Adamlewen
Hi there! I am trying to find answers to 3 completely different question, with no luck so far. I would appreciate any input or guidance! 1. Using the remote app, for an operator to play a project; Is there a way to play a number of auxiliary timelines one after the other? I have a project of 20 Scenes. Each is on it's own timeline. I would like an operator to play them one scene after the other (each aux timeline has its own cues) Or should I lay them all and organize them on a main timeline...? I know it;s possible to manually play each aux timeline with the remote app, but I would like the operator to ONLY use the Spacebar for cues... 2. Is it true that there is NO shortcut to jump to the beginning of a timeline (HOME KEY on most NLE software)? 3. Is there a way to combine several Auxiliary Timelines from Project A in to Project B? (Lets say I am working on Scenes 1,2,3,4 and someone else works on 5,6,7,8... Is there a way to create a Project with Timlines 1 to 8?... I hope I make sense here! Dataton Partner Michael Posted February 5, 2015 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted February 5, 2015 Adam, 1. I'm not sure I understand what do you mean by "one after another" but you can add - in the end of each aux timeline - a control cue that will automatically will play another aux timeline. 2. Is it true that there is NO shortcut to jump to the beginning of a timeline (HOME KEY on most NLE software)? You can make an aux timeline that will reset all your aux timelines. 3. Is there a way to combine several Auxiliary Timelines from Project A in to Project B? (Lets say I am working on Scenes 1,2,3,4 and someone else works on 5,6,7,8... Is there a way to create a Project with Timlines 1 to 8?... Yes, when you copy timelines/cues all the content will be copy as well. *Of-corse editing is only with a production pc. Dataton Partner Walter Posted February 6, 2015 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted February 6, 2015 Alternatively, you can of course create cues referring to starting (or killing) the separate timelines all in another aux or even the main timeline. You'd then be operating in only one timeline and client would only be "pushing space bar".

I would recommend all media/scene on the rundown/cue sheet, should program on the main timeline. or follow Micheal's direction if you dont like the main timeline. 2. Is it true that there is NO shortcut to jump to the beginning of a timeline (HOME KEY on most NLE software)? you can insert a control cue(CTRL+P) on the beginning of the timeline, and name it F1 (or F1-F12), then press F1, will jump to the beginning(or any time you place the control cue). 3. Adamlewen
Thanks for the help guys! great tips.saving aux timelines from another project that holds the same assets can be a bit overwhelming, but it works! The F1 shortcut is a great idea. Are there other KEYS I can assign to Pause/Play Cue other than the Fs? My goal is to have 20 cues in a timeline that I can "jump" to... Adamlewen
mmm... I mean assigning letters or numbers or any other keys... By saying "SPACEBAR" you mean that's pretty much it? SPACE and Fs?

By saying "SPACEBAR" you mean that's pretty much it? SPACE and Fs? oh! you mean control cue? i though you mean "play/pause" No. you can not. only Fs can do. but you can use midi keyboard/controller to trigger/jump to any point of the timeline.
Mike Fahl
I believe the numeric keypad 0-key performs RUN and the ESC key performs PAUSE of the timeline (may recall the exact keystrokes incorrectly, but there are definitely explicit keys for these two functions). This is useful in cases when you don't want toggling keys, but a key that will always and only perform RUN (not perform PAUSE if it was already running). NNinja
Technically there is one more way of "mapping" keys. There is a little piece of freeware software that is mapping keys to Midi commands. With a MIDI/OSC bridge on the production PC you can map more keys... Or you can use TouchOSC on a remote iPhone/iPad/tablet to send commands... or a simple midi controller M
