Jonas Dannert
Hi Lee, This is why: "- use separate audio (.wav). IF sound is included, it should NOT be AAC-audio." (from "WATCHOUT - Codecs for stable WATCHOUT playback - 2012") WATCHOUT does not include any codecs for AAC-audio, If the computer has a codec for AAC installed, it may work, but it is un-supported by us. /jonas

Dataton Partner Walter Posted October 23, 2012 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted October 23, 2012 Just to share a personal experience : did a project recently where I received all footage with AAC audio embedded (despite the named document which I provided as guideline). Besides one strange artifact during programming / rehearsal, all footage worked perfect with AAC audio. Display system AND production system we're completely configured as per WO guidelines with no additional codec pack or any media software installed. Somehow, AAC is supported by a standard win7 install I guess (well, it must be). Perhaps wmp supports this? Or qt? I will keep holding on to the specs as described in the 'codec' document, but can't help but wondering ....
