  1. http://forum.dataton.com/topic/815-remote-controlling-with-watchout-problems/?p=2947 The Thread above has a great section on PJLink. Your projector has it, and it's loads easier than serial.
  2. I've done this before no problems. Multiple unmanaged switches have never been a problem.
  3. I would like to have another mode between online and offline. I would call it a focus mode. This would allow me to pick a place on the timeline, enter focus mode, and see real time results of what I am adjusting on the production computer (corners, position, scale, etc...). With so much mapping involved in the process these days, I would like to be able to see what I am doing onstage almost immediately, rather than having to update (look at the stage), look back to the screen, make another change, update (look at the stage), look, etc.... This mode wouldn't allow for live playback, just an in-between mode that allowed me to look only at the stage and move my media to it's correct position. Once you have placed an image where you want it, you would then enter live mode to update and get back into running a show. This would be really helpful if we had corner control via mouse. Thanks, Clint
  4. Also, remember, that you can not have multiple resolutions from one video card. You could use 4-1024X768, or 4-1920X1080, but you can't combine the multiple resolutions you listed off the same graphics card. This has been said many times before, but I tend to forget it occassionally, so it is best to say it often.
  5. I love the fact that watchout now has watchdog to immediately restart watchout after a crash. Is there a way to make watchdog not display the dataton logo once it restarts watchout?
  6. I discovered this bug with a big show that had been built completely offline. My solution has been to copy all the images into a compositton. It will work as long as there is some image on display 1 at some point in the composition. I also had a 1px image onhand to add to the composition if it needed only to be on display 2
  7. Hello All, We have a Kissbox RS4tr 4port serial over ip box in a show. We are having a little trouble getting commands to the Barco SLM r12+ for dowser control. We are sending an output to it's IP address on port 9812, but I'm curious if you need to tell it anything else about which of the 4 ports to go to. We only need the 1 port to work, Could be that we have the HEX wrong, but that's a completely different story. Thanks, Clint
  8. Thank you sir! I am going to try to get the info there over ethernet as well, serial is just that last backup. I appreciate the hexalesson.
  9. I'm looking to control the shutters of several different projectors, some with PJLink, one without. The without is a Barco SLM r12+ and I need to control the shutter with some RS232. First, does anyone have a PDF of the command codes for the 12+ ? I've got several other codes, but not this one. Secondly, here's what I've managed to piece together at home without trying it in the space yet. Please let me know if I'm missing anything you can see 0x80 0x7E 0x00 0x22 0x42 0x00 0x80 0x7F $oD [start byte ][proj#][shutter ][null][ end byte ][carriage return] Should I use quotes? Should I not use spaces? Questions abound. Thanks, Clint
  10. Hello all, I'm hoping to use a single image in a composition as a mask, so I can tweak it once and then just drop it in the timeline as I need. As I am testing, whenever I tell the media below to be masked by the composition in the layer above, the stage window no longer displays where I click in the timeline and the timeline indicator no longer moves. If I hit the spacebar, the timeline runs and pauses, but the indicator and the stage window don't display correctly. Just me, or is this a known problem? It works fine with a image instead of a composition. version 5.2 Thanks, Clint
  11. Here was the solution I did that "sort of" worked. Better on some content than others. 1 layer = left 1 layer = right I put the same image on both layers, scaled to 200% on the X and 100% on the Y Overlaid the 2 files by sight, using lighten overlay to line up. I then found that I had to move one layer forward on the z axis and then adjust the eye distance until it looked good. (after reading the manual again) Once I achieved that, I just pasted other content onto that file. A little convoluted, but it did work pretty well. The BIG question I have now to explore is what is the optimal Z axis separation for content, stereoscopic or not, and what eye distance works best. Would be nice to have a thread that we can post about Z axis separation and eye distance that helps all exploring this amazing feature.
  12. I just received some content that is set up for side by side playback on a 3D TV. Is it simply a matter of doubling the x scale and overlaying on separate tiers? Thanks, Clint
