bgarrett
Hello, Has anyone used a low profile graphic card that will work with 4 outputs? Preferably mini display outputs. We are still projecting at 1024x768. I have Dell's Vostro 220s Slim Tower and we want to use WO 5 with these computers, but only has the low profile graphic slots. It is a dual core 2.6 ghz with 2 gig of ram, which I am going to upgrade to 4 gigs. Thanks, Brent
Jonas Dannert
Hi, I would recommend against using 4 outputs, for WATCHOUT use, on a Core2 Duo machine. There are, to my knowledge, no capable low-profile 4 output graphic cards available. http://www.dell.com/us/dfb/p/vostro-220s/pd Even at 4 times 1024x768 resolution, graphic card, HDD & processor capacity, will be a severely limiting factor in this case, I believe. Nothing stops you from trying, though. /jonas
bgarrett
I found this card today. Do you think it would work. I know it hasn't been tested but is it worth a shot. Not sure if the included adaptors are active or passive. It looks like it would work in a low profile graphic slot. http://www3.pny.com/NVIDIA-NVS-510-for-Quad-DVI-Low-Profile-P3249C364.aspx Thanks, Brent
Jonas Dannert
From this thread: http://dataton.com/forum/topic/93-wo5-multi-output/ "NVidia NVS series will not do, they lack sufficient DirectX/Direct3D hardware acceleration for WATCHOUT-use. Same thing with AMD FireMV and Matrox M91xx-series." If this still holds for this Kepler-based card or not, I don't know, but this is but one of the components critical for a stable 4-output playback. A processor with only 2 cores and no SSD, will most likely affect playback. Windows 7 is a pre-requisite for multi-output. Feel free to try it, though. /jonas
