seefactory
Any Director users on the forum? I'm looking for a way to incorporate event handling in Watchout without the use of midi or external event triggers. Director users would know what I'm after. Any Watchout users out there who have experience with Lingo and Macromedia Director?
Fredrik Svahnberg
With the risk of stating the obvious. If you can speak TCP/IP with WATCHOUT, you can do pretty much anything. Trigger timelines, control media effects in realtime etc. I would welcome any Director and Lingo fellows out there to chime in as well. seefactory
Can these TCP/IP functions be "hard-coded" so that one doesn't have to rely on user input such as pressing a midi key? I assumed that the TCP/IP calls were only executable via realtime user input. I want to use the typical capabilities of "If, Then, Else" routines I know from programming languages. Maybe I'm not seeing something here that will allow Watchout to do what I ask for.
Fredrik Svahnberg
Absolutely, what you should study is the last chapter of the WATCHOUT USER'S GUIDE (Display Cluster protocol). Apart from all the standard commands for various control functions, you should pay some extra attention to: How to control a "Generic Input" with the "SetInput" command. (Page 187 and 246) Good luck. Keep us posted. Best regards, Fredrik S
