Halvor Bekkevold
Is Watchout 5.x and Windows 10 compatible?
Moderator jfk Posted January 12, 2016 Moderator Report Share Posted January 12, 2016 No. It precedes Windows 10 by a long time. It may be possible to get it to work if you replace the license key driver with a newer version that supports Win 10. But you will still encounter other issues that are unique to Win 10. Not recommended for any version of WATCHOUT at this time, but Dataton is working on a new version 6 variant to address that. i.e. coming soon .... BTW Microsoft does provide downgrades rights to Windows 10 Pro owners. So a Windows 10 Pro license owner may use Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8.1 Pro in lieu of Windows 10. Since proper tuning and OS preparation dictates the drives be reformatted and the OS installed from scratch, switching to a more compatible OS is no different amout of work.
Halvor Bekkevold
Thanks! Can I use Win 10 on the production PC?
pencenk
I also tried using Windows 10 as production, but every time I checked the option "free running" and / or "loop" in the video cue-advance, always get "Wachout not responding".

Does not happen with my Win 10 as Prodn PC with Watchout 6.02. Do you have more details? - Watchout 6 version - system specs: cpu, motherboard, harddisk, etc - type of media file and encoding details - codec, wrapper, datarate, etc - Are you online/live update when it happens? Does it happen when offline?

Thomas Leong
Running without problems as I write this - Prodn PC: WO 5.5.1 Win10 i5 laptop mp4 file with 21.3Mbps Free running & Loop enabled without any error message Display PC: WO 5.5.1 Win7 Celeron laptop Stage/Display resolution 1366x768 Without further details, difficult to suggest further where your problem may be. Tweaked to Dataton recommendations? Media Centre off? Firewall off? Any 3rd party codecs installed? Online or offline when it happens? Cat sitting on the keyboard?
