Dataton Partner Walter Posted March 25, 2015 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted March 25, 2015 Hi there, Imho : fiber is always the best solution if you have the budget to acquire it. We have 150+ fiber sets, mostly on DVI, but also still on VGA and of course 3G-SDI. But having it on DVI leaves you with the best option to use it on your WO rig and leaving you the liberty to choose any resolution. Apart from that, not all projectors carry an SDI input and/or not always a 720 or 1080 resolution is what you need for the setup.
Member paolino Posted March 25, 2015 Member Report Share Posted March 25, 2015 Hi, What kind of hardware do you use? Computer or video? what is the resolutions? If you use video signal ( 720x576 ) you need to use SDI ( RG59 around 300 meters max ) or HD-SDI 1920x1080 50i ( Percon VK7 100 Mt. max) If you use computer signal 1024x768, 1280x720, 1920x1080 .... @60p you can use DVI to cat5 converter for short distance [ max 60/70 mt. with Extron 230 series and CAT6A S/FTP CABLE ( the cable quality is very important) ], but for best result you must use fiber optic converter.

tonatiuh
Thanks for the advise. I mostly use computer signal 1024x768 and rarely 1920*1080. and always is for shows projections. so the distant is a sensitive issue. I'll try to get fiber. Thanks.
