Push content to both production and display

Hello.

Dumb question, with slow transfer speeds between tranfering content to the production computer, then waiting for the production computer to transfer content to the display... Is there anything wrong with transfering content directly to the display computer as well?

Actually we do this at times when transferring very large files to display computers. In this case we usually transfer one file first since this will build the correct structure in the show folder on the display computer. Then we connect an external SSD to the display computer and copy the rest of the files directly into this folder.

This doesn't work that easy with locked systems like WATCHPAX or WATCHMAX but open systems should accept this.

Once all the files are on the display server, you connect the SSD to your production computer so that WATCHMAKER also sees the files. On going online WATCHMAKER will just compare the files with those on the server.

Interesting, I did that and was able make it see the file without pushing. Except the file would not play when jumping to it in the timeline.

I am wondering if this has to do with caching?

Ted, did you ensure the path on the production was relative? (Or absolute, anyway the same as specd in displaymachine )

I I believe the secondary issue is actually related to another post I made.

If you load a time that is in the middle of a pre-load - the content will sometimes not play.
