  1. Torbjorn, At the moment, there are no such update, unfortunately. /jonas
  2. Alexey, 1. "No such interface supported", indicates that no default audio device is selected and/or has a driver installed. 2. "However it works fine on win 7", on the same hardware as above? 3. Please use Windows 8.1 Update 1, not Windows 8. 4. WATCHOUT 5.5.2 was released today, can be found on our website. /jonas
  3. No, we have not. It would also be easier if one know who's asking... /jonas
  4. I updated to WO v5. I want to make a Pcs with 4 output. I need output VGA. Can I use adapter mini or display port to Vga?? Yes, an ACTIVE DP/MDP->VGA will work. Might be hard to come by these days. though. http://www.accellcables.com/collections/adapters/products/ultraav-displayport-to-vga-active-adapter http://www.accellcables.com/collections/adapters/products/ultraav-mini-displayport-to-vga-active-adapter http://www.accellcables.com/collections/adapters/products/ultraav-displayport-to-vga-active-adapter-white http://www.accellcables.com/collections/adapters/products/ultraav-mini-displayport-to-vga-active-adapter-white Do you check It?? Yes. We have tested with 6 VGA outputs simultaneously. I need a Sdi capture card for a Pcs without delay . No delay is simply not possible. I have 2 Pcs with DeckLink Mini Recorder but I have delay. I do not know if It is for the capture card or Pc. The pcs are 4 years old. It is both. I would build new computers, if possible. Zero delay is still not a possibility. Could you get a specification for the pcs?? http://forum.dataton.com/topic/734-watchout-5-technical-notes/ /jonas
  5. Thiago, There is no speculation, WATCHOUT is Windows only. There is no WATCHOUT version for MacOSX, unfortunately. But if you have a new Mac with an Intel processor it runs very well with the latest version of emulation software, such as VMWare Fusion and Parallels. It works very well for light production work. For more heavy production, it could work as well, if the Preview is turned off. This applies to the WATCHOUT production computer, do NOT attempt to run WATCHOUT Display computers under emulation software. Another option on a Mac is of course installing Windows under BootCamp. http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ /jonas
  6. Please turn off Windows Media Center Features as per our Tweaklist. http://dataton.com/downloads/watchout/support/tweak/Windows_7_Tweaking_list_2.1.pdf /jonas
  7. Is it compressed with Bandizip? If so, please try with Windows own Send to -> Compressed folder instead /jonas
  8. It works well, as any AMD Radeon HD 69xx/HD79xx or R9 280/280X/290/290X graphic card. /jonas
  9. If you have budget concerns, please see my comments below. /jonas Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-5820K Processor (15M Cache, up to 3.60 GHz). Ok, 6-cores. Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2133MHz C13 memory kit for DDR4. 32 GB is unnecessary, 16 GB is quite enough. And cheaper. SSD: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512 GB. Ok. Mother Board: WS X99-E. I would go back to the earlier MB, ASUS X99 Pro. Also cheaper. VideoCard: AMD RADEON ™ HD 6990 GPU. I would opt for a cheaper card, like a NVidia GTX980, with 3 DP and 1 HDMI/1 DVI, for 4 outputs. Cooling: Cooler Master - Seidon 120M - LGA 2011 - RL-S12M-24PK-R1. Ok, watercooling is a good choice. Energy Source: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2 Power Supply. 1600W of PSU is a bit much, I think. 1000W is probably enough. And cheaper.
  10. Curtis, This type of box has been used successfully. http://store.antec.com/new-solution/nsk1380.html# It's a bit bigger than a Shuttle, ie will fit a microATX motherboard with 4 PCIe-slots. We've not built any computers based upon this box, so as they say on their website, any microATX motherboard will fit the box, which are not too many at the moment... 11. Hi, my comments below. /jonas With a 8-core processor and an AMD FirePro W9100 chosen, I would opt to change this below: SSD: Kingston HyperX 3K SSD - 120GB SH103S3 / 120G. - I would use 1 SSD for OS and 2 SSD's in RAID 0 for MEDIA/WATCHOUT. Samsung 840/850 PRO is a good choice. Mother Board: Asus X99 Pro. - I would use an ASUS X99-E WS.
  12. This is what I mean:http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1420-coming-back-after-3-years-need-advices/?do=findComment&comment=5693 This thread could also be useful, W600 has been discussed many times in the Forum, a search for "W600" or "multi-output" confirms this: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1512-new-watchout-display-computers-hardware-config/ /jonas
  13. This seems OK. This will not work, WATCHOUT will only use one graphic card for output. W600 will work for 6 outputs, with video playback primarily. This will require proper control over the content used. W7000 is a more capable graphics card, but has 4 outputs. This is a really good choice. /jonas
  14. Brent, This will probably work well for 2-3 outputs. Please be aware of the newer K4200 also. AMD FirePro W7000 is a more powerful 4-output card, for not much more than the K4000. /jonas
  15. Curtis, Please see my inline comments below. /jonas I know apple ProRes is not a recommended playback codec, however I have had a few clients request it after explaining otherwise... One gallery was so set on it they went with another playback solution.. Question, how does one install pro res to even test? I thought it was part of qt. It is part of QuickTime Player for Windows, currently at version 7.7.6, as far as I know. After reinstalling qt no video is decoded only sound. The apple codec download for windows prores 1.0 (older I think) failed to install. No download should be necessary, see above. However, not all available ProRes profiles are supported on Windows. Be aware that ProRes playback is very hardware resource intensive.
  16. Curtis, Single slot AMD FirePro cards currently are: - W600, 2 GB, Videowall, 1-6 MiniDP outputs (mainly for video playback) - W7000, 4 GB, Workstation, 1-4 DP outputs - W7100, 8 GB, Workstation, 1-4 DP outputs, upgrade from above (PRELIMINARY delivery 31/12-14) /jonas
  17. Assaf, Please see my inline comments below. /jonas another thing. i use hdmi outputs. after shutting down the projectors and turning back on the software crashes because the screens are lost. This is an EDID failure, due to the projector does not give you any EDID when turned off. is there any way to avoid this? Oh yes, using EDID Managers like TMB:s DVI Parrot or Gefen DVI Detective, on all outputs, as mentioned frequently here on the Forum, will remedy this. Newer professional graphics cards like AMD FirePro or NVidia Quadro, have this built-in. is there any command for re launch the software ? In this case I think Windows needs to be re-booted, anyway. One way of course, is to turn OFF the WATCHOUT-system before turning OFF the projectors, Then turning ON the projectors before the WATCHOUT-system.
  18. Scott, please look into this earlier post by Jim Kellner: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1420-coming-back-after-3-years-need-advices/?do=findComment&comment=5693 "As for those tempted to use the FirePro W600, beware, the GPU is a bit weak for WATCHOUT. The W600 is targeted at home video applications, not so much for DirectX 3D accelerated apps. If all you are doing is video playback and very little with tween tracks, no masking, no keying, etc. you might get away with the W600. That implies you have control of the content and its programming". /jonas
  19. Or maybe use this feature in WATCHOUT? (does not help in 4.5.1, I know...) from the WATCHOUT 5.5 Release Notes: Startup Delay A command line option is added to the display software, allowing a delay to be introduced when the software is started. This may occasionally help in avoiding start-up problems, by delaying the start of the display software until things have settled down. To use this feature, append -Delay 3 to the shortcut used to start the display software ("WATCHPOINT.EXE"), where 3 is the desired delay in seconds. /jonas
  20. I think Joel is asking for the "usual" way to make a Display PC autostart into WATCHOUT Display/Watchpoint, no? ie placing a shortcut to Watchpoint in Windows Startup folder. That's all one need to do, on a properly configured system. Daniel: A Display PC should always be run as Administrator...please see the Tweaklist. If you run a lot of other setups on the same machine, you're on your own a bit... I usually use separate OS:es/SSD:s when doing this, to avoid issues. A 2,5" multi disk cage in the front of the machine helps a lot here /jonas
  21. I'll guess your recovered Showfile is corrupted. /jonas
  22. Yes, of course. Only thing is to make sure that the particular MB of choice supports the amount of PCIe-slots needed at the appropriate speed. x1/x4 etc. /jonas
  23. Then I delete myself partly above /jonas
  24. Thanks Jim for your comprehensive input, it's appreciated! /jonas
  25. Brent, This looks OK, for two outputs. For more outputs, then the graphics card is the weak point. http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=cao9020mtw7p0177&model_id=optiplex-9020-desktop&c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04 /jonas
