  1. I have an easy question. If I am using just two computers, one being the control computer and one display computer.Do I need to have a network switch in line or can I connect the two computers direct via a network cable. Thanks Brent
  2. Quick question. Does Watchout handle Adobe Illustrator/vector graphics? Thanks, Brent
  3. Hello all, I have a project with two projector edge blended with 25% overap. The two displays total 1792x768. I made a jpeg graphic that is 7168x3072. 4x the size of my displays. I made 4x larger so I can scale it down over 4 minutes. As the graphic starts to scale down it plays smooth, but as it gets to around 35% scale it starts to stutter/jitter and playback rough. The graphic is only 7mb. Would the size of the graphic be bogging down the display computer? If so, is there another way to do this? Thanks, Bg
  4. Hello, I am doing a show coming up that I will be using WO4.5. I will be using 4 display computers and a production computer. The production computer and the one display computer will be in the balcony of the of the theatre. The other three display computers will be on stage, about 150' from the production computer, feeding three projectors. I was wondering if I could use two swithces in line to get the signal to the four display computers. I would come out of the production computer and hit a switch that would hit the display computer in the balconey and then out of that switch I would send a single cat 5 to the stage where I would hit another switch and feed the three display computers on stage. My question is would I have to run seperate cat 5 cables from the switch in the balcony to each display computer on stage? Or can I just run the one cat 5 to the stage and hit a switch there to send to each display computer on stage? Thanks, Brent
  5. Hello all, I am using WO 4 and we are going into a LED wall. I am using still psd images as color background in a theatre production. When I set the opacity for the color background to dissovle in I get this stutter stepping in the fade up. It doesn't seem to do that video files just the stills. We are coming out of the WO display computer VGA into a switcher/scaler and from the swithcer/scaler I go into the processor DVI that sends the info to the LED wall. Is this a refresh rate type of issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brent
  6. I am doing a two projector edge blend. I have two Sanyo PLC XP200L projectors (1024x768) with 1" lenses. I have 16 feet of through distance and I am looking to do a 25% overlap. My question is will 25% be enough overlap? I am looking to do a 28' image with the two projectors. If my math is right it would be a 4' overlap (256 pixels). Do you think this is doable? Thanks.
  7. Great. The lighting console has USB out. So I would purchase two Moto fast lanes? One at the lighting console and one at the WO production computer and run a 125' midi cable between them. Would I have to barrel two midi cable together to make that distance? I looked online for a 150' midi cable but couldn't find one. Thanks, Brent
  8. Hello all, I am trying to trigger a timeline from a ETC Eos lighting console. Just wondering what hardware I would need to do this and how I would set up Watchout to see the trigger. Right now I am running WO 4.5. I don't own any midi interfaces. I have heard that m audio has a usb to midi interface. The WO display computer will be about 125' from the lighting console. So if there is some distance between them. Any suggestion would be great. Thanks, Brent
  9. I was just curious why you suggest not to use Adobe Encoder. I used it for a show last February and it seem ok.
  10. Great. Thanks DP. I appreciate it. I will give that a shot
  11. I am not sure if that will solve my problem. I am aware of aux timelines, however my my videos are four minutes long and I am making them :30 seconds long on free run in the timeline with a fade out after the :30 seconds. I am adding a pause just before the fade out. Does that make sense? I might be missing the point. I don't want the videos to be four minutes long on my timeline. Thanks
  12. Hello everyone, I have a show coming up that I will be using freerun on all of the videos on the main timeline. The fade out of the videos will be timed to live music that will change from night to night. However during rehearsal I want to be able to cue up a specific spot of the videos. Does anyone have a good way to deal with this? I am using version 4 right now. Thanks Brent
  13. Hello all, I work for a university and we are in the process of upgrading to WO 5 and would like to see what kind of equipment people are buying to support WO. What is the best computer to buy, what is the best graphics card to buy, what active adaptors to buy? I am sure these questions have been asked before. If anyone has a link to that I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to purchase 3 turnkey systems. I have around 15k for all three systems. Any feedback would be great. Thanks Brent
  14. JFK, That worked. Thanks so much for the quick response.
  15. Hello happy Watchout users, I am having an issue controling my Sanyo PLC XP200L via serial control out of Watchout. We are trying to control the shutters on the projectors from WO and we are not getting any results. We are coming out of com1 and our data rate is 19200. WO tells us to use a $ followed by 2 hexadecimal digits. Has anyone tackled this issue? It would be greatly appreciated if you could shed some light on the issue. Thanks, Brent
