  1. We have go a strange problem. We have some auxilary timelines with media and cues in them. Content is graphics, HAP and h.264. System is running smooth (Play cues run without any delay) exept for one problem which occures random after some time running through the show. Then we have about 2 seconds delay on all the outputs when starting a timeline. This latency holds on until we restart watchpoint on the display computers. Before we start an auxilary timeline we preload it by pressing the stop button. We thought it is a network issue so we changed the whole setups from big switches to small dumb switches and replayed the fiber line with cat5. Display computer's specs: E5-1630 Firepro W8100 (outputs synced with S400) SSD Raid 10Gbit/s ethernet on PCIe 1Gbit/s ethernet onboard (Same issue no matter which network connection I use) Production PC: Lenovo i7 notebook I have two of these setups running in two separate networks. Both have the same issue from time to time. Does anyone have an idea about that?
  2. In my actual setup we have created a web controller to play the show cues. Whenever I send the command to play the cues, there is a noticeable lag on the video start, but it doesn't happen everytime on every cue, seems to be a little random. There are no error messages in the log so I cannot figure out what is going on. Also the problem manifests with every kind of formats and codecs (so far I have used .mp4 and .mov with h264 and HAP codecs). Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850) Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.6GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM Available OS Memory: 16302MB RAM Page File: 2056MB used, 47010MB available Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce GTX 970 DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Display Memory: 3710 MB Dedicated Memory: 4007 MB Shared Memory: 3798 MB
  3. I am specifying a hardware upgrade (media servers) for a client's existing Watchout v. 5 system, in order to add live video feed capability. I understand the importance of the capture card in affecting latency issues, but which server parameter tends to affects latency more - processing power or video card capability? I may not have enough budget to supply premium components for both (it's a five- server system), so I am wondering if there is a preferred way to prioritize the upgrades. 4. Hello, I have managed to have 4 layers of different NDI applications within watchout. I have a live feed from an iPad Camera thru an NDI app, 2 desktop mirroring (wired connection) and 1 Live feed camera connected via hdmi onto to an NDI enabled laptop. Connections are straight-forward thru a local gigabit network. All having static IP. frame rates set to 30fps. My issue, everytime I trigger these on my main watchout timeline, all 4 screens will play but will only playback 1 at a time intermittently. playback lag are between 30 seconds to 1 min. Once all screens are playing, I have no issue with latency as I've set the latency to low for optimum performance. ie, sometimes iphone screens comes up first then a few seconds later, laptop 1 & 2 screens comes up; then sometimes vice versa. My question, how do I eliminate this lag everytime I trigger the NDI feed? otherwise this will be almost unusuable/impractical for live events. The idea is to use NDI for live feed and laptop screen mirroring without the use of capture cards and thru a wireless network ecosystem. Anything I am missing on the setup? Hoping for some guidance. Thanks in advance.
