  1. I did reset the EDID information on the Extron DVI 104 and that took care of the problem.
  2. I was thinking more about my situation. Sorry to keep piggy backin on this thread. I hope this isn't too confusing. I realize that I have old hardware working with Wid 7. But I am also using a Extron DVI 104-DVI to Fiber converter on the display machines going to two projectors. I recenlty had to reset the EDID information on the converters. Is there any way the the converter could be confusing the video card making Watchpoint crash? Thanks, B
  3. Thanks Jonas. Would I be better off being on Windows xp or Vista instead of upgrading to Windows 7 and still using wo 5? Or is the hardware just that outdated?
  4. Thanks. I kind of had a feeling that might be the case. Can you tell me more specifically what might be happening with this outdated video card that is crashing Watchpoint? Thanks, B
  5. The video card is a Nvidia GeForce 310. A lot of times the display computer will crash when the timeline is not moving. I don't know if that makes a difference.
  6. I did run the windows 7 tweak list on the machines. I will take a look at the drivers to see if there are any Microsoft drivers.
  7. I forgot to mention that we are using windows 7 enterprise edition. I work for a university and that is what is provided for us. Would that cause any issues?
  8. Hello, I am having the same issue. We are using version 5.5.1. We also followed all the tweaking settings. The issue is not consistent. The only thing I can think of is we start up the system and just park it on the timeline and after about 15 minutes the display computers go to the the WO screen with no ip address. We are using 2 display computers that are playing a hd video that is edge blended. The computers are Dell vostro Intel core 2 duo. Not the most powerful machines but we are not pushing them hard. Any thoughts? Thanks B
  9. Hello, I am using two Sanyo XP 200L LCD projectors edge blended together. I can get most of my video content to blend sleamlessly. I have one piece of content that is a time lapse of a blue day time sky that turns into a dark blue night time sky with stars. The two projectors start to look completly different as the day turns to night. My projected image is 1888x768 and I am using one piece of video spanned across the two displays. My question is can I use a tween on just one of the two displays with one video spanning the two displays? I tried to use WO color correction for one of the displays but I didn't get good results. I understand that if I use a tier, my edge blend will go away. Would it be best for me to crop the video in After Effects and bring in two seperate videos? Thanks, Brent
  10. Thanks Jonas. I wonder if the EDID information got reset on the fiber extenders, because it use to work fine.
  11. Hello, I have two Dell Vostro display computers with Nvidia 310 graphics card that are hooked up to an Extron's fiber optic extender. It is DVI to fiber. The signal runs into a two Sanyo XP 200L projectors 100' away to edge blend. The issue I am having is that when I have the display computers on the projectors don't see Watchout until I go online. The projectors countdown like they don't have a signal. I use to see the Watchout start up window with the ip address. Once I go online the system seems to run smooth. I have the Watchout display in the start up menu to go right into WO once the computer is up and running. So I took the signal out of the display computers and right into a dvi monitor and it started up with the WO start up window with the ip address, but when I hook it back up to the DVI to fiber I don't get a signal till I go online. Any suggestions? Thanks. Brent
  12. Hello, I have a question about keeping the display computers and production computer up to date on software. Right now I am running version 5.5.1 on all the computers. And when I updated WO to 5.5.1 I also updated the computer's software and bios, including Quicktime, like is instructed in the tweak list. Everything seems to be running fine. But I noticed that I don't have the latest version of Quicktime now and I noticed the computers need a Bios update along with a few other computer updates. I was curious what the standard practice is for updating the computers. I assume I should try and keep everthing up to date, but sometimes I feel when the computers and WO are working fine I should just leave them as is. Any thoughts. Thanks, Brent
  13. Sorry if this is a question that has been asked before, but I was working on a 5.5 WO project and I noticed that the display computers weren't showing the WO screen with the IP address before I went online. This is a project that we have been using for a week or so. I also noticed that when I powered down the display computers the Windows screen didn't come up showing the display computer was powering down. Is this a new feature in WO 5.5? I am trying to troubleshoot some other problems and I was wondering if this was suppose to happen or not. Thanks, Brent
  14. Hello All, I am running WO V5.3.1 and I am having an issue where the display computers stop sending video signal to the projectors. I will start my production computer and the display computers and everything seems to working fine. After awhile the display computers will stop sending the video signal to the projectors. The projectors go into shut down mode with the countdown coming up on the screen. The display computers are still on but not sending video and the projectors are still on. Once I restart the display computers everything seems to run fine after that. I can do a manage display computers to restart them. I have tuned the computers with the WO tweak list. I do have dvi to fiber optic converters on the display machines, but they have been working fine up till now. The content is still images and one video. The project was created on another machine then consolidated to the production machine in the theater. This is not a consistent issue. We went through a stretch of rehearsals where we didn't have any issues. Any ideas. Thanks, Brent
  15. Hello all, I have a projector question that might not be suitable for this forum, but I thought I might give it a shot. I have two Sanyo Plc xp 200L projectors. One of the projectors won't hold the keystone settings if unplugged completely from an outlet it . If I power down the projector but leave it plugged in it will hold the keystone settings. I am edge blending the two projectors through WO and the other projector doesn't have an issue. It keeps the keystone settings. I have to unplug the projectors every night after the show and I have to realign them everyday. Any ideas? Thanks.
  16. Thanks. Do you use a specific EDID manager? Right now my cable to the projector is a fiber cable with dvi converters on each end. Will that cause any issues? Thanks, Brent
  17. So here is my setup for this now. I am running WO into the DVI input of the projector and Isadora into the other input. I noticed today that after being on the Isadora input of the projector, when I went to switch back to WO I didn't have any video. I had to restart the display computers to get the video to come up on the projector. Do you think the display computers didn't see a signal back from the projector so they went to sleep. Digital video can be that way. Not sure why it would do that but it did. Thanks, B
  18. Hello all I had a situation last night during a tech rehearsal where one of my display computers went offline during the rehearsal. Can you vnc into the display computer to restart the computer?I wanted to shutter the projector and restart the computer. Instead I had to use the projector to see the display computer while still in tech. Sadly I think the display computer was knocked over by another crew member which caused it to stop working. I am running Windows 7. WO 5.5. Also should I delete my cach file before we go into the open of the show so all the files are transfered "fresh"? Thanks Brent
  19. Hello, I have a show coming up where I have two projectors that are edge blended and two playback sources. One being Watchout and the other being Isadora. I wanted to run Watchout and Isadora into a matrix dvi switcher so in between the two pieces I could switch from Watchout to Isadora. I purchased a Comprehensive 4x4 DVI matrix switcher. I hooked it up today and all of Watchout's videos where purple. I couldn't get Isadora to even show up. I am playing Isadora off a Mac so it doesn't surprise me that it did show up. Has anyone tried to use this type of setup before with a matrix switcher of some kind? I know this isn't just a Watchout question but I know most of you have the experience to point me in the right direction. Thanks, Brent
  20. Hello everyone, I am trying to send a video mute on/off and a power down and up singnal to my Panasonic projector and I don't know what the serial code is. Does anyone know where I could find this informantion. Thanks, B
  21. Hello all, I have an interesting situation. I have a Dance performance coming up where the choreographer wants to use an effect from Troikatronix's Isadora. Not my choice. I will be captuing a live video camera of the dancers into Isadora then projecting the image on two projectors. The problem is Isadora doesn't have a good way to edge blend. My question is can I take Isadora into WO by a DVI capture card? I suppose I would need two DVI capture cards. One for each display computer. The display computers are also low profile computers. What would the latency be like? The computers I have are also older computers. They are Core 2 duos with 3 ghz of processing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  22. I found this card today. Do you think it would work. I know it hasn't been tested but is it worth a shot. Not sure if the included adaptors are active or passive. It looks like it would work in a low profile graphic slot. http://www3.pny.com/NVIDIA-NVS-510-for-Quad-DVI-Low-Profile-P3249C364.aspx Thanks, Brent
  23. Hello, Has anyone used a low profile graphic card that will work with 4 outputs? Preferably mini display outputs. We are still projecting at 1024x768. I have Dell's Vostro 220s Slim Tower and we want to use WO 5 with these computers, but only has the low profile graphic slots. It is a dual core 2.6 ghz with 2 gig of ram, which I am going to upgrade to 4 gigs. Thanks, Brent
  24. So I did a test hooking two computers directly and I didn't seem to have any issues. Is this set up a situation where it works or it won't work at all. Could this set cause issues later that I haven't run into yet? Thanks Brent
