knaval
Hi! I don't know somebody ask this before but I'm in a tight situation. My problem is when I add an audio file to the display and when I go online I get an error of connection lost. but if I drag the speaker out of the display and go online its okay. Anything I'm doing wrong? I need a really quick fix please? Thank You.
Thomas Leong
Quick fix: Play the audio from the Production PC. Non-quick fix: - is the audio a wave file? - Is Media Centre disabled in the said Display PC? - Does the Display PC play audio under normal circumstances, i.e. outside of Watchout? - Are the proper audio drivers installed - motherboard audio or 3rd party audio card?
Jonas Dannert
As mentioned several times before, here for example: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1538-cant-go-online-if-show-has-wav-file/ Please turn off Windows Media Center Features as per the Tweaklist. http://dataton.com/downloads/watchout/support/tweak/Windows_7_Tweaking_list_2.1.pdf/jonas
Neil Stratton
Hi Knaval - sounds like your audio file is crashing Watchpoint. What type of file is it? I only use uncompressed wav files Neil
knaval
Im on my way to the airport for this gig now so I cannot check it until I get a hands on the gears tomorrow morning. But yes it's a wav file and I follow the tweakling on the media center unless since I did cloning something might have change. All drivers are in and play audio on the master before I did the clone. All 4 computers are identical except power supply which one died. Thank you
knaval
Okay yes it is the media center being on. Oops But here is another question how can I make a midi trigger that will automatically stop everything? and play only the one I trigger 2 how can I make the button on the task window bigger? And 3 how can I see a time remaining on the clip I'm playing so I can warn the directed how much time is left. Thank you.
Thomas Leong
Okay yes it is the media center being on. Oops But here is another question how can I make a midi trigger that will automatically stop everything? and play only the one I trigger 2 how can I make the button on the task window bigger? And 3 how can I see a time remaining on the clip I'm playing so I can warn the directed how much time is left. Thank you. Q1: how can I make a midi trigger that will automatically stop everything? and play only the one I trigger. Create an Aux Timeline, named appropriately, which has a cue for each and every other Named Aux Timelines instructing each to Stop. Unfortunately, if you have 100+ Aux Timelines, this means 100+ cues inside this Stop All Aux timeline!! Q2: how can I make the button on the task window bigger? Unfortunately, I don't think you can internally within Watchcout. However, you could use a second pc/laptop running Watchout Remote from the Watchout Systems Manager download which effectively provides a bigger button for Play and Pause. The pc running this need not be a powerhouse - small laptop will do. Just needs LAN or wireless connection to the Watchout Display cluster master, Adobe Air installed, and Windows Firewall and Media Centre both disabled. Be reminded that Watchout Remote only 'talks' to the Display PC and not to Production PC. Other alternative is the Watchout Remote Application for IOS or Android mobile devices. I'm not familiar with this but should provide simialr features to Watchout Remote in Watchout Systems Manager. Q3: how can I see a time remaining on the clip I'm playing so I can warn the directed how much time is left. Watchout Remote has a feature for this.
knaval
Thank You Guys for the reply it did help the show, tough I have some glitches it all went well. Here is what I did I have 4 (2 prime and 2 BU) Asus z97 computers i7 16gb mem. and ssd both OS and WO only use 1 output on all, Display 1 is Center screen Display 2 is Side screens. 1 Production computer and a backup. HP elitebook i7 8gb ssd both HD also the audio is Behringer ultramatch using toslink out of motherbaord. The glitches I was saying are 1, some of the clips rendered in H.264 sometimes they work sometimes they just play noise sound, what I did is just re rendered them to pro res and back to h.264 they work but I don't know if that's the right way but never had the noise problem again. 2, the loop that i made sometime goes to black. here is how I made it. on main timeline I have a 20 seconds loop video put it twice in the timeline first with a fade in effect then the second is the loop with a control cue of jump to 20 time at the end. All the other clips i have are aux timeline trigger via midi and when they stop it goes back to main timeline which is my logo loop. sometimes the loop is perfect sometimes it stutter or goes to black I can't figure it out. and 3, when I trigger clips with audio sometimes the audio is late to come up, my solution is clicking stop first like pause then play. Only the loop is the one I never figured out but everything went good and besides I have a Resolume arena as a backup for loop just in case but i have bad FPS. Thanks again
