mpt_adam
Working on putting out some fires, wondering if anyone's got experience capturing audio from the Intensity Pro HDMI capture cards. I don't have a way to test myself right now, just trying to orchestrate a backup and can't find info on this. Thanks!
Jonas Dannert
Yes it will, but WATCHOUT does not make use of it. /jonas
Dataton Partner Walter Posted May 6, 2012 Dataton Partner Report Share Posted May 6, 2012 He Adam, just out of curiosity: why would you like to capture audio? I can't think of a reason myself, never occurred to me to use watchout for audio mixing of live sources. Audio from live feeds in my world would be routed to the audiomixer directly.

Thanks Jonas, that's good to know. I ended up being able to source a de-embedder and get that onsite. Walter, we've got appletv's being captured, and iPad's are mirroring their screen to the appletv's, there's some videos in the keynote files to play over the system. It's a live presentation and brainstorming and all sorts of things going on type of session, the wireless mirroring of the iPad should be pretty cool.

Let us know if you sort it out (apparently using separate audio-mixer?)
Moderator jfk Posted May 7, 2012 Moderator Report Share Posted May 7, 2012 ... I ended up being able to source a de-embedder and get that onsite. ... So to clarify, his source only provided an HDMI connection with both video and audio combined. OP was hoping to use the HDMI capture card in WATCHOUT to receive, breakout, and re-send the embedded audio signal to his sound system. As he discovered, WATCHOUT does not do that, so he found another product to breakout the audio from the HDMI to his sound system.
Jonas Dannert
:-) Apple TV DO have a separate audio output, an optical TOSlink connector... Although not analog, but already de-embedded, possible to convert. /jonas
agfrancis
<moved by moderator> Hi, Could someone tell me if there is a way to bring in sound as well as live video into a display machine. We have Watchout running a video wall made up of Christie Microtiles and our client wants to use it to watch the world cup. We have a FreeviewHD tuner running into the machine via a BlackMagic Decklink, added the live video to the show, scaled it etc. but cant find any way of bringing the audio in. As a work around, I've looped out of the Decklink so when the card is activated audio goes straight to the Amp. This works fine apart from the video being behind the audio, which makes sense because of the processing delay. There seems to be no audio delay options in the Deckink either which I would expect as they would want to keep AV sync locked on the board. Any help you guys have would be great. Many Thanks Andrew

(An item such as the Rane AD22S Audio Delay).
agfrancis
Hi JFK, Thanks for your reply and apologies for my late response, for some reason I've had a lot of trouble logging in to the forum. This is the route we took in the end. I routed the audio through the decklink card so that the sound was only live when the capture card was. It's worked out pretty well and our client is happy, which is what everyone wants! Andrew
