Mike Fahl
Here, at the end of 2015, after leaving Dataton a couple of months ago, it felt like a good time to summarize things. If you're interested in the background of WATCHOUT, and how it came to be, here's a holiday treat for you: http://fahl.se/the-story-of-watchout/ Enjoy! Thomas Leong
Good read, Mike. Lots of insight into the early days of Watchout, Dataton, and before. And yes, the small Transpax+ with the equally small Pax dissolve units allowed me to program my multi-image shows in both AVL and Electrosonics which my clients already had. That saved me from investing in their respective bulky dissolve units. Dataton's ability to translate fully their code and protocol was brilliant! Thank you! All the best for the future! Mike Fahl
Thanks Mike for some fun holiday reading! Remember "Launch day"! Jonas, someone asked me if there was a video from the launch event. I recall seeing a fairly poor video at one point, but I don't remember if this was from the launch or from the later London event. Let me know if you have something, as I know you're a collector of all kinds of odds and ends.
Jonas Dannert
Hi Mike, It was from Moderna Museet 13 Dec-99, I shot that one with a DV-camera. I believe Fredrik S has it in better quality, too. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ay2p4cg8xzgktac/WATCHOUT_MM%20%28Converted%29.mov?dl=0 /jonas
