  1. Thanks Jim. Meaning I have to use the move command on every cue? I was wondering if there was a way to lock the cue to the display to enable me to move a display say 600 pixels left and the cue to move with it.I have so many cues it would be easier just to stay with the arrangement I have.. Thanks
  2. Hi all- I am programming a show and I have got to a point where I would now like to rearrange my displays in the stage window. The layout I chose at the start is difficult to work with. All my media cues are confined to individual displays and what I would like to do is rearrange the displays and for the associated cues to move with the display.Any way to do this without manually repositioning each and every cue Thanks Neil
  3. Hi Sparikh- click the windows icon bottom left of your screen, then type event in the search box.You will see a shortcut to Event Viewer appear.Click on that and then look through the logs. Anything with an exclamation mark in a red circle should be dealt with. This may help. Any more info would be useful on the codec, bitrate etc as Jonas suggested. What is the file extension? Send me a link to the file and I will have a look.In the studio all day today and tomorrow. Cheers Neil
  4. Have you looked in the windows error logs? They are not always helpful but occasionally they can be. How is the quicktime file encoded? Happy to have a look at the show on my system if you wish.
  5. Can we assume the display machines in each scenario are identical? Do the displays show an ip address on screen once they have reached the Watchout splash screen? If they do is it the address you expect? I think Adela is hinting that you may have more than one active network adapter on the machines. Is this so? If so you should disable the other adapters, be they lan or wireless.
  6. I use my production machine for all my on site editing with After Effects, Photoshop, encoding software etc etc.Things can sneak in quite unexpectedly so my solution is to have it dual boot. One OS(A) is for everything I may possibly need on site. Then I have a clean OS-b as per Jonas' tweak list which I use for show mode.Assuming of course you use a production machine for running shows, which many don't. I can programme my shows in the OS(A) and have the Watchout show folder on a separate drive. When I come to show mode I boot in to the tweaked OS-b and can then pull up the WO show and run it in a 'clean' environment. It works for me and means i don't have to haul around another machine just for edits, and also means I don't have to sweat about what may have been compromised along the way. This may be unnecessary but it does help me through the day...and night
  7. Exactly! The abilty to play these files on your system suggests that somewhere you have installed extra codecs and these have allowed you to play the files. On a system with only the codecs from Watchout Installer present, you should not be able to play these files at all.I notice from another thread on the Mediallooks Watermark, that you have indeed got other codecs installed. Although they may allow you to play files you wouldn't normally expect to, from experience I can tell you that these will come back to haunt you.A clean install may be the best solution....
  8. I have also tried to load in my system without success. Mediainfo reports a bitrate of 20meg but that is all. As Jonas stated AME or others will help you.Would be good to know how you encoded such a file though? I suspect you may have some codecs installed on your machines to allow you to play the file at all.I would consider removing these as per the tweak list.
  9. Wow! no actually....final result is incredible! Great job.
  10. Hi Gary-to 'zoom in' on an object without using scale tweens, use the Z position control in the Position Tween option.Likewise to pan, use the X position control. Neil
  11. Hi John- you could create an auxiliary timeline and place the video cue in it with free running selected.Place a pause cue say 1 second in, and then after the pause cue have an opacity tween to fade out. Then when you run the timeline from the Task window it will run to the pause cue, and the video will continue to play. Then when you hit run again on the timeline it will move over the opacity tween and the video will fade out on cue. A combination of auxiliary timelines can be used for multiple videos. Hope this helps Neil
  12. I read this post and the very next day I started getting the same messages. I am still on 5.2. and have only seen it in 64 bit environments. I have seen it in a number of my show set ups so it is not restricted to a particular show file. It hasn't caused me any problems but I am left wondering what it is actually trying to tell me. I haven't changed my system set up for over 6 months so quite sure I haven't caused this through a driver/update etc. I will report back if I find a reason/solution.
  13. Thanks guys-found a workaround but will try this later. Support-sent you original .watch file Thanks Neil
  14. Hello again! How do you go about rebuilding a show file from a display machine? sure I have seen this before but cant find anywhere. Thanks in advance Neil
  15. Thanks Fredrik.I finally remembered the comp trick but in the end I insisted that the cables be replaced and was able to get show resolution to the wall.A monumental waste of two hours. Thanks for the reply. Something I keep noticing is that it seems difficult to search old posts. I remember this solution from before but couldnt find it by searching. Occasionally I get results but usually I cant find a discussion even though I know for certain it is in there.
  16. Hi guys-got an urgent need.I have a show of 3x1920 displays but the processors on the walls I am am using are only happy with 1366 x 768.Is there a trick to scale a whole show? Thanks Neil
  17. Hi Alex-we would need more info on your machine to answer that and particularly the card. But yes you can run it either way, hardware permitting. Neil
  18. Thought I would add a footnote to the lengthy discussions on encoding we have had on here over the years. I have always used Mpeg2 for pre splits and QT Animation codec for alpha channels. I have also used H264 more frequently over the last year, but still returned to Mpeg2 for large pre splits. The reason for this was firstly the fact they have always worked for me, but also others have stated they give better results in terms of sync. They also look very good. However on my last project which required a 3 way split acros 3 1920 x 1080 heads, I had a problem with my Mpeg2 encoding. The background of the video was white(all graphical) and there was some very subtle gradients from white to grey.In mpeg2 I could not get these to reproduce in any encoding software, no matter what settings I used. And I tried a lot! The greys became whites. So in the end I tried a QT H264 pre-split render which I used in my proxy and it worked a treat.Sync was spot on and the colour reproduction was near perfect. Thought I'd share in case any one else feels compelled to stick to Mpeg2.I will still return to Mpeg2 but if I have a similar problem again I know I have a back up solution. Neil S
  19. Thanks for that Mike! And nice tip mshaub.Just caught up with this thread again! Thanks Neil
  20. Hi Maria-to export movies from Watchout production you need Watchout licence keys.Do you have one? Neil
  21. I think I am correct in saying that WO5 requires Windows 7. Which doesnt help I know but I remember Jonas saying this elsewhere on the forum.
  22. You could copy and paste the cue itself and then replace the media in that cue by simply dropping a new media item onto it.That way all attributes will be transferred to the new media item. If you just want to copy position then create a position tween on the first and copy that to the second. Neil
  23. Hi-navigate to this registry key(with regedit) and remove the ones you dont want Neil HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dataton\WATCHMAKER
  24. Hey Thomas-would be very grateful for the details Many thanks Neil neil@wideuk.com
