klikwawan
I had a problem on my watchout. Can help me?
Jonas Dannert
This can be anything... Are you running WATCHOUT 5 on a WindowsXP computer? My advice, don't do this. From the download page WATCHOUT 5.3.1 Released December 5, 2012. Compatible with Windows 8. Windows 7 required for full functionality. When posting, in order for others to help you out, please be more specific on: - WATCHOUT version - OS version - driver versions - hardware specs, especially processor/disc/graphic card types - content type, when video especially size(pixels)/codec/bit-rate /jonas

cowboyclint
I would say your codec is wrong. Re-encode with a different codec in the .mov "wrapper" From the version 4 manual: Pg. 39 There’s a wide variety of codecs available, each optimized for a particularkind of source material and playback requirements. WATCHOUT supportsboth Apple QuickTime and Microsoft DirectShow codec technologies for playback. Here’s a rundown of some of the more commonly used codecs:MPEG-1. Medium quality. Generates very small files. Optimized for cameravideo. Native frame size is fixed, based on a quarter of the video format’sframe size. Since this codec doesn’t require a lot of computation power, use itwhen you need to play a lot of small video clips at the same time. MPEG-2. High quality. Used on DVD video discs. Optimized for cameravideo at normal frame sizes. Also supports high definition formats with someencoders (see “High Definition Video” on page 39). The WATCHOUT MPEG-2 decoder performs de-interlacing automatically when required.Quicktime Animation. High quality. Very low compression. Optimizedfor computer-generated material. Supports transparency when set to“Millions+” of colors.QuickTime PNG. High quality (non-destructive). Low compression. Optimizedfor computer-generated material. Supports transparency when set to“Millions+” of colors.DV. High quality. Medium compression. Optimized for video editing. Generateddirectly by most digital video camcorders. Native frame size is fixed, based on video format’s frame size. For best performance, use the AVI fileformat for DV content to be used with WATCHOUT.Windows Media 9. High quality. Flexible in terms of frame size (useful formaking tall or narrow movies), frame rate and interlacing/progressiveoptions. Very demanding on processor speed when using high resolutions atfull frame rate.Choosing the right codec and codec settings for your source material and playbackhardware may require some experimentation.Recommended CompressionFormatsAlthough WATCHOUT supports most video file formats, some formats tend togive better results. As a general guideline, use MPEG-2 or Windows Media 9unless an alpha channel is required, in which case QuickTime Animation is therecommended codec. WM9 requires more processor power, but providesgreater flexibility in terms of supported frame sizes.
Jonas Dannert
I would say re-encode into MPEG-2 (preferred) or h264 (.mp4) instead. Don't use Sorensen 3 as a codec, it's not supported properly by QuickTime Player itself anymore, I think. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorenson_codec Sorenson Video 3 An improved Sorenson Video 3 codec debuted with the release of QuickTime 5.0.2 on July 1, 2001. It was available exclusively for QuickTime. Apple QuickTime later focused on other compression formats and moved Sorenson Video 3 to a separate group called "legacy encoders. Re: batch export : where is sorenson? http://lists.apple.com/archives/QuickTime-API/2008/Feb/msg00223.html And if possible, update WATCHOUT into 4.3 and WindowsXP to SP3. http://dataton.com/downloads/watchout/support/old/watchout/WATCHOUT_Installer_4.3.msi Latest QuickTime 7.7.3 or newer is recommended. /jonas Although aimed at WATCHOUT 5, most of it can be used for WATCHOUT 4, too: WATCHOUT - Codecs for stable WATCHOUT playback - 2012.pdf WindowsXP Tweaklist: WATCHOUT Display Computer Build and Tweak List.pdf
klikwawan
Thank you for the solutions provided. I will upgrade my PC to Windows 7 Professional 32bit. Will I be able to use version 4.5.1 with dongle version 4? I made a video with Adobe After Effect CS6. How to set the video codec to render output MPEG-2 or h264 (.MP4)?
Jonas Dannert
I will upgrade my PC to Windows 7 Professional 32bit. On the hardware you have described, I would recommend you to NOT do that. It will only result in a slower system. Stay at WinXP SP3 with updated drivers etc OR build new for WATCHOUT 5 use. Will I be able to use version 4.5.1 with dongle version 4? Yes, but 4.5.1 only brings you support for running WATCHOUT 4 with WATCHOUT 5 keys. 4.3 have the same features. I made a video with Adobe After Effect CS6. How to set the video codec to render output MPEG-2 or h264 (.MP4)? This is a Adobe question, right? /jonas
Mike Fahl
CS6 is pretty flexible in terms of encoding options. What's the size and framerate of your video? If it's withint HD or less, and isn't "odd" in any particular way, you should be able to use either MPEG-2 or H.264 encoding. Mike
klikwawan
The size usually I use is 768 x 288px 25fps. So,what should i do?
Jonas Dannert
Encode it into MPEG-2, at 6-8 MBps, for example. /jonas
