Display Machine Failed Boot: "Select Proper Boot Device"

Hello Team,

I have had reports of our display machine crashing, after my investigation.. I noticed that the network port on the back is showing only a solid orange light. then when going back to the screen the message " Reboot and Select_proper Boot Device message is displayed on two of the three screens. "

Now I am assuming either the machine in its entirety has failed due to an employee tampering with the unit. But my familiarity with watchout 5 and watchout in general is fairly limited.

Could anyone please advise next steps?

Kind Regards

This message clearly doesn't come from WATCHOUT.

If you say, it plays WATCHOUT 5, how old is the display computer?

Wrong boot volumes etc. is something I have noticed in the past when the display computer has a RAID set of drives and the RAID got lost in BIOS. This can happen when the CMOS battery is dead.

Unfortunately I inherited a setup roughly 15 years old. The display computer run off of Windows 7 OS.

Another issue I have faced is that my main stage has now also lost half its tasks. They just vanished into thin air. Is there anyway I can get my tasks back without having to create a brand new show?

Kind Regards.

Tasks don’t disappear unless someone specifically deleted them. There are a large number of WATCHOUT 5 shows out there running on a daily basis and that has never been reported.

So possibly someone accidentally  deleted them. Or possibly you have opened a different show file.

An advanced WATCHOUT user could pull the show file copy on the display computers. But if someone went online after accidentally deleting tasks, they are gone for good.
