Member Michael Scheck Posted September 22 Member Report Share Posted September 22 Hi all! We are not yet on WO7 but will upgrade soon. In preparation I read the manual and I noticed that "pre-Split" is not mentioned anywhere. Does that mean that this method is not necessary anymore in V7? Or does the assetmanager take care of this? Surely there would be situations where you have very large media covering multiple outputs on multiple machines and you want to limit the data handled by one machine to the specific pixels needed? How would this be done? Regards, Michael

As long as the GPU can cope, you should be good. Files up to 12K in width present no problems for me. IF you find the need for it, it's quite simple. Just split the files accordingly and place them in your stage window on the screens you need them. WO will only distribute the files to the server that needs them to play. Afaik, you could put them in a composition if you like, though I haven't tested to see if that would send the entire composition over or just the bits inside that you need for that machine.
Member Michael Scheck Posted September 25 Author Member Report Share Posted September 25 OK, understood. Although I still wonder if a video that spans 4 outputs on one display-machine is played in one or 4 instances.... This uncertainty made me use presplitfiles in WO6 whenever I saw any stutters in playback. How does WO7 handle this?
