Member Daniel B Chapman Posted July 20 Member Report Share Posted July 20 (edited) To anyone who can help, I was going to try Watchout 7 on a show this morning, but after install I couldn't launch the Producer. I had Watchout start up with the overlay saying "Display Channel 1, etc...", a window appeared, nothing populated, and then it closed. I did an uninstall/reinstall and the behavior persisted wtih 7.3.1 and 7.3.0. Does anyone have a quick fix? I have some tiny gigs (a single background loop) and I'd like to start using 7 in production now that MSC is working. Any help would be appreciated. (Also, where are the logs/error messages stored in 7? I'd love to take a look at them!) Here's a video showing what I'm experiencing. Dataton Partner Benoit Posted July 21 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted July 21 Hi Daniel, Can you have a lookat the WIndows event viewer after failure, does it show any error message? Are you using a ryzen CPU or an AMD GPU?
Member Daniel B Chapman Posted July 21 Author Member Report Share Posted July 21 Benoit, I'm looking for the logs, a driver update fixed the issue, and yes to AMD CPU/Integrated GPU. I think it is the Vulkan driver version if I was to hazard a guess. - System - Provider [ Name] Application Error [ Guid] {a0e9b465-b939-57d7-b27d-95d8e925ff57} EventID 1000 Version 0 Level 2 Task 100 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x8000000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2024-07-20T17:15:18.2520271Z EventRecordID 18658 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 15496 [ ThreadID] 10232 Channel Application Computer DBC-Watchout-PR - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-21-3126929990-4040760876-1024678900-1001 - EventData AppName Producer.exe AppVersion 7.3.1.0 AppTimeStamp 668f9bfa ModuleName amdvlk64.dll ModuleVersion 30.0.13044.14002 ModuleTimeStamp 627e320a ExceptionCode c0000005 FaultingOffset 000000000006f212 ProcessId 0x38a8 ProcessCreationTime 0x1dadac8628b9009 AppPath C:\WATCHOUT7\bin\Producer.exe ModulePath C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0379771.inf_amd64_466f8ae730e6c425\B379389\amdvlk64.dll IntegratorReportId 53239ae7-5c0b-4b59-a6c8-a9e798d0b655 PackageFullName PackageRelativeAppId The driver version for this would have been mid year 2022 based on the logs on my computer. It might be worth adding an error message for an out of date Vulkan driver for AMD, the manufacturers are notoriously bad about maintaining driver updates. -Daniel
