Asutton
Hello, I recently installed Virtual Box (Oracle) on my mac and installed windows 7 hoping to run Watchout offline. When I start up Watchout I get this error: Facility 34934. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Jonas Dannert
Sorry, but we're not verifying WATCHOUT on Virtual Box. Most likely their DirectX/Direct3D support is not there. Please use VMware Fusion or Parallells Desktop on a Mac instead, if needing a virtual solution. /jonas
cowboyclint
From the Manual pg.229 14 Known limitations 14.1 Experimental Features Some VirtualBox features are labeled as experimental. Such features are provided on an “as-is” basis and are not formally supported. However, feedback and suggestions about such features are welcome. A comprehensive list of experimental features follows: WDDM Direct3D video driver for Windows guests Hardware 3D acceleration support for Windows, Linux, and Solaris guests Hardware 2D video playback acceleration support for Windows guests PCI pass-through (Linux hosts only) Mac OS X guests (Mac hosts only) ICH9 chipset emulation EFI firmware Host CD/DVD drive pass-through Support of iSCSI via internal networking Synthetic CPU reporting
Mike Fahl
VirtualBox is great for server applications (which is what Oracle intended it for, I guess), but does not support the kind of graphics APIs used by WATCHOUT. Fusio and Parallels are far better here (but not free). Mike
