  1. Well, it seems more complicated

No problems with space - half of the 120SSD is empty

No problems with the codec - H.264, not more than 12MBps bitrate... we've reencoded the video they have to test

The error did not occure when we were testing but there was another very very strange problem

When you are live and you jump on the main timeline the system "freezes" and there are strange green artefacts (blinking). I say strange, because they are not only on the output, but also on the preview screen. After the freezing WO hangs and the logo shows on the screen

  2. Hi all and tnx for ideas

The Mikrotik is configured as a L2 switch with a firewall and routing from the production to an outside FTP.

The interesting thing is that yesterday we got this error in our test setup for the rental, during a switch off  and when using an unmanaged gigabit Dlink switch during a Power down command from the production PC so most probably this is the reason

Jonas - yes indeed, it's a TV studio

  3. Hi Mike

It's a tv studio with a fixed installation of 2 computers (1x production, 1x display). WO Ver 5 (latest)

OS is WIN7 Pro, network - gigabit via Mikrotik router/ switch

I am not sure how the operator received the error. I know that sometimes they are using codec which is resulting in a lost connection with the display computers (this also happens in our rental) but as far as I can see this time from the pic they've sent me (link below) there is also a problem with the space

  4. Hi all

For an upcoming project we have to project a number of photos combined on a single 360 degree projection (approx 15000x768 XGA resolution).

It sounds pretty easy if we had the all photos beforehand and do some kind of movie or even a composition to play... but the hard thing is that we have approx 20 mins between the photo taking and the projection.

    Any ideas would be appreciated...

  5. Hi

If you read the posts above - there are many people (including myself) that succeeded in using Dante Virtual Soundcard but only for 2 channel audio.

IMHO what Dataton should be working on is maybe implementing ASIO if possible so the multichannel capability could also be used.

But honestly for the moment I don't see any pros in using DVS over RME, MOTU or whatever other hardware solution.

  6. Well, the thing is that Martin M1 console can be controlled only via telnet connection... I think the string output from WO is a raw TCP/IP.

Simple using of a string output is not working and I'm sure how to do it since I've tested with projector control.

Unfortunately M1 is not the best of Martin... lack of MSC, lack of real remote... only a limited number of telnet commands

  7. Hi!

A stupid question. I suppose the listed behaviour is normal but had to ask

When taking audio out from the production computer - audio is played if the video file with sound is with preview in the stage window. If you enable "Thumbnails only" - no audio out from the PC

  8. It will definitely display correctly if the codecs are fine and if you keep the ratio and the film is placed somewhere on the screen. If you try to display it on the whole screen (which is almost 3 times larger on horizontal than the video you have) - then it will display stretched

  9. Hi all

A small (and I hope final) update

As it was discussed a lot before - the system was configured according to the tweaks. Hardware was not 100% equal to the officially approved but close enough.

As some of you saw in the enclosed video - there were drops also in the video outputs, not only on the capture inputs. We were really stuck and we started thinking that it could be a problem with the Firewire W9100. Today is the first day after the installation that we have more time before the air shows and we decided to come with 3 other hardware systems (old, new and newest, with all kind of other video and capture cards so we can exchange, test, etc).

Upon coming the first thing we did was to change the OS - the new machines were with Win 8.1 Pro and we just switched to one of our HDDs with Win 7. I must say we didn't really hope it would work but being "old school" we had to try.

Right now almost everything is smooth and easy going. No drops on the outputs (6 FullHD outputs), no drops on the inputs if the input task is pre-initialized.

We'll see how it goes in the next days and if it is OK we'll start the long process of dowgrading the Windows.

  10. 2 or 3 same type cards is OK

2 different types with same driver (E2S and RGBPRO) - unfortunately not

Anyway, Datapath are really great with great support.

I'm really confused with the Blackmagic... We've received the info for the unsupported motherboards or USB 3 chipset after we bought the cards

  11. First of all - one thing regarding the Datapath cards - they are definitely better, that's correct. But I am not sure that you can fit 2 Datapath capture cards (SDI2 and E2S for example) in the same machine - we couldnt fit E2S and RGBPRO since they are using the same driver and it's official info from Datapath.. haven't really tried with SDI & E2S... yet

An update - none of the above solved the problem

Processor with 40 lanes... direct SDI camera... sync into the Blackmagic...correct input settings... etc, etc.

But finally it will occur that Blackmagic does not work will all motherboards with same chipset from same manifacturer.

One more info we've received yesterday from their suppor regarding Ultrastudio 3.,0 Pro - the new USB 3.0 capture cards from the also do not work with many chipsets
