore content by changing input to unused one and then back again. Was informed by integrator when this error occurs to reboot the Watchout. Is this best practice and any idea what is the root cause?
Dataton Partner RBeddig Posted August 29, 2023 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted August 29, 2023 You mean, the screen turns full red? Or a reddish image? Rebooting WATCHOUT might help for the moment but is probably not a long-term solution. I've not seen such a behavior and I'd suggest to search for the reason. What sort of server are you using? What version of WATCHOUT? How does the cabling between the graphic card and the projector look like?
EN Exhibit
Yes, the screen image is fully RED, not reddish, more info to follow.
Dataton Partner RBeddig Posted August 30, 2023 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted August 30, 2023 Sounds like a driver, hardware or cable issue then.
EN Exhibit
To RBedding: Regarding one of three projectors projecting a solid RED image on screen - the Watchout is running license 4 via a Dell Precision Tower PC - video connectivity is via Kramer (TP590 TX/RX) pair to the Panasonic laser projector. The RED projection occurs on an intermittent basis.
Dataton Partner RBeddig Posted September 1, 2023 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted September 1, 2023 1 hour ago, EN Exhibit said: Kramer (TP590 TX/RX) Wouldn't be surprised if the extender or the cable is the problem. Kramer is not very high on my list of trusted extenders and I have seen integrators running into losses of outputs and content moving to wrong outputs due to bad cables or failing extenders.
