  1. Simple answer is no. You should consider reorganizing your programming so that timeline jumps are never needed. If the issue is main timeline jumps to lock to timecode changes, then no, you will never get around the overall pause that jump causes. Nature of the beast. Interactivity though timecode chased timeline jumps is ill advised. There are better ways.
  2. Yes, WATCHOUT fully utilizes multi-threading in movie decoding. It also depends on the media being played. Decoding just one 4k movie probably benefits from more speed. Decoding four 2K movies probably benefits from more cores.
  3. Please stop the duplicate posts, the forum is moderated, the post submission will not appear until a moderator approves it. this may take a while. That does not prove it is setup properly for WATCHOUT. The BMD software uses BMD's proprietary driver. WATCHOUT uses generic Windows Driver Model driver (WDM). apples and oranges So while BMD softwre proves the hardware connections are correct, it does not prove driver installation is correct for WATCHOUT. It may be, but your description indicates maybe not.
  4. Yes Neither. The UDP traffic will go out an available NIC with the highest Prioriry in the Windows configuration. reference: Multiple network cards on a W6 machine?
  5. ??? If you are sending timecode to watchpoint and you want to "read the Timecode while video is playing from the display computer", why not just DA the external sourced timecode to the device you are using to read the Timecode.
  6. What you describe is a common occurrence when there are multiple NICs in the computer. The TCP/IP is going out the correct NIC, the UDP (transport commands) is going out the wrong NIC. Either re-order your multiple NICs or disable the other NIC.
  7. Might be better to use WATCHNET to do this than WATCHOUT Production. With WATCHNET, there is no way to screw things up, with WATCHOUT Production it is way to easy to go wrong. You would forward an incremental .wob to WATCHNET to do that.
  8. So you have an appropriate capture card in the production computer with the signal DA'd to it? (That is the only way to achieve Live video in the Preview).
  9. Claimed or actually verified on screen?
  10. See this misunderstanding all the time. enableLayerCond 0 is NOT all layers off. enableLayerCond 0 is reset to default layer conditions. What are the conditional layer defaults? User defined. Any layer checked in File-Preferences-Conditions are defined as default ON when the file is loaded or default ON after receiving an enableLayerCond 0. i.e. while the checkboxes found in File-Preferences-Conditions are useful for testing conditional layers during production, that is not their primary purpose. The primary purpose is to define default ON conditional layers. BTW Your workaround is perfectly valid. So, to accomplish what you expect, clear all checkboxes under File-Preferences-Conditions, save the file and update display servers. It sure would not hurt if Dataton added the word Default to the title Enabled Layer Conditions i.e. Default Enabled Layer Conditions At its simplest form, a show with multiple language sound tracks, conditional layers provide a controlled method for default layer(s), allowing the show to load and run with a sound track instead of appering broken and silent. with no external specific selection of a conditional layer. For example, default language on layer condition 1 save with layer condition 1 enabled in preferences.
  11. Very good information, sounds like a much better way to do this. One comment, WATCHOUT has no capability to output MIDI of any kind, WATCHOUT MIDI is input only.
  12. You will not control the layer, you control the opacity of the video cue. Yes, providing the interactive live control of opacity is done via an external control method. Use an Input object and an opacity tween formula containing the input to accomplish this. Valid for WATCHOUT 4, 5, or 6.
  13. ArtNet is ArtNet, if the product generates valid ArtNet, then yes, WATCHOUT can record one universe (per cue) of ArtNet.
  14. I think there may be more here than meets the eye. It would appear that offers simple playback of objects, but sophisticated real time compositing and animation in a real time render appears to be beyond their intent. WATCHOUT is completely based on generic hardware accelerated Microsft DirectX 3D real time rendering. There is no mention of support for that standard at your references. Instead, it offers an SDK for their technology. So to do as you propose, WATCHOUT would need to be rewritten from scratch to function with a proprietary standard. I would conjecture a whole lot of features would have to eliminated to do that.
  15. Please be more specific than "WO6" Almost every update of WO6 has included ProRes improvements. Please confirm you have tested in WATCHOUT 6.1.2
  16. Short answer to your specific questions is no. All media for single show must reside on the same logical drive. Would make some sense to combine like drives into a RAID to address this. Otherwise, Windows does provide a solution to your question. You can combine multiple physical drives into a single logical drive. For example: How to Combine Multiple Hard Drives Into One Volume for Cheap, High-Capacity Storage How to Combine Multiple Partitions Into a Single Partition Basic and Dynamic Disks (Windows) - MSDN - Microsoft etc. If you want to install WATCHOUT on one drive and store media in an alternate location, see info on the showpath command line switch in the WATCHOUT User Forum post Forcing WO display pc's to use second disk
  17. WATCHOUT has a positive next cue command as well - the 0 on the numeric keypad is play only (no toggle)
  18. Timecode would be a very bad way to perform cue based synchronization. Timecode is normally used for continuos run. I do not know if it is possible to send an IP command from keynote, but if it can, that would be the best way to go.
  19. FYI Most commonly overlooked item is Control Panel Program & Features Turn Windows features on / off Uncheck Media Center That is a known cause of crashing.
  20. More important than the hardware is Windows OS and driver configuration. Apple supplies the internal hardware drivers for bootcamp Apple supplied drivers for USB controllers, Disc controller, sound co-processor, on-board graphics, etc, etc are part of a correct bootcamp setup. Use hardware manager to confirm your internal hardware drivers are sourced from Apple, not Microsoft. Have you run the OS configuration checklist? 21. Could your issue be an incorrect gamma setting on the projectors? Gamma is crucial to good blends. what does a projected gray scale look like?
  22. That is essentially correct, but to be clear, it can run with Crossfire / SLI and take full advantage of the processing power of the combined GPUs, BUT you can only use the outputs from one card - not both.
  23. Yes, it is. Of course, you will need to capture two HD-SDI signals at the same time, which is easily possible. Then place each one as cues on adjacent layers, place the key signal on top of the normal signal. On the Key cue, in advanced tab, select Suppress Rendering (for use as Mask only) On the normal signal cue, in advanced tab, set Masked by layer above: Alpha Mask
  24. Yes, your local Dataton Premium Partner will be able to assist you with such an update. However, to the best of my knowledge, there is no new WATCHPAX image update just yet, the last update was February 2016.
