Jonas Dannert
If it's not ACTIVE, which is not mentioned, I think no is the answer. Also only DisplayPort connector, not MDP as WATCHPAX. /jonas
Moderator jfk Posted August 3, 2013 Moderator Report Share Posted August 3, 2013 HI anybody know if the folling will work on watchpax Accel - UltraAV® DisplayPort to DVI Multi-Monitor Adapter want to outport 2 screens per watchpax if i can thanks mark when I first saw this post I thought the fabled AMD DisplayPort 1.2 MST hub had finally come to market. But that is not what it is. The specificaitons are telling, quite significant limitations: Typical maximum resolution: 3 monitors @1280x1024 (3840x1024) · Supported monitor frequency: 60Hz · DisplayPort 1.1a compliant Seems to accept a single channel signal from the GPU, and then internally breaks it up on its own. What appears to be a maximum 1024 pixel height seems quite a limitation. And WATCHPAX tops out at 2560 width, so that 3840 width would not be acheivable. The non-standard resolution needed, say 2560x1024, may very well be an issue, possibly the box has EDID support to overcome that, but I would not be hopeful for that.
ibby
Hi Folks- Noting that the various suggested active mini to DVI support 1920x1200...but the watchpax documentation shows support up to 2560x1600? Jonas Dannert
Hi Folks- Noting that the various suggested active mini to DVI support 1920x1200... Yes, that's Single-Link DVI, possible with an ACTIVE Single-Link DVI to MiniDP-adapter, not needing external power. but the watchpax documentation shows support up to 2560x1600? How does one get the max available output on the watchpax? 2560 x 1600 is Dual-Link DVI, possible with an ACTIVE Dual-Link DVI to MiniDP-adapter, needing external or USB power. Example: http://www.accellcables.com/B087B-003J.html That said, this will work for still imagery, not video at this resolution for WATCHPAX. /jonas
