  1. I remember the moments of using external TC coming in thru an iPad that was also triggering other iPads to play in sync over Wifi being the most „exiting“ in my professional life.
  2. looks like the framerates dont match at all. Does it all play in sync when not being triggered from external TC? all framerates have to match, materials, Watchout settings in prefs, external timecode, display. Use wav for audiofiles, mute videos own audio. There will be a tiny delay between the tcs but its consistant.
  3. well, maybe this is included in „capture cards, streams“, but any kind of webcam, HDMI to USB (like the Elgato Camlink) would be appreciated.
  4. oh, this was supposed to be in the wishlist section... What did I do?.. Happy New Year.
  5. Hi, just had to to learn, that audio input from external Live-sources is not possible.. Had thought it was just me.. Maybe that would be an idea to put into a newer version. This could make WO more of the control-center of things. cheers.
  6. hm... thats sad. This could go onto a wishlist, I guess. Thx.
  7. Hi there, has anybody successfully got audio from an Elgato Camlink or from an NDI Source into Watchout as a live input? cheers, have a nice holidaytime.
  8. it doesnt work with the windows 7-ish program uninstalling routine. dragging into the trash and reinstalling the newer version works. Don‘t know if this installation is reliable, though. But at this point in business and on that machine it doesnt matter. I use this for testing NDI and playing around only. Thanks.
  9. Hi, I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the latest version (dec.2020) of WO on a tiny production machine. When uninstalling I got the error message „An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: D:\Config.Msi Yes I had installed Watchout on D. Any ideas?
  10. no, the greenscreen keyer in WO (at least up to the version I am looking at right now, 6.2.2) has two parameters. Slectove Keyer doesnt even have a color picker - or maybe I just didnt find it. Why not look at the camera settings and get rid of that „ringing“ before sending into WO? Or try putting another system in between that does a more advamced keying and sends an NDI signal, with alpha channel and audio to WO. Like OBS „dedicated NDI Output“.
  11. does it key perfeclty in other software packages? Some people turn on or leave on the artificial sharpening in cameras. Which makes good keying really hard.
  12. that is a long gap. I just tried it myself on a tiny Surface Pro 3 with an i5. No displays attached, though. Using a full HD Prores 422 clip, audio as wav. It worked in the Main and in an Auxtimeline without any flashing. Maybe test it with a fresh project and only two clips, to check if is a computer, graphics card, quicktime installstion (none required) or somehing.
  13. Hi... I have not worked with HAP at all so far, because I find the filesizes ridiculous. So for troubleshooting I would recommend trying the original ProRes 422 (not HQ) files, they might play in watchout. Or MP4. Make sure the computers and SSDs/drives can handle the files. We had some from a rental company, who insisted the machines were capable enough but it turned out and rental had to admit, they were not.
  14. well, maybe putting the OBS in between, for testing? You know that sources into OBS can be output to NDI, without the need to operate it as a switcher?
  15. I have not that much experience with NDI and watchout together, because it seems to have been rather „experimental“ from the start. And Newtek, releasing different versions and flavours is not really helpfull either. So in general (for Ventuz etc.) I switched to vMix to send NDI from one to other computers. Also I would never start an NDI Stream in the middle of a timeline but from the very beginning and fade it in and out with tweens. Also I wouldnt leave the IP-addresses on DHCP. just my 20 cents
  16. Streaming outputs as an alternative to real displays. Could be a special license to have the different outputs available as Spout- or NDI-streams instead of or in addition to Displays.
  17. hm... why not mask only the overlapping (blended) area with an additional layer which can be controlled via Midi, OSC, Keyframes etc for the moments not needed. But maybe I am getting this all wrong...
  18. „...but a virtual studio might have several surfaces on which content can be displayed: animated backdrops, screen inserts, graphics overlays. Being able to manage content for each destination with separate Tasks & Displays in Watchout seems like a good way to manage that. ...“ Indeed, hopefully Dataton goes this route, because this is something that for example OBS falls short. No timeline... So, for the wishlist. Make NDI an addition or alternative to Hardware-displays. With a respective model in licensing. It will take some time until usual events will come back, I am sure.
  19. well, before purchasing anything you might try installing the free vMix Desktop Capture on that Watchout-Display machine and check if OBS sees that as a NDI source.
  20. hm... why use watchout as a playback for OBS? Multiscreen is not really for streaming... Only the comfort of „editing“, layering lowerthirds etc.. come to my mind. but basically all that can be achieved otherwise as well. But let‘s wait for more details...?
  21. Using NDI you can mix and compose live-content and then feed it into Watchout.
  22. I do not use HAP myself, but see in your files specs, that you have audio with 32bits pre sample. Have you ever tried without audio, using a separate wav? Who knows...
  23. I have at some point used the free Artnetominator application for monitoring.
  24. hm... you should definitely check out https://www.dataton.com/ and watch the video using the „discover“-button. Why Watchout? Because it is very widespread, an industry-standard (not the only one). It is basically kind of easy to understand and operate. An advantage is that one can take over or share someone elses „programming“ without having to dive into complex and hidden-at-first-sight structures, usually. One can of course make it more complex with virtual screens, remoting, tracking, dynamic external files etc. And it is kind of cost-effective. No, I do not work for Dataton.
  25. I would go with NDI anytime. Check out OBS, which supports NDI as well. Use it as a Mixer for sources before going into Watchout. REALLY great. And free, on top of it all.
