PaulL
Does anyone have recommendations for multi channel sound cards, preferably USB interface, 8 output (at least) and working with V5 and V6?
Member mindopera Posted October 29, 2016 Member Report Share Posted October 29, 2016 I'm not sure if this will help since I just found out that Echo has discontinued (still servicing) there Audiofire products. I used the Echo Audiofire 8 succefully for years on WO version 5 & 6 timelines. It used FireWire connections and 8 channels of audio with a properly installed video driver. I only took advantage of the 8 channels once but I used the units for 3 years. Perhaps you can purchase used units online at eBay. I still have two Audiofire 8's in my position I would consider renting if your interested. Now I am using Yamaha Audiogram3's or 6's. They are USB powered, need no drivers and are compact and light weight. At least the 3's are.

All nessesary informations are in the manual https://www.dataton.com/assets/Products/Watchout/WATCHOUT_Users_Guide_6.1.pdf and are shown here http://www.dataton.com/multi-channel-audio-playback. Martin Pfeifer
A good choice is the RME ADI 8 DS MKIII AD/DA converter. 8 channels will work fine, see http://forum.dataton.com/topic/2124-can-i-play-a-16-ch-audio-file-in-watch-out-6/?hl=%2Baudio+%2Bchannels&do=findComment&comment=8975 Martin
