  1. Hi Rob! Three DVI outputs and one SDI input should be piece of cake for WATCHOUT. Here is my best advice. Set all outputs to full HD (1920 x 1080), providing your projectors/screens accept full HD. Set your cam 1080i or 720p with the corresponding settings in WATCHOUT. If you still having problems you need to consult a WATCHOUT expert in your area. Where are you located?

  2. Yes, please stop by our booth if you're in Frankfurt this week.

Don't miss this opportunity to get your first demo of the new WATCHNET, control and media management system for WATCHOUT.  For sure, you will not miss our full dome setup with WATCHOUT (with auto-alignment from DomeProjection)

    See you,

  3. Hi Piotr!

If you say the video plays well on a single screen and if the choppiness you see is sync glitches between the different screens/projectors I think putting in a FirePro + the s400 sync module in you Display computes is a good idea.

The professional graphic cards from AMD (FirePro) and Nvidia (Quadrosync) does provide frame-locked sync in WATCHOUT. They do however not stop you from overload your computer with too many or too heavy movies. Your have to determine what the source of your problem is.

As Jonas told you. If you are not certain, it is always a good idea to check with us first. Please sned your show file+media to support@dataton.se for test.

    Best regards,

    Fredrik S

  4. Re the Twitter example, due to recent changes in Twitter’s API, this no longer works. Since the new API (from version 1.1) requires authentication for all actions, it is not possible to make a dynamic image that works for all users without individual adaptation.

The Instagram example should work fine, though: http://academy.dataton.com/recipe/instagram-images

  6. No, not in the same show (cluster).

If you can divide the show into two different clusters and control the display computers from an external control systems (not WATCHOUT Production) it will work fine on the same network.

But the best is to upgrade the rest of your keys of course ;-)

  8. Dear Forum members

Thanks for your feedback. As Mike correctly point out above, there are many different voices out there. I do however think that most of us share the opinion that moderation is necessary to keep the quality up and noise level down. Here are some rules we (the moderators) do apply:

    • We delete all spam (of course)

    • We also delete all posts which includes a direct sales pitch

    • We filter posts with no relation to WATCHOUT

    • We always re-direct support questions with no general interest to support@dataton.com (sometime we do re-post the answers)

    • We approve as much as possible in order to highlight as many aspect of WATCHOUT as possible and keep the communication between members "alive"

    • FYI, we have moderators in Europe and in the US so approvals should not be be pending more than half a day.

The tricky part for the moderators is to determine what is of general interest and what is not and when we are not sure we usually choose to approve. I think this has been the right approach so far, building a wide interest for the forum. But I do agree, as the forum has been growing rapidly, it is now time to review and possibly also adjust the moderation policy slightly. Thanks again for raising the topic.

    Best regards,
    Fredrik S
