  1. i know its the wrong nic becuase on the display output its showing the incorrect IP address to use for communication. It says "Display 1 - x.x.x.x" SO what am I looking for in ip config then? IP settings for the nics are 10.10.5.40 and the incorrect one is 192.168.100.100 both class C. I am confused what I am looking for.
  2. i also tried the task scheduler to delay startup for an additional minute, and wp.exe is still selecting the wrong nic. The only way I can make this work is to disconnect the cable from the wrong nic, bootup the computer and then plug it in. Any other ideas?
  3. Ok I tried the delay, its still using the wrong nic. I have set delay for 30 seconds. I am going to increase to 2 minutes to see if that makes any difference. Metric on card I want to use is 1 and metric on the other card I dont want to use is 50. I have changed it to 2 minutes and I do see it counting down on the screen. ITs still not doing what I need. Another note, the nic that the software is binding to is a PCI express NIC that is 10gig. I know it doesnt matter, but the NIC I want to use for control is on the motherboard. Maybe there is some setting on the PCI express NIC that I need to set to make it wait? Any other ideas?
  4. Yes of course. How much should I delay it for? Do I still need to have the metric set in each NIC?
  5. I must run two nics because of the control system and IT limitations that were put on the system. We have an NDI feed that is coming from an entirely different subnet, and I cannot mix multicast/broadcast which NDI uses with the secure network that is controlling the watchpoint playback system. This request seems to be a dead end, and if watchout/dataton cannot figure out how to prioritize its Nics if you have more than one, then this product is pretty useless to me at this point and I will look for other options. For a piece of software that requires a network connection, you should and must be able to force it which NIC it should be using for remote connection, since that is so damn important.
  6. I dont want to do that unless I know that is the issue. I find it hard to beleive that both nics are not ready when the pc starts up. They both have link lights as soon as the power is turned on. I need a better more reliable way to prioritize these nics. Jason
  7. How do I do that? Do you mean delay the startup of watchpoint? I doubt it's that critical on timing? I really need to know these registry edits to make it work right. Jason
  8. Jim I appreciate the response, but that still does not indicate how I can force the software to use one nic over another. I have set the metric of the desired nic to 1 and the undesired nic to 5 and 10, and it still boots using the undesired nic. If you can find out what items I can change in the registry to force it the same way everytime, it would be appreciated.
  9. So I set the priority of my desired NIC to be used for watchout control to 1, and I set the other nic to 2, and when I rebooted it took the IP address of the priority 2 nic. Any reason why that would have happened? I had to keep the second nic unplugged and bootup the machine to make it take to the NIC I wanted it to. Any thoughts?
  10. I have a watchout version 6.6.5 running with NDI input. When watchout display (Watchpoint) starts, it seems to use the wrong IP address. Is there a way to force it to use a different NIC in the autostart.txt? I didnt see this documented. I Can connect to the display computer, but it no longer advertises in the "display computers found on network" box anymore. Thanks Jason
  11. I have two feature requests. 1- a way to feather the edge of content as a tween. This should have falloff settings and potentially the curve for the falloff. 2- a way to add a drop shadow to a piece of content. I know this can be done in photoshop, but it would be cool if it could be actively tweened for its position relation to the original image, distance, falloff, and opacity. 3- Stroke around content, same options as photoshop would be ideal 4- Inner shadow, again, like photoshop with tweenable parameters. Sorry if these are posted already. I tried searching and it came back with a long list I didnt have time to sift through. jason
  12. Thanks Jim, will the ID tagging help me get status for more than 10 aux timelines in the subscription method? How does the ID tagging work with subscription? Does it just prefix each response with the same ID? I have another unrelated question. WHen I try to authenticate on my system, I have to send the command three times. The first time I get "Error 7 0 "Unrecognized command:" The second time the response is "Error 7 0 "Unrecognized Command: "authenticate"", and then the third time I get "Ready "6.5".... I send the same exact string command each time. Thanks You should now see an email for request of additional API information, hopefully this is not a big deal. I am not sure why its so difficult to get this information, or why its hidden.
  13. Im very surprised that the workload can affect this. It seems like such a trivial thing to send out. In my case, i need to monitor many more than 3 aux timelines. I will most likely need to monitor 10-14 of them. I dont need position, more of if its playing or stopped. Ideally subscribing to the timeline folder should provide the state of all timelines within that folder. I also need to find out more about the command ID.
  14. It looks like the subscription setup only sends data if a timeline is playing every 5 seconds. Is there a way to adjust that? Secondly, I see the data at the end on an aux timeline.. First integer is play status 0=stopped, 1=paused and 2=playing. The next number is the playhead position in milliseconds??? The third integer is some type of system time, also in milliseconds? Does this all sound right? No one from dataton has contacted me, even though I sent an email. Is there a specific contact I can send a message to, to get more information about the API? Thanks again.
  15. Ok where can I find more info about aux timelines status and subscription options and command switches?
  16. Hi guys, I dont see a way in the manual to request status of the aux timelines. I need to know if they are paused, playing or stopped, as well as the playhead position. Is this possible? I also saw in another posting there is a subscription method for control systems to use. Where can I find more documentation on that? Nothing is included in the standard manual. I have a project where we are using a few display pcs without a production pc, and some custom software running it all. We will have many aux timelines that we need to get status on. thanks Jason
  17. @Mike FahlWhere can I find more documentation on the subscription model? I dont see anything in the standard manual. Thanks Jason
  18. Can we add the ability to set a preference to have the "Click humps to time" option under the timeline menu to be disabled on show load or opening the production software?
  19. So the controlling system, medialon is not really the issue here. Its really just watchout not chasing timecode correctly. Positrack or not, we are not using that function, and we just want watchout to act as a playback deck, while medialon tells it which show to load, and watchout waits for timecode. We are installing a behringer umc22 audio interface today, and getting rid of the balanced to unbalanced adapter cable. Some people feel that some interference on the unbalanced audio line to cause issues. I really hope this will solve the problem. I am not looking forward to getting the driver to work. If anyone has any experience on what should be done to get the interface working on 6.1.6, it would be appreciated. Thanks Jason
  20. Is there an approved list of audio interfaces that use USB for timecode input? Or what have people used for this before and not had issues on 6.1.6. I hear the WDM driver is a nightmare. I am getting a behringer UMC22. Jim Kellner said that behringer has been known to work, but there is no certified/approved list of hardware. I would even accept just a list of products that have been known to work. thanks
  21. Could this issue come from the wrong type of timecode selected on timecode mode? I would suspect our sync with lips would not be correct if it was set wrong. I would also assume that this issue would occur on every occurance timecode was to be chased, correct? Does the timecode test tool show the type of timecode correctly, or you just have to know?
  22. Ok, the shows we are running are about 3 minutes long. The timeline length? So if timecode runs longer than the length of the timeline, errors will occur? I think the default lengths that I saw are over an hour, but I will make sure they are correct. We are doing about 10 seconds of pre-roll, but this issue shows up almost immediately. This doesnt happen very often, and its hard to replicate. Also, all the 8-10 shows we run medialon does the same exact set of commands, sets timecodemode to on and sets the type of timecode. This issue only comes up about every 24 hours, since the cluster machine is on all the time, it just sits there waiting for the next command. Jim Kellner mentioned that since out showfile has both the main and backup cluster machine in the file (on different stages), that the master cluster is looking for the slave machine. I find it hard to beleive that the master will have problems playing back if the slave is not present. Timecode is being distributed by sr-115 distripalyzers, and we have other systems listening to the same timecode, so I know its not distribution or generation. Also, I used the timecode test tool and it shows good level and clean code. I set my level to be about 70% of the bar. I am looking for mistakes that I may have made that would cause timecode to not work properly. My client is getting more and more upset as I have never seen this issue before.
  23. Hey guys. I have a display cluster that is being controlled by medialon. We are having it chase timecode from medialon. Medialon sends a load show command with a timecode mode command. We are having issues of 1 out of about 20 timecode starts, it doesnt chase correctly. We are running 6.1.6 since none of the new versions seemed to work right with timecode. We have other devices listening to timecode and they work fine. I have used the watchout timecode test tool and my levels are set correclty (about 75% of the bargraph). When the problem occurs, the playback jumps all over the place as soon as it starts chasing. Rebooting the cluster machine seems to fix the issue. Until another time period where it happens again. These machines can be left on 24/7 waiting for timecode, correct? thanks Jason
